BBC Three moves online
so many interesting replies (and i can't really quote all the messages i want to quote, because then i'd be runningthe thread i think the 1 kids channel sounds good, and then BBC can broadcast afterwards- after all, BBC 3 only is on during the evening anyway so it's a waste of channel space during the morning. 1 kids channel would be perfict- though saying that, i think they trialled that all ready with the old BBC choice (or was that just childrens shows and stopped at 7 pm anyway?) i've not watched anything on bbc 4, nothing on their interests me. even the skedule, it looks so boring to the person that asked where to watch family guy and aamerican dad, well: i know fox do it sometimes, and it could be something commedy central would be interested in in the future (seeing as they show a lot of southpark) as for bbc 3 being axed, it probably uses up more money for it's programme content- and let's not forget it was the birth place for some of the biggist commedy shows- gavin and stacy and little britain to name 2. i can't name a single popular show on bbc4, not 1

BBC Three moves online
BBC Three is to be axed and will become a wholly online channel, as part of the BBC's cost-cutting plans. It means shows such as Don't Tell The Bride and Pramface will only be available through the iPlayer, rather than Freeview, satellite or cable. The BBC will make an official announcement on Thursday, media correspondent David Sillito said. Celebrities are already rallying behind the service. Matt Lucas said the move would be "really bad for new comedy". The announcement follows a speech given by BBC director general Tony Hall last week, in which he said "tough choices" would have to be made if the corporation was to meet its savings target. "We are in the final stages of a budget process to find an extra £100m of savings," he said at the Oxford Media Convention. "I will announce the outcome of those decisions in the next month." Before moving BBC Three online, however, the director general must get approval from the BBC Trust, the corporation's governing body, which represents the interests of licence fee payers. 'Sizeable step' The futures of both BBC Three and BBC Four have been much discussed as the corporation continues to implement cost-cutting measures. Continue reading the main story BBC TV channel budgets 2013/14 list of 8 items BBC One: £1,051m BBC Two: £415m BBC Three: £85m BBC Four: £49m CBBC: £79m CBeebies: £29m BBC News Channel: £53m BBC Parliament: £2m list end According to industry newspaper Broadcast, moving BBC Three online "would amount to a sizeable step" towards delivering Lord Hall's £100m savings target by 2016. The channel's service budget was £85m in 2013/14 - although moving the channel online would not eradicate those costs entirely. The move follows the BBC's decision to broadcast select TV shows online ahead of their scheduled TV transmission, among them the latest sitcom from comedian Peter Kay. Since its launch in 2003, BBC Three has been the birthplace of numerous ratings successes, including Little Britain, Torchwood, Being Human and Gavin and Stacey. These were among the shows singled out by Little Britain star Lucas in a tweet proclaiming the channel to be "the home of new comedy and drama". His sentiments were echoed by comedian Jack Whitehall: "I really hope reports that the BBC may kill BBC3 are just rumours. Their support of new comedy in particular is vital." The channel's own Twitter feed also joined the protest, posting on Tuesday night: Who knew people love BBC Three more than pancakes?! Feeling loved. #SaveBBC3". The BBC has previously reversed decisions to close its 6 Music and Asian Network radio services after concerted campaigning by supporters. However, it has closed several foreign language sections of the BBC World Service, with the loss of more than 650 jobs since 2011.

Coach Trip
i am all ready getting coach trip withdrawal (which seems strange,) because it has 2 or so weeks to go yet but i'm always like that!. a tv series i like gets so far in and i'm thinking.... oh my, what am i gonna do when it all ends? even on this board.... i'm so active in the coach trip thread- what will i post about! :( anyway, wouldn't you know it? i read the future. emily and annabelle got the card. (i didn't sneak peek at the episode, promise!) not sure what will happen tonight- but i really hope emily and annabelle don' tgo. the main reason being the reasons they had for voting them were stupid- such as they'd been on the show the longest, or they thought it was a safe vote.. but i've a feeling it's either them or darren and james. i think someone will leave for sure

Coach Trip
the only thing that stood out for me about yesterday's episode (well, not so much the episode, but the comments) a lot of people were going on about what a bad idea it was to show the dolphins as an activity after the programme last year. i didn't read all of it, but i read 1 that said channel 4 should be ashamed to even think of it like dolphins though... inteligent animals i have a feeling that today's yellow card is going to go to emily and annabelle since they've not yet got a yellow card (as pointed out last night)
-
Coach Trip
i'm surprised james and tom have lasted as long as they have to be honest, i was disgusted at them since they made the bad comments at the war site darren and james i guess are okay- at least i've not had a problem with them

Coach Trip
After implying that the group were voting tactically yesterday, Margy and Mandy had a lot to prove on the twelfth day of 'Coach Trip'. As Brendan announced that the first activity of the day would be moving around a tree-top assault course most of the tourists were thrilled, with the tour guide even playing 'Eye of the Tiger' to get blood pumping. However, upon arrival, Mandy was absolutely petrified, revealing that she was afraid of heights and that the activity was her "worst fear ever" so luckily Brendan was on-hand to cheer her on and to offer her some words of encouragement as the rest of the group whizzed around the course. While the others were all rushing around - highlights included Emily forgetting to grab the rope at the end of a zip-line, leaving her suspended in mid-air, and James announcing that he was going around so fast because he was desperate for the toilet - they didn't realise that Mandy was completely paralysed with fear at the start of the course and all offered her a huge amount of support by going back and cheering her on. As Mandy reached the end of the course, Brendan named her "heroine of the day" and the rest of the group were all proud of her efforts. If only her mother hadn't continued to rile up the other tourists, she may have been in with a chance of staying another day… When the group headed on to a cheese and wine tasting session, Margy dramatically ran out of the room after seeing maggots inside of a slab of cheese. To be fair it did look disgusting, but the group thought she was being a bit over-the-top and attention seeking. When she came back she announced to the other travellers that she had been ill but decided to try the cheese (which was replaced with a safer version, where the maggots were removed) any way. Unsurprisingly, she was ill again - Julia even announced on Twitter that Margy vomited in a wine glass at the table - and it annoyed the group that she even tried the delicacy when she knew it would make her ill. It was good to see that James and Tom and Nick and Ben continued on with their friendly rivalries at the activity, where they were pushing each other to try some of the strongest cheeses. However, Darren and James made an intriguing claim when it came to vote time. They were suspicious of the fact that James and Tom and Nick and Ben had voted for the same couples over the last few days and voiced their opinion that they may be voting tactically together. It's difficult to judge whether they had been discussing votes, but looking at their choices over the last few days I think it's probably just a coincidence - especially as there have been some louder characters in recent episodes. After Margy's actions riled the group up in the afternoon, she and Mandy received a red card and proved that when going on 'Coach Trip' it's important to choose partners wisely. Nearly all of the couples that voted for the pair stated that their choice had nothing to do with Mandy, especially after she impressed at the tree-top assault course, so it just goes to show that had she travelled with someone else, she may have lasted more than three days. The episode drew to a close with Darren and James worrying that they may have made themselves vulnerable by claiming that the boys were voting tactically and, considering how upset Nick and Ben were by their accusations, I can't help but think the couple are right to be concerned.

The Television Interregnum
in my view, reality tv has a long way to go (an extremely long way to go) before it dies it's a 2 sided argument 1 side say, oh.. i stop watching the reality tv series because they get old and boring, yet the other side say.. well, look. why can't the shows find new ways to atract their audiences (and that is exactly what they are doing) look at all the new stuff added to big brother since it moved to channel 5. all the new twists and stuff okay, the voice, the X factor, maybe. but that's not stopping shows like big brother, the apprentice, the taste, all those from evolving the thing with reality tv, their is always a new idea- and it's real. that's what people like about it

Coach Trip
After making a big impression on the previous episode of 'Coach Trip', Margy and Mandy continued to unsettle the rest of the tourists as they arrived at the Italian island of Sardinia. The pair landed themselves in trouble with James and Tom as Brendan asked each couple to state one fact they had learnt about another pair. James was very unimpressed when Margy said that Tom had a "deep soul" but that he didn't and the boys commented that the newcomers were "too loose with their tongues". The first activity of the day saw the travellers at an Italian lesson where the tourists asked the tutors to translate some phrases for them. While Emily went for the strange translation of "you're as smart as a carrot", Nick used the opportunity to flirt again. Brendan mocked him away from the group, telling the camera "he's desperate to get a girlfriend but I don't think he'll get one on this trip" but, yet again, his target seemed impressed with his charm. After learning a few key phrases Brendan took the group to a local market, where he tasked them with buying fruit for him. Most struggled, but Emily finally found out the translation for "carrot" as she borrowed an English-Italian dictionary from a stallholder and began looking up other random words. At the market, Brendan introduced the newest pair to the group - paganists Ceci and Denise. They made quite the first impression, even saying they're "part time fairies but sometimes trolls under a bridge." Annabelle commented that she'd be "scared to vote for them" in case they put a spell on her but for the most part they seemed to get on well with their fellow travellers. When on a break for lunch, Ceci and Denise and Margy and Mandy were sat together and it was immediately clear why they've been put on the coach at the same time. It appeared to be harmonious but, with such differing views, the peace between them might not last long. The second activity of the day, sea kayaking, was just what the tourists were hoping for after spending the day under the warmth of the Sardinian sunshine. Mandy didn't take part in the task for health reasons and many of the other tourists noted their disappointment that she didn't join in. The activity looked like great fun and even the locals were laughing and pointing as the tourists were tumbling out of their kayaks. Brendan noticed that James and Annabelle were flirtatiously messing about and James admitted that he was "treating her mean to keep her keen" but I don't see the flirtation progressing into anything more. When it came to vote time, Margy and Mandy unsurprisingly received a yellow card but their fellow tourists were unimpressed with their comments that the rest of the group were a clique and they were always going to receive a yellow card. It wouldn't be surprising if Margy and Mandy get a whitewash at tomorrow's vote after their implied comments, especially as they riled Darren and James up by voting for them because they thought they were "safe" even though the couple already have a yellow card. Had they been more gracious at vote time the other contestants may have warmed to Margy and Mandy but after their outburst, and knowing what 'Coach Trip' is like, the rest of the group will probably turn on them tomorrow without hesitation.

Postman Pat: The Movie
probably the only one, but i'm so excited for this. been watching some of the trailers scattered around the internet all ready- and i can't wait! yep.... totally a child at heart
-
What do you look for most in a film?
for me, it's usually about actors or actresses that i like. for example, bradley cooper was in limitless, and also in silver lineing's playbook (which is the main reason i watched the latter) the same goes for people like tom hanks or johny dep i also look for story. something will hold my attention (i've a very short attention span) if it's got a lot of shooting or car chases, chances are i won't watch it- but if i feel that the movie can provide some commedy, or it features someone i like, i'll watch it but i always read the storyline. always. when someone says... have you seen such and such? i'll google it first and read about it to see if i'm interested. always the case

ROMANTIC movies
they have a channel... sky movie valentines. it's actually enough for me to keep away from any of the movie channels until it goes away but hmm let's see i love the daniele stiel movies. they are usually pretty romantic a lot of people will probably disagree when i say the terminal- but i think the love between victor and amelia is lovely bridget jones (which i've seen a lot of times)

2014 Winter Olympics

Coach Trip
today's eppisode started off very quietly, as their were only 4 couples on the coach. they wanted more life to join them it didn't take long, however for the first new couple, margery and mandy, to join mandy admitted that she liked food fights, which wasn't a good idea, seeing as the first activity of the day was pizza making sure enough, mandy started throwing her ingredients- and brendan was totally not impressed by it!. he shared his thoughts that she wouldn't last long if things like that carried on. in the afternoon, a second couple, roy and julia were introduced. the activity was a tour of a museum. roy admitted that he only had 1 goal- by the time he left the coach, julia wouldn't be mad at him! vote time was difficult, seeing as only 4 couples could be picked. it ended up a 2 way tie between nick and ben, and darren and james- with darren and james getting the yellow card as the coach drove on, brendan had an anouncement- the passengers would be spending the night on a ferry. mandy was really not impressed by that, at all

Coach Trip
After Carol's bout of illness at the end of yesterday's 'Coach Trip', the rest of the passengers spent the morning speculating about whether she and Bill would be returning to travel further into Italy. After a chat with Bill, Brendan delivered the bad news that he and Carol were advised to go home after she was checked over at the hospital. Hopefully she recovered well, and it's a shame that the pair only got to spend 6 ½ hours on the trip. The departure of the newest pair worried the rest of the travellers as it meant that, at the end of the day, they would have to vote for friends and to turn on the allies that they had made so far. The group had little time to ponder their choices, however, as the coach was pulled over by police while en route to Genoa. What started as a joke - Ben teased that Brendan was excited to be pulled over by the boys in blue - turned very serious as driver Paul announced that the police wanted them to pay 2000 euros in cash. Fortunately, they were let away with a warning as Annabelle worried that she only had four euros on her! The tourists headed on to their first activity which offered a prize a little more exciting than yesterday's bookmark - the passengers were asked to make their own pesto sauce (after a cookery lesson thankfully, although that didn't help a few of the contestants!) and the winner got an invite to the Pesto World Championships, where they would put their recipe in as a contender. There were varying degrees of success, and lots of competitiveness, when the tourists found out they were in with a chance of returning to Italy, but it was Tom who ended up taking the prize. While on the way to the next activity there was an extremely frosty tension between Sandra and Ben, as Sandra accused Ben of playing mind games with her as he kept kicking her under the table. Obviously you can't tell what happened without being there, but the argument did seem quite unprovoked to me. I think it may have been a case of Sandra being extremely tired and reading into things further than she should. The confrontation seemed to make the other passengers feel uncomfortable and it probably wasn't the best idea after she was given a yellow card yesterday. Fortunately, the second activity eased tensions slightly as the group went on to hold their own 'Coach Trip go-karting championships'. The tourists all wanted to win and there was a lot of competition between the boys - Nick and Tom nearly knocked each other off of the course, James just wanted to beat Tom after his best friend won the earlier challenge, and Darren and James ended up having a bit of a lovers tiff… However, it was Emily who provided the most laughs. Bless her, she was extremely cautious going around the course and all of the other travellers had no qualms about laughing at her. James eventually won and was chuffed that he and Tom came first in both events of the day. Unsurprisingly, after the earlier argument, Sandra and Silvana were awarded a red card at vote time. They obviously made a good impression as everyone was incredibly sad to see them go and it was sweet that Sandra said the highlight of her trip was getting to know Silvana, her son's girlfriend, better. You would never know that they weren't close when they joined and it's lovely that they got to know each other in such a unique, and memorable, way.

adrian chiles promises £5 to viewers
Adrian Chiles's big mouth has got him in trouble after he promised £5 to viewers who were watching a boring FA Cup tie. The ITV4 presenter was covering a replay between Fulham and Sheffield United, which resulted in a 0-0 draw at full time. At half time in extra time, Chiles said that any viewers who hadn't fallen asleep could to write in and he would send them a fiver. However, Sheffield went on to win 1-0, and several viewers tweeted to request their cash. One viewer wrote: "Hi @ITV Adrian Chiles said if anyone was watching they'd get £5 sent out to them. How do I go about claiming this? Cheers", while another added: "Adrian Chiles promises everyone still watching @itv4 £5. There are four of us watching here... ;)". Another went even further: "Adrian Chiles owes me £5 for sticking with this game as promised then... I'll also claim £4.38 for having to listen to Clarke Carlisle #zzzz" Another viewer, Peter Hyam, even got as far as emailing ITV, writing: "I'm currently watching Fulham v Sheffield United on ITV4. It's an awful game. Possibly the worst I've ever seen. But I'm still persisting. At half time in extra time Adrian Chiles said 'if you're still watching, write in and we'll send you a fiver each'. This is obviously a stupid thing for any presenter to say - ans I doubt it was on the cue cards. However, I'd like my fiver please. If not then I shall formally complain about your dreadful presenter lying to the one viewer. I'd prefer it in cash or cheque … Alternatively a signed photo of Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield would do." Time for Chiles to put his money where his mouth is?

Coach Trip
After yesterday's not-so-shocking departure of Mark and Kelly, there was a much lighter mood on the coach on day eight, which was brightened even more by the return of tour guide Brendan Sheerin. Despite leaving a little earlier than planned due to an unexpected fire alarm, the group were soon setting off on their 128 mile trip to Turin. The passengers handed over some homemade 'get well soon' cards to the tour guide and, in true 'Coach Trip' style, the group gave a tuneless rendition of the country's national anthem as they crossed the border into Italy. Brendan excitedly announced to the tourists that they would be spending the morning playing the popular Italian sport hitball. There was some confusion about what it was and things weren't looking positive as they rolled up to an extremely run down stadium, which Tom described as "slightly derelict". Brendan encouraged the group to "hope for the best" and they did make the most of their morning by playing very competitively. Even Cornish couple Darren and James embraced the activity after saying "we don't know what sport it is. It's just the back of the newspapers, isn't it?" After a break for lunch the tourists headed to the second location of the day - a world famous Egyptian museum. I don't understand why they would go to an Egyptian museum in Italy, but Brendan was optimistic that they could all learn a thing or two. There, the latest couple were introduced. Carol and Bill, friends from West Yorkshire, joined and immediately made an impression. Bill announced that he was a comedian while Carol said that she was retired and loving it. Despite both having partners, they decided to apply together as their loved ones didn't want to take part in the show. The group had a little look around the museum and conspiracy theorist James began to claim that aliens helped to build the pyramids - he even started looking for any sign of the creatures in the ancient hieroglyphics. At the same time Brendan was trying to convince Annabelle that mummified bodies were corpses, but she wasn't having any of it. Brendan then set the contestants a comical challenge - use one toilet roll to mummify each other. The international tour guide extraordinaire used the opportunity to use his power, and to throw out one of his catchphrases, disqualifying both Nick and Ben and James and Darren for using extra rolls. He declared Sandra and Silvana to be the winners and awarded them with a bookmark, not the best prize I'm sure you'd agree. When it came to vote time Sandra and Silvana were given their first yellow card, but they were quite accepting of the majority of their nominations as their friends noticed that they were quieter during the day and clearly missing their family. However, Sandra didn't take as kindly to Bill and Carol's comments that they didn't seem to want to be there as she noted it's hard to come to that judgement after only an hour. The tourists then headed on to their hotel for the night and Bill and Carol claimed that they were already tired after only a few hours. As the episode ended, Carol took a turn for the worse and was picked up by an ambulance - here's hoping she'll be alright when the show continues tomorrow.
