I'm sure Elvis Presley should feature in that list of Most Weeks at No. 1 in Hot 100's History.

Should million-sellers include streaming?
I'm still curious as to how streaming is calculated. I thought, originally, you only had to play a song for at least 30 seconds for the stream to count! This seems wrong to me. For a stream to count, the full duration of the song should be a must. I don't think streaming should count towards million 'sellers'.

Do you still write out the charts
I used to listen to the countdown of the new chart on a Tuesday lunchtime and I wrote up the chart from 1981 until around 1991.

Please can someone send me in the right direction...
Thanks again Riser. It was new to me! :)

Streaming to be included in the UK Official Chart: CONFIRMED
That's one thing I'd be miffed about. For me a track's total sales should be just that. The streams should only count towards the tracks weekly chart position. While I'm on a wee rant I also think a song should be listened to all the way through before it counts as a chart stream, not this 30 second nonsense!! :nono:

Streaming to be included in the UK Official Chart: CONFIRMED
Wouldn't 50,000 streams be equivalent to 500 sales? Edit..Beat me to it Ben!

Streaming to be included in the UK Official Chart: CONFIRMED
Is it definite that people who have the free Spotify service will have streams counted towards the chart?

OCC: Michael Jackson's Most Downloaded Tracks Since Death
Wow, I didn't realise it only beat 'Bulletproof' by one sale! :o 'Man in the Mirror' so deserved to be a posthumous No.1 for Michael! It is strange Bre. Also, I think I'm correct in saying, Madonna has NEVER had a million seller in the UK.

Predict: Lady Gaga - "G.U.Y."
I went for top 20. Thought it was pretty good. It's a shame she's struggling so badly this era! :(

'Skipped' UK Top 40 Hits
Aww, I went to see Embrace last Thursday. Second gig of their comeback tour. They've been away for 8 years. New 'Refugees' EP came out on Monday. Not sure that it's likely to chart come Sunday though. :(

'Skipped' UK Top 40 Hits
Back in '87 George Michael's 'I Want Your Sex' was skipped on the chart. Radio 1 didn't play it at all but I recall the Network chart playing 'Hard Day' instead which was an extra track on the 12 inch version. Also skipped in 1987 were The Tams 'There Ain't Nothing Like Shaggin''. The Shag was an American dance and the lyrics go: "There ain't nothin' like shaggin, when you're shaggin' with the one you love". I'm sure they were having a cheeky laugh. The song just missed the top 20. :D TH_ODa805D0 It's actually a pretty good track. The Tams date back to the 1960's and had a No.1 in 1971 with 'Hey Girl Don't Bother Me'.

Xmas Songs - Love them or Hate them?
I agree about 1984 being a great year for Christmas tracks in the Top 40. Around a quarter of the songs were Christmas/novelty. Even Alvin Stardust made it with a less well known 'So Near To Christmas'. Pretty cheesy but I liked it. Surprised no-one's mentioned George Michael's 'December Song' from 2 or 3 years back. I really like that. Like Coldplay's 'Christmas Lights' he just missed the Top 10...even after an X Factor performance!
