In the end I think this album was quite disappointing and it’s best to let it be. She needs to focus on her musical identity and I think needs a writing partnership to up the quality of her own songs. Becky Hill came out with a compilation album of her ‘feats’. I imagine it’s a nightmare to sort and Ella is only 26 with a smaller body or work (although more than many think)…

At least the lyric is ‘Do’. There’s just a lot more of them 😉

This is actually very very good. Impressive production and quite a lot going on vocally for a short dance song.

It is very well produced. A quality tune.

I think the concept of an ‘album as a body of work’ went about 20 years ago, pretty much when albums went. I did like the ‘traditional’ but then along came peer to peer networks, Napster and iTunes…

I don’t think there’s any more singles on the album. I think most fans would want more piano ballads and soulful tracks that highlight her voice, like the title track. But I think she’s been a ‘jobbing’ artist for quite a while now and she seems to have lost her identity. Her tour will be quite interesting in terms of the play list and her audience. For now I think she’s happy raking in some decent money…
