  1. In case you haven't heard snippets from the concept album:http://findingneverlandthemusical.com/music/ I can't make up my mind based on these snippets. This is the 1st time I've heard We Own the Night and I think it was love at first hearing. Major, major disappointment for When Your Feet DTTG - the biggest disappointment actually, Neverland, What You Mean to Me, Believe. Inclined to believe I'll like a lot Paloma Faith's version of Circus of Your Own Mind. Undecided about Pentatonix, John Legend and Goo Goo Dolls. I had hoped Gary would save a better song for himself, to be honest. I like this one as well, but I'd have preferred him on a ballad. If I hadn't heard some of these songs before, I don't know if I'd love them again in the form they're being presented now :( Whoever thought that Jennifer Lopez and Nick Jonas were a good idea? :(
  2. I don't think the new songs are weaker than the older ones, personally. Given the choice between the likes of UAN, Hold Up A Light, Greatest Day or many others from The Circus and the new material, I'd easily choose the songs from III. I guess it's just a matter of taste. We all have songs we prefer to others and songs we can't stand. I warmed up to Affirmation, but not enough to say I'd include it on the list of TT songs I play frequently. And I definitely would not have enjoyed Everything Changes sung by Howard. It's enough that The Flood is weird as it is, no need to trash other songs as well :P It's normal the crowd wouldn't react as well to the new songs as to the old one and wouldn't sing along, simply because, for many of them, it would be the first time they'd hear them, hence the change in atmosphere. I've been to concerts where I didn't know some of the songs and I did notice that the audience tends to get quieter, but that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy the moment as much, if not more, as the ones I could sing along on.
  3. I couldn't have put it better myself :P It's precisely one of the reasons I'm not warming up to him very much. I'm guarded about people who always smile and try so hard to be liked. But he has quite his share of fans and, although not the key piece of the band, TT would definitely not have survived without him, for many reasons, not all of them related to music. I think Mancunian way would have been a much better choice for Howard. I can't wait to read your review this month.
  4. I'd really like to see I Like It live, because, from the videos, it comes across really well. Also, on ticketmaster, most reviews mention Portrait as being the best moment of the show, next to The Garden. I think it all comes down to personal taste, at the end of the day. As long as you had a good time and found enough moments to like, that's all that matters :)
  5. Thank you for the review :) I'm glad you had a great time at the gig. Hopefully, one day I can follow in your footsteps and exchange the dvd experience for the live one. You're the 2nd person I know of who didn't enjoy Affirmation too much. When I saw the 1st yt video, I was pleasantly surprised. Afterwards, I found Howard's voice a bit weak, tbh. But at least it changed my opinion of the song, because I now find it decent enough. What did you make of Flaws? I saw some reviews saying their favorite moment of the show was the contemporary dance. Did you find that the dance was the main attraction instead of the song or were they equally emphasized?
  6. Well, at least it stayed it top 40. Based on sales, it was the same as last week: no 34, so no decline there, which means it's the streaming pulling it down.
  7. How come there's choreography or lots of movement only on the songs Gary takes the lead on? Has anyone else noticed this? When Mark sings Up All Night, Hold Up A Light and Shine or Howard Affirmation there's very little movement on stage - well, on Shine, Mark is wearing a cape, but that only makes movement more difficult. I was just saying to my friends that Gary looks exhausted. He has to do everything the other 2 do + sing. He always gets the wrong end of the stick, poor guy :)
  8. I'm almost sure that, on Sunday, III will be back in top 40, at 33-36. Yesterday, it was @37.
  9. There are some rumours that German cinemas might broadcast the gig as well. WE'll know for sure next week. Which means there's still hope that they'll extend it in other cinemas as well. More of us, Romanian fans, are trying to talk our big cinemas into buying the rights for the broadcasting of the tour. If we join numbers, maybe a miracle will happen :) Oh, and I agree with you: I LOVE their ABBEY ROAD dvd and I wish they'd do the same with the newer songs.
  10. I'm not deluded. I don't expect them to fill stadiums or even arenas here. Every time I tweeted Gary, I asked him for a small, acoustic set. I'd be more than happy with that. I'm not even that mad about big productions, as long as he brings his voice with him :) As I've said before, completely unknown artists manage to fill one of our biggest venues, with a capacity of 4000 seats - I', not exaggerating when I use the term "unknown". If TT did a gig there, just one night, I'd be over the moon. I hope that at least the US fans get their wish, since Gary has been teasing them for a while.
  11. Your kind wishes didn't reach the boys' ears :P We're still praying, as a last resort, that they'll broadcast the concert on June, the 19th in cinemas worldwide, not just UK. We deserve that much. As a Romanian fan of Gary, I got the wrong end of the stick :) Instead of having Gary and TT performing here, we get Robbie this year :) As much as I love TT, when it comes to touring, I can't help feeling a certain "arrogance" (for lack of a better word) from the boys when it comes to choosing the countries they'll play for. Sometimes, I wonder if they know that Europe is more than UK, Germany and Denmark.
  12. It's a funny one with Portrait, since not many people seem to warm up to it. I like the verses, but I'm not so mad about the chorus and, frankly, I don't even get what "portrait 25" means. Overall, I like the song, but I agree that HTH would have worked better.
  13. Complimentary post? Next to your name? Isn't that an oxymoron? :) Oh, Kath, if that's all you have to fight back, me being a newcomer on this forum, I really pity you. If you really want to know, I'm actually having a life and, until recently, I couldn't afford to waste time on forums; now, I have a bit of free time, so I'm using it on a passion of mine. I think I've indulged you enough with my answer. It's worrying though that you've been here for so long, as you claim:) Spare your sympathy. If I'm reading correctly the implications, just remember next time that I'm the one being coherent in more than one language; but, if you really have sympathy for me, please talk to me in my own language - this is an international forum, after all. Otherwise, please, stop insulting my intelligence!
  14. In case you have short memory, let me remind you what you've posted THIS YEAR: As usual, you don't address the core of the problem, instead you attack - obviously the best arm you've got, since your arguments are lacking completely. Nobody forced you to read my "snoozefest", since it wasn't addressed to you. I won't apologize to you for actually being able to build my discourse around facts!! I exercised my right to freedom of speech, just like you do. Just because you expressed your opinion a few months ago doesn't mean that its validity can't be challenged anymore. Not to mention that the fact that you're still here after all these months makes my point even more valid. Don't get me wrong, though, please. I'm not getting "my knickers in a twist" for anything; on the contrary, I have a deep sympathy for your obvious lack of a better occupation.
  15. I know my reply comes a bit late, but I can't help myself, since I've just read your post. You do know that Robbie hasn't exactly been exempt of criticism himself, right? The review of his gig in Dubai was on point - I rarely agree with reviews, but that was so coherent it was hard to disagree with - and it was by no means positive. I'd rather TT toured small but with elegance, rather than embarrass themselves on a large scale with awful covers, awful vocals, awful clothes and awful behaviour. I'm quite pleased that the criticism for TT as a 3 piece came before the tour, with positive reviews afterwards, than with great hype before and even greater disappointment afterwards, as in Robbie's case. It is a matter of personal taste, but I do have to question a person's taste when it's based purely on the artist's success and not on his talent. Robbie USED to be an entertainer - singer, he was never - but now he's not even that anymore. What some call charisma, I call a sad parody of one's past self. Sorry, you don't know how good of a live act TT3 are? Are you serious? In what are they different to TT4 or TT5? You have Gary, the lead singer, and Mark and Howard on the harmonies as ever - what's changed. Jason didn't bring much and Robbie couldn't harmonize if his life depended on it. And seriously, have you ever heard Robbie live or do you ignore his vocal deficiencies on purpose? 1. You dislike Gary for tax avoidance reasons, but you don't dislike Robbie who's been doing the same thing? At least we know that Gary paid it all back - so your greedy argument dies as well/ And no, Gary did not owe 32 million pounds. TT INVESTED 20 or 30 million pounds - if you calculate the tax owed by each of them on their share of investment, you'll see that Gary didn't owe even 10 millions. Considering he DONATED almost 6 million pounds of his solo gigs during XF, I'd say he covered his share and more. But now we also know he has officially paid the money back as TAX - not that he was legally forced to. Again, please bring us some solid evidence that he's greedy, other than your own dislike of him, based on the fact that he's 1000 times better than Robbie - which most Robbie fans can't take. 2. Why would Gary not be friends with NMS? He has every reason to be grateful to the man who saw the potential in him and made him famous - something Robbie should also learn. Why should he hate Nigel simply because Nigel didn't see any talent in Robbie - Robbie himself has admitted he had no talent when he was in TT, all he had was ego and a drugs addiction? 3. Maybe you didn't notice that Robbie's previous tour consisted of swing covers and his current tour is based heavily on horrible covers and on songs written by Guy Chambers? At least Gary was singing songs he wrote himself - and that he had the grace to lend to the other guys. Out of 20+ songs, only ~7 songs were credited to TT and we all know that, even so, they were a Barlow creation - aka Patience and Shine. Greedy again? The 2nd time around he chose to split the credits and the money, although the successful hits kept belonging to him. Please try again. With this, I'll end my rant about Robbie, since he's of no interest to me as an artist or as a person and the only reason I'd ever go to one of his concerts - for free, for course - would be to wave a big banner under his nose with " I love the TALENTED Gary" :P I'm usually a calm person and very reasonable, but, when I see this repeated non-sense based on no evidence whatsoever, I lose my cool and I'm harsher in my saying. As for you Kath, you have every right to post - freedom of speech and all that -, but as you always like to say about Gary: it's legal, but is it moral? Like I've said in the other thread, is it normal to be looking up threads about persons you detest just to have a go at them and to rile up fans? I dislike a lot of persons, Robbie included, but I'm not posting negative comments not even on the yt videos that are so accessible.
  16. I've just realized there is a separate thread about the tour. No wonder nobody was replying to my comment in the other thread :) I'll post it again here, cause I'm too lazy to rephrase it :) After watching most of the videos of the tour so far, I can honestly say the part I hate is the dance on Flaws. I think it looks weird, but most of all it's annoying because nobody seems to be paying attention to the song - and Flaws is one of the best, most honest songs on III. All those women in the audience scream like hormonal, brainless teenagers when Howard and Mark pull their shirts up. Whoever came up with that idea deserves a good smack. If they wanted a contemporary dance, they had enough professional dancers to choose from. I thought Howard and Mark were in the band as musicians and singers, not as dancers. On Flaws, they neither sing nor dance - those awkward, clumsy movements can hardly be called a dance. Am I the only one feeling like that towards that moment in the show? On the other hand, I discovered that my favorite moment so far of the show is I Like It. I would have preferred Higher than Higher instead of UAN, though, cause I really dislike that song. Gary's voice seems to sound better than ever on this tour. I was expecting him to have trouble hitting some of the high notes, since he's older now, but, surprisingly, he hits them with ease and has quite some outstanding moments on I Like It, Relight, Portrait.
  17. I think it's interesting to mention that III was no 14 (up from 21) last week in the Scottish chart, which makes sense, since all the gig dates were in Scotland. I think we should see III climb more in top 40 once the tour hits England, where most of the sales occur.
  18. I hope BPI announces the gold certification soon.
  19. III seems to have sold around 2300 copies, while These Days must have sold 4500-5000 copies.
  20. Yay! 35 for III this week! :cheer: Also These Days climbed 2 places to 89! This is a good week :)
  21. I think the album dropped a few places since the midweeks, but I'm happy with top 40.
