Ella is in quite a strange marketing position. Not really a ‘cool’ dance artist for a younger audience like Becky Hill is, her latest ballads didn’t seem to cut through and in her heart she loves soul, RnB, Gospel but that doesn’t sell! For a solo single she’s probably best keeping to upbeat pop. But clearly needs a very very good song to get anywhere. Ps. The poppy Take Care of You just got accredited Silver so it’s done pretty well tbh. The charts are increasingly difficult and stream playlist dominated and maybe we need to move on from just judging success by them.

My God this is terrible. The worst thing she’s ever done by a mile.

She is a talented artist but for me got a bit one dimensional on the screechy side. Also I found some songs like Price tag extremely irritating and it’s a bit hard to erase that. But credit due for her relentlessly trying and pushing.

Think it’s a grower. Cute video as well.

  8. Will it just make UK #10 this week? It might just slip out... fingers crossed.
  9. It’s predicted #8 on official chart this week, probably will end up at #12 or so...
  10. I liked that Mission song, but they were always a bit a U2 derivative. The Cult were pretty great. Still are.
  11. Let’s Go Home Together now UK iTunes 1, 42, 116, 131. Chapter 1 now #122 in album chart...
  12. The One Show appearance has taken this to #1 on iTunes!
  13. They are on the BBC One Show tonight and performed on BBC Radio 2 Zoe Ball this morning. Should see a decent bounce.
  14. Strange Tom Grennan went missing from iTunes then came back considerably lower on sales. Odd.
  15. A few more positives. #60 Spotify #8 Apple Music #7 and #87 iTunes Chance of a new top 40 high ??
  16. Seems like radio now loves a monotone dance gloss over everything. That’s literally all Capital is now, didnt realise it had reached Radio 2 as well. Probably trying to be hip.
  17. Big Top 40 #1 for a 2nd week, Radio 2 Record of The Week, and into the top 100 on Spotify. This still has some legs!
  18. I think it’s strangely not had that much radio play either, certainly not on BBC Radio 1 or 2. See it makes their playlists this week. There seems to be a lot of love for the song out there but some of the corporates seem not to have embraced it. Maybe either because of the play on ‘fcuk’ or the fact Tom has another successful song out and they dont want to playlist him twice.
  19. No.1 on the Big Top 40 today! Hopefully that might get it some more plays on Capital etc I’ve not actually heard it on there yet but I have heard Tiesto The Business at least 100 times, or it feels like it...
  20. I do like the Maisie Peters song. Never heard of her before. Seems quite Carly Rae Jepsen.
  21. I much prefer Tom he does a great job on this track, a really interesting voice. Can’t be doing with James Arthur’s slurring moody drawl. And his fans seem to be getting increasingly unpleasant. Tom has put up with quite a lot of nastiness with class.
  22. I think it might make #30. Finally made Spotify top 200 at #192. Let’s see what playlists it makes today...
  23. Really nice video which goes great with the song! Full credit to Tom Grennan btw he does a great job in adding vocal interest and colour to this song.
  24. Now a mismatch between kworb and iTunes chart. Is the iTunes chart usually correct and kworb has to sort its data out??
  25. It’s only about track 50 on Hot Hits so that’s not great. But at least it’s on there ... See what radio playlists it makes later this week. I think it has a lot of potential it should be a decent sized hit. I guess the main potential negative to some stations is the ‘cheeky’ lyric..
