  1. The only downer is I think "Heartbreak Hotel" wasn't elligable for the chart as it came with the box!!
  2. Crikey, I never knew this! I can't really understand it 'cos what did George have to lose??
  3. It's so true Carole. I've almost given up on music radio. I listen to Talk Sport (When they're not actually talkin' sport....the political stuff's great) and Talk 107 ( A scottish talk station which broadcasts to Central Scotland)! At least you get some great debates!! :D Oh "Burning love"...the last release!! I'm sure it'll go Top 20 a week on Sunday!
  4. Yep Carole, Elvis shifts almost no Downloads. Radio 1 DJ's don't understand this concept 'cos a couple of weeks ago Fearne said that Elvis was charting on Downloads only!!! You get the feeling that if Radio 1 could get away with it they would happily not play Elvis at all!! The Top 40 gets played on the music channels and they play everything but when it comes to the Elvis tracks they say they have no footage and can't play him!! Reminds me of when TOTP's couldn't play any of the No 1 re-issues 'cos of the Elvis Estate having a problem with showing footage of him!! I despair!

It's only really gonna be a battle between Leona and Girls Aloud! C'mon the Girls!! :cheer:
  6. Wow, Just checked the midweek updates. Sales are low and Elvis is sitting at No.1 on the "Physical" Top 40!!! :cheer: Probably no need to get too excited 'cos come Sunday he'll have dropped to Top 15 when both Downloads and Physicals are tallyed up! :( Doing well though!!! :yahoo:
  7. Just watched "Janice Dickinson's 12 days of Christmas" on Youtube.....seriously disturbing!!! :o
  8.  Hope!! It's probably the best out of a bad bunch!....then again there's Rhydian!!
  9. Ah Kate! Remember 1980?, "December Will Be Magic Again"
  10. I thought that was a rumour that's proved to be wrong! :(
  11. My copy of "American Trilogy" is numbered 00187!!!! :cheer:
  12. I never thought of that!! It's a shame, 'cos aren't they just cutting off their noses to spite their faces??
  13. I think they'll get to No.11!! Am I too late?
  14. Anyone know why they don't just physically re-release Mariah. It would almost certainly hit Top 5!
  15. Yeah, No.17 made me a bit twitchy but I'm sure the final 2 releases should keep the Top 20 run going!!
  16. I bought the single of that in 1983. They appeared on TOTP and performed the track live. (It's on Youtube). It has a great B side called Quids and Quavers...hilarious!!
  17. Not wanting to lower the tone but who remembers Fat Les " Naughty Christmas" from 1998??? No.21..Oops!!
  18. Well remembered Simon. That was a great track. I'm sure it was released on 2 occasions but never made the Top 30!
  19. Agreed Graham...I would also add John and Yoko's "Happy Xmas (War Is Over)" which also made No.2!
  20. I totally agree about Mariah. In my view it's become a Crimbo Standard and should go along with Xmas hits such as Slade, Wizzard, Wham, Pogues etc!! A modern Christmas Classic! :cheer:
  21. Does ANYONE remember Frank Kelly's (Father Jack from "Father Ted") "Christmas Countdown" from 1983?. It was so awful, it was bad!!! I was only 14 at the time but it still haunts me!! PS It reached 26! It's also known as "12 Days of Xmas"!!
  22. Hee, hee my ex's wee ones loved that one!!
  23. I think "Spaceman.." followed up "Lady in Red" in '86. Deserved much higher than 40 though!
  24. Totally agree! Hopefully Mariah can get into the Top 10 this year on downloads!
  25. Mariah, was unlucky in that she was up against East 17 enjoying their chart career peak with "Stay Another Day"
