Take That & Westlife
To be fair, they're not so far from the truth :D Aside from the fact that I quite like that song - I'd probably like it even more if it were sung by someone with some kind of life form in their eyes -, Gary did say that he had shelved that song and the label just stumbled on it and decided to go with it for WL. It's not like Gary actually wrote that song with WL in mind. If they were foolish enough to accept it, now their fans should just stop moaning. I don't DISLIKE WL, I just don't find anything to like about them :P There's one thing I can't forgive them for and that's that they ruined You Raise Me Up. I love that song when sung by Josh Groban, I find it meh when sung by WL. They could have sold 100 million more copies than TT and I still would have preferred TT. It's rare that I like just singers. I like to know that whatever an artist is singing comes from him/her.

Will TT release a following III EP like Progressed?
I see most fans enjoy the new snippet. I hope TT got it right and the single will help them sell. I also hope the other 3 new tracks are more to my taste than this one.

Will TT release a following III EP like Progressed?
I too agree with you, dylandog :( I was quite excited based on the snippet leaked a few months ago. That was the kind of sound I was hoping to hear this time. I think they're trying too hard to change the style of their music. I'm here for FN type of songs, not Demi Lovato generic music.

New Album 'III', lead single 'These Days'
In that case, Robbie has always lacked self-assurance. At least in TT's case, the visual extravaganza comes to complement the music and the vocals, not to to compensate for the lack of singing ability. I guess TT could compromise themselves as well and come on stage dressed in skirts, show the finger to the audience, swear, sit in the fans' laps (ie Robbie performing on the Aussie X factor) and then they'd be able to fill all the venues in the world, because vulgarity and mediocrity are more in vogue than Cirque du Soleil. Elisabeth, let me skeptical about those reviews and those who wrote them, since at least one of those reviews was written by a person who wasn't even present at the concert in Vienna. That leaves me with only two options: they are either Robbie fans or they simply dislike TT. Not to mention that a critic who doesn't respect himself enough to research the titles of the songs or at least to read the setlist of the night before publishing his article doesn't deserve to be taken into consideration. I guess you were present at all the concerts and you know for a fact that the venues were half empty. Aside from the Vienna situation, from what I've seen, all the other venues were full (I know this for a fact because a friend of mine went to 3 of these concerts) and some of the European concerts were even better than the UK ones in terms of fans participation - there were surprises prepared for the boys, the fans were singing along all the time and so on. In terms of energy, it's enough to watch the Let Me Go video in Vienna to see that the fans were actually there for the music and not for the show: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6TyBFyFRPlo...R6Vy9F5Nb90hM0F It's funny you're accusing TT of using props in their shows, when Robbie has always relied on them to draw audiences - let's not forget the giant Robbie head on stage!!! If TT can still attract 6000 people in a foreign country where they have not promoted for years, I'm happy with it. Leona Lewis is an international artist and wasn't able to sell 6000 albums in her home country, never mind abroad and is struggling to sell theatres in UK. Kelly Clarkson (whom I'm a fan of, by the way) isn't selling any better. On the other hand, "artists" like Robbie, Justin Bieber, 1D, Miley and so on and so forth, have no problem selling out venues. Does this mean we have to bow before their "artistry" or see them like some musical revelations? I really don't understand your obsession with always highlighting that TT are not successful outside UK. We've established that, can we move on, please? I only posted those articles because I found them unfair, not to fuel your anti-TT propaganda. Next time, I'll think twice before posting such things in this thread.

New Album 'III', lead single 'These Days'
This particular review has made the rounds and it's not exactly pretty. I guess the critic was more of a Robbie fan: http://www.morgenpost.de/kultur/article206...ertreibung.html And there was this one as well: http://ekstrabladet.dk/musik/koncert_anmel...-robbie/5758106

New Album 'III', lead single 'These Days'
A couple of new events at the horizon: http://faiths-foundation.com/gary-barlow/#.Vhjhuvntmkp http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b06hhf9l and Child Bereavement on October, 15. Am I the only one who thinks the more intimate gigs work out better than the arena/stadium ones? From the clips I've seen on youtube, the Vienna concert ended up being more casual and enjoyable than the rest of the tour dates. Or maybe it's just me...but I don't think they need all that extravaganza to put on a good show. As much as I dislike some of the reviews they've been getting on this leg of the tour, I agree to a CERTAIN extent (a very small extent) with them. They should tone down a notch the visual "spectacle" and let the music do the talking.

Take That - Live 2015 Tour
I don't know if the venue change was due to poor ticket sales. I'd like to think not. One of my friends had checked a while back the tickets for the Austrian concert and she told me most of the seats seemed taken. I don't know how to reconcile this with the venue change. From what I understood, the new venue has a capacity of 4000 seats, which is decent, imo, considering TT have never had promotion in Austria. They have to start from somewhere. 4000 fans this year could mean 6000-8000 fans for the next tour, that's how fanbases are created, through gigging. @elisabeth: I think we've all discussed in the past that TT could gig smaller venues in the countries where they have not had promotion since their return. This means we were all aware of the fact that they can not fill everywhere the arenas they do in UK. How is Robbie relevant in this discussion, again I do know. He was ONCE part of TT, he no longer is, he and some of us have moved on. Maybe it's time his fans did too and stopped comparing Robbie to TT all the time. dylandog is right. TT have proven with the Apple Music Festival why they are QUALITY artists.

New Album 'III', lead single 'These Days'
Yeah, I'm not over the moon with the prospect of a greatest hits album. It would be better if they did a completely new album and sold, for free, a greatest hits album to go with it. That way, people who aren't usually TT fans would be enticed to buy it and TT fans would also be kept satisfied.

New Album 'III', lead single 'These Days'
The article I've posted states that the Greatest Hits album will be released in 2017. I think the re-isssue of III corresponds to what Gary has been hinting at lately.

It seems we'll have a re-issue of III with 4 new songs: http://www.unrealitytv.co.uk/showbiz/take-...m-in-the-works/

I have another one: Mark's odious shirt :) Seriously, these guys need to learn to communicate with each other: Gary was supper smart, while Howard and Mark looked like they were about to play a basketball match. They have to find a middle ground with their styles. But, of course, this is just something very shallow and unimportant, more of a laughing matter than a proper criticism. If they weren't so weird sometimes, they wouldn't be so endearing.

Jay, here is When Your Feet Don't Touch the Ground in better quality: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gq7SN07-Qac And here is the entire performance from Periscope (it's private, that's why it can't be found easily): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ujZdURrXEeU...X5w&index=1 I have to say this intimate US gig and the Apple Music Festival have been the delight of the year for me. I'd have given anything to hear Gary sing Anywhere But Here, but I guess we can't have it all :) I'm sad that Gary and TT's appearances on charity shows such as CIN are, from now on, an uncertainty, whereas, in the past, they were a given. At the beginning of the year, I'd have been against them chancing an appearance on CIN, but now, things seem to have settled a bit and maybe the tour has repaired some of the damage caused by the tax scandal. They can't stay away forever from such appearances, just to avoid backlash. Haters are always gonna lurk and wait for the opportunity to trash them, so are newspapers. I wish they'd do again An Audience with TT. If they put such a great show as they did last night, they might win quite a few new fans. Everybody was praising them on twitter last night. My concern with the new music they're about to release is the promo opportunities. They usually release in November and have an XF performance, which ensures a lot of publicity for them. Are there any big shows they can perform on in October to help sell the new album/the re-issue of III? They probably want to avoid clashing with Adele in November, which isn't bad, but I hope the label gets them big slots to make the public aware of the new release.

New Album 'III', lead single 'These Days'
I'd have loved a few more songs as well, but, considering they had a limited time, I can understand why they chose pretty much the same playlist of hits, especially that the concert was broadcast worldwide. I was blown away by Gary's vocals last night. I got goosebumps for the first time in a very long time. It may be a bit of an exaggeration, but I haven't heard Gary sound so good since The Ultimate Tour.

You have to watch it, pippa :) I think this is one concert all fans can enjoy for once, without criticism.

New Album 'III', lead single 'These Days'
Was anyone else impressed by Take That's performance at the Apple Music Festival? I dare say it was the best performance in quite some years. I was blown away by Pray and Relight. Great stage presence as well (well, maybe Howard should have smiled more). In case anyone missed the performance:

Can someone, please, explain to me how we can watch the Apple Festival? Is it possible even if we don't have Apple products? I only have iTunes - is that gonna help me in any way? I saw that they used HTH in the background of their Apple promo; I hope this means they'll be performing it live at the festival.

I know they said, when they came back, that they weren't willing to spend much time in US promoting. But things have changed since then, their children are now grown up, Gary is spending lots of time in NY and LA anyway...A radio deal wouldn't demand any of their time and I'm sure they can afford to lose a few hundred thousand pounds between them in an attempt to get their music played by US radio. We have to face the fact that, the older they get, the less willing UK radios will be to play them. They need to find new ways of getting their music across.

Take That - General Chart Topic
I still don't understand why TT aren't trying to make a radio deal in US. From what I understand, in US, you can pay for radio time. A month or 3 months or radio play cost around 100.000 dollars. I know it's a lot of money, but TT surely can afford that kind of money. If at least one or two songs caught on US radio, that would instantly make UK radios and Europe along play them as much as possible. Considering they're not willing to promote much at this point, from what we've seen, a US radio deal could suit them just fine, in my opinion. I've been following the promotion of Leona Lewis's new album in US by Def Jam and, although her material is beyond boring and immature (in my opinion, of course), radios seem to spin it quite a lot. Of course, sales are not tagging along, but it proves that US radios are more open to Adult Contemporary than UK ones and that could benefit TT. You'll all notice I'm like a dog with a bone when it comes to HTH  I really really really really looooove that song and I'm still in the mood of strangling the boys for not promoting  Jay is right: aside from These Days and a bit of Get Ready, nothing has been promoted this era.

Glad to see it charting anywhere :) I think this is one single I'll always be pissed to not have seen promoted at all :(

Since I Saw You Last
If no one else votes, I'll change my vote from Face to Face to This House.

Since I Saw You Last
Yeah, I was the one voting for FTF out :). It's the only song on the album I can't connect with.

Since I Saw You Last
It's a strange game we're playing here :) The only songs I have the heart to eliminate are Face to Face and This House (and I do like This House). I just hope Dying Inside survives till the last round.

I was hoping he'd do SATN and I was soooo glad he sang it, but I would have wanted to hear the full version, with the big note at the end. Anyway, at first, I couldn't tell if it was really live, because his voice sounded perfect, just like on the studio version. I'm happy his voice isn't leaving him just yet.
