The Flood vs These Days
I may be mistaken, but I have a feeling nowadays Gary's name holds a much bigger selling power than the Take That brand. But I agree that, at the time SISYL was released, had TT released it, it would have sold over a million copies - although it's really hard to picture than album as a TT one, since most songs are extremely personal.

The Band Musical - Winners of Let it Shine
The show should begin in January 2017. I'm curious what set of skills they'll be looking for. They have to be careful, cause they can't transform this into a singing contest - the backlash would be terrible.

Cry - Take That & Sigma
Unfortunately, now that CRy was taken off BBC's playlists, I think we'll see it plummet :(
-
Cry - Take That & Sigma
It's 41 :( I find it so unfair. Adele is 15 and TT are 41 - on iTunes they're only 1-2 places aside. Streaming is clearly making all the difference. On sales alone, they're 16, while Adele is 13 - that, in my opinion, is a better reflection of reality than the chart positions based on sales+streaming.

Cry - Take That & Sigma
I'm staying optimist and choose to believe that Gary's "bossiness" can sway the other 2 in the right direction. Everything he's released lately has been of quality, I hope this won't change with Take That.

Cry - Take That & Sigma
I'm split: love the acoustic part, hate the electronic one. We'll wait and see how it plays out.

Cry - Take That & Sigma
Cry falling 2 places in a few days can only be due to streaming, cause its iTunes position has been the same for almost a week now.

Three vs Progress
I'd give anything to hear Gary sing HBTT one more time  At least we got to hear him sing Nobody Else several times since the comeback.
-
Three vs Progress
No, no, I wasn't referring to you. I meant it in general, because I know that NE isn't very highly rated by most fans and that The Circus is. And it was meant as a joke :)
-
Three vs Progress
I didn't mean to imply that NE is better than their albums post 2005, I was just saying that, for me, it's their best album from the 90s. But I do like it more than the Circus, don't throw stones at me :P

The Flood vs These Days
Well, you know where I stand with I'd Wait for Life, but I agree that Like I Never Loved You at All is a better song and I'd have loved for it to be a single.

The Flood vs These Days
Some of them weren't singles, Kath :) But, since you mentioned them, I like She Said and Reach Out too. I find it every interesting that most of us like Patience better than RTW. I've been under the impression that most fans believed RTW to be TT's best single to date.

The Flood vs These Days
Nope, you have company :) It's one of my favorites, to be honest.

The Flood vs These Days
I think we can all agree that Do What You Like is their best single to date...actually, it's the best single ever  If only they could recreate the magic of that video... :P

Poll: which 10 songs should make the final cut for a tour
I agree. I'm hoping that, with the BBC show, things will change a little- maybe the contestants will perform some TT songs the boys themselves never performed. It's not the same and it's not ideal, but at least the world will get to know more of their music.

The Flood vs These Days
I agree, but that doesn't mean that The Flood and These Days aren't equally good. OK, if we perceive RTW and Patience as being better songs, we can still rate The Flood and These Days with an 8/10. I just think 6/10 and 5/10 are for really mediocre songs. That would mean most artists' songs don't even reach a 3/10.
-
The Flood vs These Days
6/10 and 5/10 for those songs... Just out of curiosity: what would be a 9/10 or even 10/10?

Three vs Progress
Personally, for me, it's bewildering that Nobody Else is fans' least favorite album from the 90's. The album has some of their best songs: BFG, Nobody Else, Holding Back the Tears, Never Forget, even Sunday to Saturday. Just like I don't get the attraction of the Circus - the only song that's memorable for me from that album is Circus and maybe Hello and Hold Up a Light, to a certain extent - but when I put those songs next to the mature ones from III, I find myself surprised that III is some fans' least favorite album. In my opinion, Will You Be There for Me, Freeze, HTH, Flaws, Carry Me Home and a few others are by far superior material to anything that's on The Circus. But I guess we all have different tastes. Which means the boys will struggle to find a middle ground for their next album:)

The opening number for the Tonys
I thought it was great - it had all the ingredients: touchy-feely in certain parts, hilarious in most parts -"spoiler alert: HE dies" , it had a message...And even the critics liked it, they said it was the second best opening of the Tonys. I've never seen the one they thought was the best ever, but, by their logic, Gary had some big shoes to fill and, considering he's just getting his teeth in musicals, he nailed it. People certainly seemed to love it: 95% of the reactions have been more than positive. the video already has over 2 million views: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PRVwHP__qMM This collab might even get Gary a spot again on James's show. All in all, a very smart move.

Dylan, I miss reading your opinions on this forum!

Poll: which 10 songs should make the final cut for a tour
I've made a mess of that poll, that's what happens when you start it around midnight  My intention was to leave out the singles and Jason's leads - now we have 3 songs in that poll that shouldn't have been there. Oh well, at least, we'll see the general consensus amongst people on this forum as to what they'd like to hear on a tour.

Poll: which 10 songs should make the final cut for a tour
I hadn't realized LAHA had been a single, I shouldn't have included it on the list. I like the song too, it has a very classic, vintage sound to it. But I'd choose it over other songs only if Gary sang it the same way he did on the Ultimate tour - with those amazing final notes. I see we have a few songs that are detaching themselves from the others: Holding Back the Tears, 8 Letters, Said It All and Will You Be There For Me. - love all of them, even if I didn't vote for 8 Letters and Said It All (again, because I really really want them to sing, just once, some of the songs they've never sung). How did it come to this is a beautiful song (though Flowerbed and Wooden Boat are better Jason songs), but I wonder who would take on Jason's lead parts in case they ever decide to perform one of his tracks live.

Poll: which 10 songs should make the final cut for a tour
I only allowed 10 choices in the idea that, if the boys ever let fans choose part of the setlist, it should be fair - the boys get to decide their half of the setlist and we get to choose the rest (they're usually doing around 20-22 songs). I'd have chosen a lot more myself, dylan :) There are 2 songs that I desperately want to hear live: WYBTFM and Don't Say Goodbye and then a lot of songs I really love- unfortunately I had to leave out Flaws, despite it being one of my favorites. I thought that we had the chance to hear Flaws live, so I opted for songs we've never heard before live.
