  1. On sales alone, Let In the Sun charted at 93. Streaming works against TT once again :( And III isn't even in top 100 of the albums streaming chart :( The album could have charted so much higher if people had streamed it. But it goes to show they can still be relevant on sales alone.
  2. I think that was the journalist from The Guardian. She had that line prepared even before she saw that the venue was full, because that line was suggested by an idiot on twitter (I saw the whole conversation between the 2, so I know for sure it's true). She saw that there were tickets available (because TT put out some last minute tickets, although the initial ones had been all sold out) and she stated it on twitter, at which point some witted idiot suggested that Jason might have had more fans than anyone believed. And the journalist was so delighted that she said that line would make it into the article - which it did. But she admitted herself in the same article that there was not one empty seat in the whole venue. Caroline Sullivan‏@TheCSullivan I'm at Take That's gig at Shepherd's Bush Empire, which, strangely, isn't sold out. Why is this? Hasief Ardiasyah ‏@hasief Feb 23 @TheCSullivan Jason Orange had more fans than anyone ever imagined? Caroline Sullivan ‏@TheCSullivan Feb 23 @hasief That's brilliant. It's going into my review. TT might not have the same amount of fans they used to, but they can still fill venues, that's for sure. I agree that the tax scandal had a big impact. I just hope that the fans that have stuck with them so far will be there for future records as well, so that they can make music for as long as they want to, even if they won't set the charts alight anymore. I want them to have hit after hit, but most of all, I want to enjoy their music. Personally, for me, many of the songs on III are better than what I've heard from Ed Sheeran or Sam Smith (I'm aware these are just my personal tastes, so it's not a dig on these 2 artists). Ed and Sam have been supported by radio stations and hyped big time, so it's natural for them to sell loads, I'd say with minimum promotion, but that's not exactly true, since I saw them everywhere. We'll just have to wait and see if, in 20 years time, they can still sell this much without much help.
  3. I'm maintaining some optimism that Let In the Sun will chart - no matter how low. It would have probably charted this week if fans had downloaded it this week. But considering fans are aware that the single is released on the 9th, they could be waiting till then to buy it.
  4. I thought they would perform too, but someone on twitter just told me there would only be an interview with little A and D :(
  5. Agree with everything. Although Let In the Sun is getting good reviews, I'd have much preferred Higher than Higher for the 2nd single.
  6. Unfortunately they won't be performing. Without promotion, the single won't do well. And if the promotion for the 2nd single is so low, I don't even want to imagine what it'll be like for the 3rd single. I'd be so disappointed if the 3rd single was Flaws and it flopped
  7. FN is probably overshadowing TT at the moment, but it's only natural. Success on Broadway could come once in a lifetime, I can't blame Gary for putting his heart and soul into it. I'm very excited myself, probably even more than about the tour. But I'm sure that, when the tour begins, Gary will focus on it and nothing else.
  8. Can it chart even if it hasn't been released as a single yet?
  9. I absolutely love Gary's take on these songs. The performance is not flawless, but it's so charged emotionally that it gives me goosebumps: I agree. Jeremy Jordan seemed a much better choice for FN. I'm not impressed with Matthew Morrison after seeing some rehearsal videos and after his pre-Oscars performance. His voice sounds quite weak.
  10. The visuals were amazing last night. It's great to see the album climbing as well after last night. Just hope it can maintain momentum for a while.
  11. They usually are <_< The Guardian is the favorite place for haters to get together.
  12. Here is Rita singing Play, written by Gary and Eliot for FN: https://screen.yahoo.com/music/play-215836844.html In my opinion, Rita didn't sound so well. The song is good, but the performance is a bit of a mess. And M. Morrison singing Neverland: https://screen.yahoo.com/music/neverland-190647175.html But, to be honest, I prefer the song written for Around the World in 80 days and sung by Nicole. It's really catchy: https://screen.yahoo.com/him-193049409.html...&soc_trk=tw My favorite so far remains When Your Feet Don't Touch the Ground.
  13. I don't know if either of you has heard the interview Gary did in the States. He's talking about Dying Inside and God. I'd love for the Americans to embrace Gary's solo material. https://soundcloud.com/siriusxmentertainmen...ny-other-things
  14. Although I'm particularly glad for Let Me Go, I'm a bit disappointed they didn't do Flaws and Portrait. They could have left out Shine and Greatest Day and done these 2 new songs.
  15. Let's hope Gary is more sober then than he was today  https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=101552...amp;pnref=story Let In the Sun is already in top 200 on Amazon. We just need to see it chart on iTunes as well.
  16. Hopefully, the performance at the Brits will boost the sales and that will overpower the streaming effect (in case it doesn't work in their advantage). I was just taking a look at Let In the Sun and Get Ready on Amazon and Let In the Sun is fairing much better, to my surprise. It's in top 300 already, which means the Brit performance could boost it in top 100 next week.
  17. You can listen to the remix here: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/news/a63...~p4Pqi3lz9rYaym I usually don't like any remix, but this isn't so bad, mostly because the voices haven't been altered too much.
  18. They released 2000 cds for These Days, I imagine they're releasing the same amount for Let In the Sun. As far as you know, around this time of the year, how many copies would they have to sell to get into top 40?
  19. It's on the TT fb page: https://www.facebook.com/takethat/photos/a....e=1&theater
  20. Good news about III being still in top 40. I think this week it will be in top 30 still. Unfortunately, These Days will probably drop out of top 75 this week. It had a good run, though. I hope Let In the Sun will get at least into top 40. It was a good idea releasing a few physical cd-s as well. I know my collection will be glad about it. :yahoo:
  21. Does this mean they'll just stand there and sing? Somehow, I don't see Let In the Sun as the kind of song that allows Gary to display his vocal ability. https://soundcloud.com/ewradio/take-thats-g..._medium=twitter
  22. Based on sales only, These Days should have been 31 in the charts, instead of 38 :( Streaming is meant to favorize only artists with a predominantly young fanbase. Glad to see III back in top 20, though.
  23. Most of the critics are snobs and they always follow an agenda when writing a review. I prefer to hear or see things with my own ears/eyes and judge for myself. I love what I've heard from the musical so far and I like the pop element in the songs. Musicals often sound childish, but these pop songs sound pretty mature. When Your Feet Don't Touch the Ground has a real depth to it. To me, it sounds like it could have been on SISYL, because the lyrics convey a very personal story. To be honest, I miss this element from III and that's why I prefer SISYL. TT albums have always had this one weakness: lyrically, they tread on neutral territory. It's understandable, of course, given the fact that the songs must reflect a group of people, but I always find myself wishing they could go deeper with the lyrics. When Your Feet Don't Touch the Ground, This Time, SISYL, they all satisfy that need and they remind me of Elton John's songs.
  24. I hope the album manages to stay in top 20 till Sunday, now that the iTunes deal is over. At least this deal has shown that the interest is still there, but that the target public has other priorities probably and isn't willing to spend on an album as much as they used to. Unrelated to this thread, but I can't help myself: what do you think of the new song from Finding Neverland? It sounds almost like an autobiographical song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?x-yt-ts=14223...-yt-cl=84838260 I think I love it more than the TT album
  25. III (the standard edition) is reduced at £5.99 on iTunes and this has had a good effect on the sales because the album is now in top 20 on iTunes. I wonder if this is a one day deal or if the deal extends on a longer period of time.
