I had very little knowledge of blackfishing a few years back (still educating myself) and I assume given that this and BLM have been at the forefront of conversations over the last 18 months more people have woken up to it. Of course we were sad when she left the band, and then we came to terms with it and were relatively excited for what was to come. It doesn’t mean we can’t see when something is wrong and needs to be called out though.

Tried to listen to it again today - I’m finding it gets worse with every listen.

I think we’re looking at the Leigh thing all wrong. She didn’t go out of her way asking him to make a defamatory video. She replied to his questioning whether he should make a Boyz dance video with a sly dig of ‘make one about her blackfishing instead’ which is what should be discussed. I think what she said / did was absolutely fine. This is only going to get messier. I can see Leigh speaking up on it now that this zzzz-list idiot has made this video.

People are making it seem like she reached out to fans asking them to drag her. That is definitely not the case.

Sad that they no longer follow her but it’s to be expected now. I think they’ve done the right thing for them and for their brand now.

I’m not a POC but my partner is and she doesn’t like how Jesy is being / has been the past few years. I can see the issues with how she’s behaving so I completely understand why others are feeling the way they are. And the worse thing about it is that I don’t think she’ll ever learn from it / change.

I think how MNEK has reacted is perfectly fine and he’s within his right to do that.
