  1. I chose only tracks that have not been singles and I tried to be objective and I included almost all songs where Mark and Howard have leads, so that all fans have their fair share of options. Choose only 10 songs from the list!
  2. Both suggestions are good. Rule the World vs the winner of this poll - or we could try Rule the World against all 3 of them: Patience, The Flood and These Days. You never know what fans might prefer. Pippa, you could also try a poll with multiple choices for tracks that were not singles from all albums - and we could have the option to vote, let's say, only 5 songs in that list. We may even find out what people would truly like to hear on a tour.
  3. The Flood may win, but These Days is certainly giving it a good run for its money, which is actually the interesting part :) Now that the score is drawing so close, I feel like I've been betting on a team all this time
  4. I know it sounds a bit hypocritical since I voted for These Days, but I would have thought that The Flood would win this easily - maybe because its sales were better or because it sounds more epic. It just shows that whatever makes a song more popular with an audience remains a mystery. For whatever reason, hearing These Days puts a smile on my face and makes me wanna dance. It's probably one of my favorite singles, after BFG, HTH and Patience. It would be interesting to have a poll for These Days and Rule the World :)
  5. No  Hamilton will win everything probably. Going by what I've heard on the Carpool with James, the songs aren't even as good as those in FN. So unfair
  6. Another impressive project for Gary's cv. I'm looking forward to seeing how it pans out. James sounds pretty excited about it. http://www.digitalspy.com/showbiz/theatre/...maintwitterpost https://www.facebook.com/Broadway/videos/10...=message_bubble
  7. These Days for me too. While I admit that, from a songwriting perspective, The Flood is a better piece of music, I find myself enjoying much more These Days and I find the lyrics more inspiring. The problem with The Flood and most of Progress is that they don't connect with the public on an emotional level, because they are too nostalgic, too autobiographical, waaay too personal - in general, that should be a good thing, but, considering they're talking about experiences that maybe 2% of the globe's population goes through, it's quite difficult to relate. Therefore, my vote goes to These Days :)
  8. I'm the awkward one here :D For me, III remains TT's best album to date. WYBTFM, HTH, Flaws, These Days, Freeze, Fall Down at Your Feet, they're all mature, beautiful songs that, for me, exceed everything on Progress. Though, I have to admit, Don't Say Goodbye remains my second favorite TT song of all times. But, I've been having an u-turn as well :D I've realized that I like Progress(ed) way better than Circus - for me, that's the worst TT album.
  9. It charted in top 40 (top 5 on sales), it's been playlisted by both R1 an R2 - which is an achievement in itself . Only naysayers call this an embarrassment.
  10. They would need a TV slot to promote the song, but, with Gary being busy for the upcoming weeks, it doesn't look like it will happen. It's a shame, cause the reaction to the song has been mostly positive and it could have done well if handled correctly.
  11. Could this be for his new BBC show? http://www.bristolpost.co.uk/Gary-Barlow-p...tail/story.html He sang CIBM - the ballad version: https://www.facebook.com/gavyn.emery.9/vide...82975285378345/
  12. The live performance: For dylan62 and Jay: at 4:24, everyone seems to be chanting Gary's name :)
  13. I love the song, but I don't understand that video one bit. I'm just like you, Cat, I couldn't care less about cars. That aside, though, what's the connection between the visuals and the song? What do cars have to do with love? Anyway, a video is good exposure for the song, so, thank goodness it's finally out.
  14. The top 10 in the official charts says it all, really :P For the life of me, I can't understand who's buying such rubbish as No money or Work from home or whatever else is in top 10.
  15. No 5 on the sales chart and it missed top 20
  16. Sorry, I don't know in which thread to post and it's also not worth opening a new thread, so I hope nobody minds for me leaving this little gem here: https://www.facebook.com/GodGaryBarlow/vide...82686048444918/ Both fans and detractors can have a little laugh
  17. No, Simon has booked Louisa feat Clean Bandit for the BGT final. I won't say a word about that :)
  18. Cry is A listed by Radio 2.
  19. I also said I wouldn't post anything else related to the topic, but I feel I have to "defend" Dylan62. Reaching a consensus doesn't mean we all have to agree on everything and we all have to share the same opinions. All she - and I,as well - wanted was for people to stop coming with subjective, unfounded accusations. When we usually address an honest question, we get sarcastic replies, that try to be humorous and witty instead of a serious, factual answer. I think that's where the problem resides. All we heard on this thread was that Gary was hogging the limelight. OK, that was a point of debate. We ask why certain posters have this opinion, we get answered that it's because Gary has lead vocals; we point out that that's been the case since the 90s and that there have been numerous instances where Gary has willingly stepped back and given some of his best songs to his bandmates and other factual proves, we get replied that he is, actually, imposing his will on Mark and Howard and hiding their voices behind a choir on purpose - it's when we reach this level of dialogue that I feel we have to step back. I, for one, haven't made a secret of the fact I'm not a fan of Mark's and I always said why - the cheating scandal, the limited vocal range and him mocking Gary with Robbie back in the 90s. When I ask why certain people have it in so badly for Gary, I get replied that it's because he's arrogant, smug, selfish and other subjective reasons, that can't actually be substantiated. That's it. I hope I made my position - and I believe dylan's (I hope she's not mad at me for speaking on her behalf) - clear. I don't expect everyone to agree with me, I just want a mature dialogue. I realize that, on most forums, there's more of a competition of witty, funny comments rather than a serious dialogue, but I had the feeling that, on this forum, we had another level of conversation.
  20. I'm following in your footsteps :)
  21. Agree with gooddelta. You'd think, by the reaction of Sigma's fans, that the guys used to do opera and they now suddenly sold their soul to the devil by collaborating with Take That. Dance music is as commercial as music can get. If anything, their collaboration with TT is a step up from their collab with Rita Ora. Cry actually has substance and is not just another catchy dance track. Very happy to see the track doing so well on the sales chart. Now, if only streaming would pick up... Since yesterday, a lot of radio stations have started playing Cry, including Capital and Kiss Fm, which, I think, is a major achievement for the boys.
  22. Well, if that criticism were founded....
  23. So, when you were saying "No, I don't think it was behind their backs. It was right in front of them. It would be like: "Hey Mark and Donald, you just stand there while Gary sings the song and takes the limelight again. Join in the backing vocals if you like, but we will turn down your amps anyway!" , you were actually paying a compliment to Gary?
  24. I'm not a big fan of Mark and Howard's, individually, but I was the first one to point that out during the tour. From what I understand, it was their choice to dance instead of singing, like they should have, so...when they put themselves in that position, I don't get their fans' indignation towards Gary.
