Ella Henderson - Brave
First clip and I must say I do like the sound of this! Plays to her strengths…

Ella Henderson - Brave
I quite liked Take Care of You but Risk it All was an absolute dud. The Glorious EP was also pretty poor besides Hold On Me which was a very nice ballad. If this is a prelude to an album it better be strong. Let’s hope I’m pleasantly surprised. Otherwise her talent will be rather wasted as a jobbing artist doing features and private gigs.

Ella Henderson - Brave
Strange promo video from Ella if it’s just a single. But hey her much lauded follow up album has been nothing but strange… Have edited the original post. Thanks to Bjork and Frenchie for the info …

Ella Henderson - Brave
“New music very soon, it’s literally round the corner”. I assume it’s an album given how she thanks fans for their patience… Will be interesting in lots of ways. All new music? Any old singles? What style? (dance, pop, RnB)… Edit: Looks like it’s just a new solo single called Brave…

Avril Lavigne - Love Sux
Travis Barker plays on this track. What’s he?? Lol It’s obviously a rock track. Unless you’re tone deaf.

Avril Lavigne - Love Sux
Like this track. Hard to believe she’s 37 now! Is this in ‘pop’ because it’s pop-punk? Would I find new Blink182, NFG etc singles here as well? Surely it’s rock, as is most guitar based music.

Mimi Webb - Seven Shades of Heartbreak
Really impressed with her and the quality of her songs.

Ella Henderson - Risk It All
Looking at next year she has a European tour supporting The Script so that may give some opportunity to develop a mainland Europe presence. Maybe more dance features like Ofenbach. In the UK, she seems to know Joel Corry well so I can see a collaboration there. Maybe another duet, even with James Arthur. And at least one solo single like Take Care of You. I just can’t see a solo album getting any traction or her ‘traditional’ music like on the Glorious EP. I think the year after next is when she can hit real problems with this rambling approach.

Ella Henderson - Risk It All
Tbh I don’t think anyone expected the Ofenbach ‘feat’ to chart in the UK or the Paige charity single, which Ella didn’t even sing on. But I take your general point. At this point I think she is just earning some money where she can, with little focus on her future music career. There is no strategy. She seems equally interested in song writing and TV appearances as in singing.

Spotify & Apple Music Chart Discussion
Let’s have a Buzzjack campaign to get Mr.Brightside into the top 10… :0)

Adele - Easy On Me
Absolutely this. She has something very special about her. I don’t find it hard to enjoy and celebrate that.

Adele - Easy On Me
Fantastic. Crush it.

Adele - 30
Looking forward to this. Like the snippet. It reminds me of hearing the first bars of Hello. Wonder if it will have that impact? I reckon a lot of people can remember where they were when they first heard Hello on full. I was in a Spanish hotel and blared it out…

Ofenbach & Ella Henderson - Hurricane
Official video now out. Short but sweet. I like this song! 82sfvXuF5w0

Ofenbach & Ella Henderson - Hurricane
Video out soon. Looks like it might be interesting and with some budget behind it…

Ella Henderson - Risk It All
The problem for Ella and dance music is it probably isn’t a sustainable option for her. She needs a well known collaborator to create a hit single and she’s gone through quite a few already! She’s probably got Joel Corry, Shane Codd and the likes of David Guetta, which is very unlikely, left on the list! I’m sure her heart is more in RnB and Soul, but pop is where she needs to get to maintain a profile. For now the reality is, 7 years after Ghost, she’s a jobbing artist earning where she can. I’d hope she could launch a pop oriented album for Christmas, then push it through on her support tour for The Script. Longer term I could see her moving to TV where she seems quite comfortable and talented.

Ella Henderson - Risk It All
I think there may be some link with the Gospel group via Rudimental on this. Whatever it was a dud. Hurricane with Ofenbach is much better, but I agree there’s little focus. And how this all fits with a new album who knows!

Ofenbach & Ella Henderson - Hurricane
Like this and the Eurodance vibe to it. Interested to see where it breaks through. Much better than Risk It All.

Ed Sheeran - Visiting Hours
A bit of a dirge. Can’t make it all the way through.
-
Ella Henderson - Risk It All
Dream on me should have scraped top 40. The problem was the sample wasn’t upfront and strong enough. A missed opportunity. This song just doesn’t have a good enough melody.
-
Ella Henderson - Risk It All
Nah not for me. The chorus just doesnt cut it. A very strange single choice.
-
Ella Henderson - Risk It All
I’m not sure radio will be straining at the leash to play some ‘gospel dance’! But hey happy to be proven wrong…
-
Ella Henderson - Risk It All
Sounds a bit Eurovision and not in a good way. Strange marketing going a gospel choir route, although she does personally like gospel tbf. Just when you thought she was trying to modernise the ‘old person in a young body’ image… But in the end maybe that’s what makes her more unique??!

Kanye West - DONDA
Really struggle to just forget Kanye’s Trump and Maga love in. Tbh he’s finished for me.

Ed Sheeran - Bad Habits
I mean it doesn’t sound like Ed Sheeran but I like it and it’s very commercial. He had to change something and he has in an even more commercial direction. He’ll be around for another 30 years :0)
