New Album 'III', lead single 'These Days'
Same old setlist in Bangkok :banghead:  https://www.facebook.com/257023904330019/ph...e=3&theater Why can't they do, for once, at least a couple of songs they've never performed live? They could have tried some of the new songs: WYBTFM or Carry Me Home or Freeze. Not to mention the poor BW album always being paid dust too. I usually love the boys, but, whenever I see the setlist, I could strangle them.

Take That & Westlife
It's only 2 of them, pippa. This sounds like a car crash, no matter how many members get involved, imo.

Take That & Westlife
This is just too weird - what are they gonna sing, who'll take the lead? They could sing Boyzone songs, cause Westlife are used to covers :P I know, I know, that was mean :D Aside from the fans, the rest of the world will perceive this as the ultimate act of desperation. That's another reason I like TT for: they have revolving doors only for the founding members - it's either them or nobody.

Take That & Westlife
I was a BSB fan (actually a Nick Carter fan when I was a kid, shamefully :P), but the last I heard from them was when they released Incomplete. I know they have released stuff since then, but I honestly can't name one single song of theirs from this era. Personally, for me, BSB are a teenage crush and nothing more. Certainly, I can't say any of their songs holds a deep meaning for me. They probably were the biggest boyband in the world at one point, but right now, I think they're exclusively a USA phenomenon. But I could be wrong and maybe the rest of Europe has kept the pace with them.

I found the Ivors guidelines: http://basca.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/The...0Guidelines.pdf Yes, DI would have stood a chance had the record company submitted it :( This year, it's also too late for TT or Gary to get any Ivors if no one submitted anything from them. The deadline for entry was February, 5. I've had that feeling for a while now, dylandog. TT clearly are no longer a priority for Universal, which is baffling, considering they're one of the acts with a fairly steady fanbase and they're prone to make the record company lots of money if promoted properly.

The problem with the Ivors is that the song has to chart in top 75 or be on an album that charted inside top 75, as far as I'm aware. Plus, somebody has to submit the song and I doubt Gary would have submitted his own work himself. But I agree that Dying Inside deserves an Ivor. For me, that song is the benchmark against which everything else is compared. I realize that a song like that comes once in a lifetime, but I'd be happy if all the other songs would try to approach the same level of honesty and raw emotion. I regret that fans didn't rally and submit DI to the Ivors in 2013 - we could have all pitched in and paid the administration fee. I agree that whatever TT put out from now on has to be outstanding in order for the boys to get some more awards. It's a shame that they eliminated the Best Live Act category, cause that is where the boys truly blow everyone else out of the water.

I get this. But my point was that, if the same rules apply to everyone, Adele's album should have been up for nominations and awards in 2017. That's all. I realize that, in the industry, money talks and sales are almighty, but, if there are some formal rules of organization, I would expect them to be applied to everyone. III didn' t qualify for the Brits in 2015, because it was brought out too late in 2014 (or so they said); therefore, anyone would assume that, if Adele released her album in November/December 2015, then it shouldn't be eligible for the 2016 Brits. They could have given her all the awards they wanted, as far as I'm concerned (not that I believe that 25 is worthy of that many accolades), as long as they respected the rules and did it in 2017. That's what really makes me angry, not so much the fact that TT have been unjustly snubbed. You're actually right; they seem to make the "rules" as they go along. To be fair, for me, III is holding up quite well and I'm now sure I like it better than BW, for the simple fact that it sounds more mature and less neutral.

I, for one, believe that III (bar Hey Boy) is far superior to 25. If 25 - that got the same kind of reviews that III did - could win 4 Brits, surely TT could at least have been nominated. Anyway, the point I was making was that, if III wasn't eligible in 2014, then 25 shouldn't have been eligible this year, that simple. It's just a matter of principle. I guess TT would have to die to get a shot at some acknowledgement from these snobs.

Probably the year they stop having double standards, Jay :D 2 years ago, TT's album wasn't eligible because it was released too late, but this year, Adele's album won 4 awards despite having been released around the same time as TT's. If that doesn't talk of hypocrisy and snobbery, I don't know what will.

The Band Musical - Winners of Let it Shine
I agree with you, Kath. I can't stand these shows either - I never look at X Factor or The Voice, not even here in Romania, where the format is relatively new and successful. My hope is that Gary comes up with something new and different. His record label did go bankrupt after all because he was genuinely interested in investing in real talent, unlike Cowell who drops an artist when the money isn't satisfactory.

The Band Musical - Winners of Let it Shine
At this point, any show would be more successful than The X Factor :P I imagine Gary wants to discover singer-songwriters. That's what I hope the show is about. It would be pointless to have another karaoke style show on tv. People are sick of the XF and The Voice.

The Band Musical - Winners of Let it Shine
Tbh, if Gary doesn't quit making music, this news makes me extremely happy, cause I'm having serious Barlow withdrawal symptoms right now :P

Why?
Maybe the Las Vegas shows will inspire them and they'll write a new album during that period. At least that's what I'm hoping. It wouldn't be wise for them to stay away from the European limelight for too long.
-
Why?
There are talks of a Las Vegas residency for Take That. Is this true? It is still premature and might not be happening until 2017. It's something we're incredibly proud to be asked to do and are very excited about. We're talking a type of show in Vegas that we won't be doing anywhere else in the world and we'll be doing it for a few years, so we're really looking forward to that. I think it's a step forward in the band's career by broadening our horizons and going to a new country. We will be doing a bespoke Vegas show and it will be very theatrical. http://news.asiaone.com/news/showbiz/take-...G0LmVq.xLe85LFi.

Why?
They've been speaking about this new album since last year. Personally, I'm glad they're doing it this year. They can't afford anymore to have big gaps between albums. People would forget about them and move on. Besides, I think they're trying to get creative as long as they can do it. Gary said that the Las Vegas residence is due to last several years, so I doubt they'll be putting out new music during that time :( The 2012 album would have probably happened had Jason made up his mind. But at least we got Gary's solo album in 2013 :D

Why?
There's something about airplay that I don't get: why do radios prefer to play older singles than newer ones? I find it a bit strange that they'd rather play Could It Be Magic or Relight or I Found Heaven (really?????) instead of Said It All, for example. I can understand BFG, but It Only Takes A Minute over Hold Up A Light or When We Were Young or Kidz? It makes no sense. You do start to wonder what a single must sound like in order to be played by radios. It's surprising that These Days is getting almost as much airplay as Rule the World and it's their 2nd most played single. http://comparemyradio.com/artists/Take_That/tracks I'm still waiting for Romanians to catch up with UK radios and with this century :)) This week, for the 1st time EVER, Never Forget was played on one of our tv channels - and the biggest one at that, on one of the most watched shows. But it's usually BFG that gets played constantly here.

Why?
Let In the Sun would have charted decently had the promotion not been such a disaster. The physicals went to no 1, but that was useless since they were released a week later than the digital version. There have been a lot of wasted opportunities over time :( Tbh, I don't have many regrets for the 2nd and 3rd single from Progress, but I do feel sad that the singles from III were handled so badly. Higher than Higher could have as well never happened - not even fans knew about its release. And I agree with the lack of b-sides being an important factor in the decline of their singles sales. I did buy their single cd-s, but they've remained unsealed, because I already have the tracks from the album. Whoever is buying nowadays their single cd-s is doing it out of loyalty and because they are collectioners, but the casual buyer has absolutely no reason to invest 5 or 10 pounds in a simple track. I've seen lots of artists release 2 or 3 singles before their album. Maybe that's a strategy TT should try as well? They could try releasing 2 singles in 5 weeks and then drop the album. PS: Does anyone know why Never Forget - the Ultimate Collection has been in top 100 on iTunes for over a week now? What brought this surge on?

Take That to reunite?
Unless you approach a very personal subject - lyrically- every song is, to a certain extent, generic. But if we apply that notion to songs like Ascension, then what term do we use for 1D, Justin Bieber, Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, Olly, Britney, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, Adele and so on? Given the theme of the movie, the soundtrack fits like a glove. And the string section is sooo beautiful and the crescendo so dramatic that I can't help but feel entranced and moved. Of course not everyone will like the song, but I don't think it's right to call it generic either. It's not exactly a commercial song and I don't see radios hurrying to play it. I, for one, like it and I'm intrigued to hear what the rest of the album sounds like. As for TT and Robbie needing each other, I agree to it from a certain point of view: TT need Robbie business wise, to sell more, and Robbie needs TT creatively. But that's it. Robbie will probably continue to sell well no matter what he puts out and TT will continue to create music as they please and to tour, no matter what the sales. And Jason - well, he only needs to buy himself a park with lots of benches :P I doubt he'll ever be in need of money. It would be good if he agreed to do at least one gig with the boys again.

Take That to reunite?
I love Ascension. It sounds very dramatic and rockish. When I first heard it, I thought it would be a good song for Eurovision - but in a good way. People have been saying that Gary keeps his best work for TT, but lately, I have the impression that his best work has been the one he's done for others. The songs for all the musicals and for the movie, to me at least. sound better and more mature than what he's done with TT. Take That to reunite?
Laura, this has nothing to do with the Gary-Robbie relationship. The fact that they may be friends doesn't mean that TT fans have to start liking Robbie from a musical point of view. As far as I'm concerned, I'm happy that Gary and Robbie made up, but, to me, Robbie will always have an unlikeable personality and voice. Gary is also friends with Harry Styles - that does not mean that Gary's fans have to like him or want him on the band. We can still make up our own minds. We have to learn to distinguish between the boys' private life and their career. If reunion plans are delayed because of Robbie, that's a sign that he couldn't care less about TT and he has no respect for their history.
-
Take That to reunite?
Ditto :) If the news is true, I'm a bit revolted. Why let the member who does not celebrate 25 years of TT decide? And I really don't get this whole "we're celebrating 25 years of TT" when the only TT members who actually were there for this whole time were Gary, Mark and Howard. PS: Elisabeth, TT did not play to 5000 people in Germany, I know this for a fact!

Take That to reunite?
As I've said, my opinion is irrelevant and the boys should do whatever makes them happy. I'm not opposed to an one off show where they all reunite. On the contrary, I think that should happen and it would literally make everyone happy. The only thing I wouldn't be up to - but I respect the fact that many, maybe even most, fans would feel otherwise - is another album like Progress where Robbie takes over or a tour centred around Robbie. But I repeat myself, the boys will decide what audience suits them best. I'm sure they won't care too much if I or other fans don't invest in their new project. All I can do is say how I feel about it, I don't expect that my opinion count in any way. The only thing I found annoying was to be labelled as a hater just for not liking the idea of TT5 again. I haven't made a secret of the fact that I don't like Robbie's voice or attitude, but it's a long way from this to saying that I hate him. I was surprised to see that Robbie's fans' reaction to the news was more vicious than TT's fans'. I doubt TT fans actually hate Robbie, but Robbie's fans really seem to hate TT fans. I almost expect a match - like fight at their TT5 gig, like it usually happens on stadiums between supporters of football teams :D People need to remember that, in the end, it's just music and they could show their lack of support by simply not buying records or tickets. I know that nobody on this forum has said anything, but the arguments on this subject have been so numerous since the potential reunion has been announced that they seemed to become the focus point instead of the debated fact itself.

Take That to reunite?
There have already been many meltdowns and drama in the fandom since the news emerged :D My stand is the same as yours, dylandog. There's no point in repeating what I think of the reunion or what I like. I think the decision on both parts has to be an informed one: TT need to know where the fans stand about the reunion, just as fans have a right to know what it will happen. What I or other fans think of Robbie's return may prove to be irrelevant, as the boys might decide that their audience is primarily made of fans of TT5, but I disliked some people's attitude of branding everyone who is against Robbie returning as "haters". As a buyer, I have a right to say what I want to pay for, what I'd like to listen to. Nobody can make the boys NOT reunite if they wish so, but also nobody can force me or others to be on board with it and buy the album regardless of whether Robbie is on it or not. The boys need to be aware that the support is not "unconditional", harsh as it may sound. I support them as much as I can, but if they ask me to pay half of a month's salary for hearing Robbie shout and scream, then I'll have to say no. I actually LISTEN to music and I have yet to pay to get headaches or ear bleedings :P

Finding Neverland musical
I'd be happy if this song (well, any song from FN) charted under any form. My money would have been on Christina's Anywhere But Here, but nothing seems to be happening on that front :/ Maybe Zendaya has more luck and enough fans to transform this song into a hit.

New Album 'III', lead single 'These Days'
I think I read on fb that the Singapore gig will have the same production as the III tour. I don't know if it's true, though. Knowing the size of the venue would play a big role in determining whether this rumour is true or not. But either way, I'm sure the fans will love the gig.
