  2. A paid for sale also shows an increased interest in a song, since the person is willing to pay for it. It's annoying that streaming has that much weight and people have lost interest in charts, since they are all over the place. I don't know most of the artists in the charts nowadays, cause they are always new ones.
  3. Isn”t the release on November, 27th? Anyway, now the album is available on Amazon as well and it”s ranked 60 and 80 there, for now.
  4. We can”t compare them, though. Let Me Go had huuuuge promo, Elita barely has a few Radio 2 plays, so, all things considering, breaking top 20 on iTUnes all on its own, isn”t so bad. There are still lots of fans who have no idea about the release and the song on yt doesn”t even tag the artists.
  5. I may be mistaken, but someone said that Elited charted at 31 on the singles sales chart. On the main forum, the 30th position sold around 12K - I know it”s both download sales and streaming sales -, so I figured Gary must have sold around 11k. Maybe I misread something. ”MoStack hasn’t had a Top 40 single as a lead artist for over a year but breaks that this week with Miss Me, which lands at No.39 (9,831 sales). Including collaborations, it is his 15th chart single all told and a 32nd for featured guest AJ Tracey.” Surely most of those 9800 sales must be downloads, so, if no 39 sales 9831, is it wrong to assume Gary must have sold at least the same, even if he charted only on the singles sales chart? Can streaming account for that much at no 39?
  6. Around 11000 sales in only 2 days, I”d say that is pretty good. Gary does not seem concerned with the single charting and, tbh, I really enjoy not worrying about it either - it took away from the fun of new music. But, even so, he managed to sell in 2 days what others have sold in a week. If he had some promo lined up, he”d have another top 10 hit on his record.
  7. I don”t hear the reggaeton in Elita. To me, it sounds closer to salsa.
  8. Probably to hype it up for next week. It is already climbing very fast on iTunes - 14 now. If it goes top 10 and manages to maintain it throughout the whole of next week, it could be a hit. I can see it doing very well internationally, especially in Mexico and Brazil. Fingers crossed for a great chart position next Friday. Hope they have promo lined up for next week.
  9. Is this type of song unusual for UK? Most of the comments on yt are from Latinos and they all love it. I am laughing just by thinking Gary has to dance to this
  10. I loooove the new single. It is very catchy and salsa infused. Latin girl here likes it a lot. :yahoo:
  11. Loved the duets with Jessie J (although I'm really not a fan of hers) and with Anastacia. What did you all think of the duet with Paloma?
  12. It wasn”t just Mark”s voice that sounded bad, the sound in the room or garage he was in was really bad as well. I had no idea he was smoking; if that is the case, he really should give it up, cause it”s only damaging his voice. On the other hand, last night”s duet was out of this world. I have no idea why Gary was so emotional and with tears in his eyes, but he and Cassie gave a stunning performance. It was sweet and touching and, even though it may not have been technically perfect, it felt like it was on all other levels and layers. I love that Gary is exploring his voice and using it much more than on most TT songs. It”s doing wonders for him. Never in a million years would I have guessed that he can blend so well with an operatic voice.
  13. I was hoping I could skip my opinion on the duet with Mark, cause I do not want to sound negative. Since the touring last year, I have really made my peace with all my Mark and Howard „issues” and I was hoping that a duet with Mark would be as good as the one with Howard. To be honest, I did not enjoy it at all. Their voices did not blend at all, I have no idea what that song was - which does not matter much per se, I just could not see its charm - and I could not make two thirds of what Mark sang. Overall, I thought it was a mess - I have yet to decide which was worse: the Sing performance or the duet with Mark :P
  14. The Sing performance was a hot mess. Aside from the fact that we got to hear Gary for just 10 seconds, the choice of "friends" was awful. Beverly Knight, Katherine Jenkins, Alfie, maybe Jason Donovan were good...maybe Nicole as well, but the rest..... Leona is obviously suffering from lack of exposure and, at each opportunity, tries to show off with over the top high notes, inappropriate in the context of the song, Liam skipped all the falsetto parts.... I much much prefer the Crooner Sessions, they keep getting better and better and Gary's voice is just amazing on almost every song. The duets with the fans are amongst the best, in my opinion. I really enjoyed lately the duets with Alesha and Peter Andre. I wish he could keep them going until he releases the album and that he didn't end them in May.
  15. For me, it was quite the contrary - the girl was over the top for me, while I enjoyed Gary”s parts. Overall, though, the duet wasn”t great. Gary does get the toughest job in this stuff, as the other singer gets to set the pace and Gary has to adjust everything to the other artist.
  16. Favorite duet - The Prayer. Favorite Crooner Sessions: Gary”s solo, When I Say Goodbye - stunning and the collab with Howard on Amazing. Least fav: Baked Potatoe and the duet with Alfie Boe.
  17. Why? He can still release it in November.
  18. I am heads over heels in love with the full song. I imagine it will be on his new solo album: The little bit that he had posted a few years ago on IG has been my ringtone ever since. I am ecstatic to have the full song now. Although I adore it, I must say I see its comical side - a song with those lyrics, released at this time, could as well be titled the Corona Hymn
  19. :yahoo: :cheer: Soooo happy for this news! It makes me even more eager for Gary's solo album, cause this means the fanbase is still there for the boys.
  20. No way, Christmas albums feel even worse than greatest hits albums. I, for one, can't wait for Gary's solo stuff. I've been following this vocal coach for awhile now and I used to think she was pretty objective, so I asked her to do a video of Gary as well ...I wish I hadn't. She has done a review of Gary and Cheryl's duet on Need You Now Granted, she hasn't said anything bad about Gary, but, from all the videos she could have chosen of him, it makes me wonder why she chose this particular one. It's not like she's been chasing the views so far - she has reviewed some pretty boring stuff before. Maybe it will help if more fans requested specific reviews of Gary's or the boys' performances. I asked her to review the This Time video, cause it's amongst my all time favorites.
  21. Yeah, I also found it surprising that, for all we complain that they're somewhat disconnected from the fans' preferences, they're really not. Gary was spot on - I'm always looking for the ballads on an album first. I don't mind the uptempo songs, they're a bit of fun, but, for me, the essence of TT and Gary is given by the big, powerful ballads. I like the fact that he explained why they approached the greatest hits idea the way they did - I mean, we already knew it hadn't been their initiative, but actually hearing Gary speak so honestly about it drove it home. The little snippet Gary gave us on instagram of one of the songs on his solo album makes me want to hear the whole thing as soon as possible.
  22. I have no idea why I haven't listened to the final chapter of A Better Me until now, but it gave me a new insight into Odyssey and it certainly made me even for more excited for Gary's solo upcoming album (if that was even possible :D ), knowing that he finally understands what the fans prefer. https://www.mixcloud.com/michellethornton22...tm_content=html
  23. I already knew that the setlist would be the one on the album, therefore I didn't get my hopes up that I'd finally hear WYBTFM :) I wouldn't leave Cry out of the setlist, cause it's one of my favorites and the crowd was going nuts on it, but I'd have definitely left out some of the songs and opted for others. Giants is probably one of the lowest parts of the concert, crowd wise. Yeah, I was at the O2, on the 2nd, the 3rd and the 4th. The last two nights, the crowd was overwhelming. Even Howard noticed jokingly that it was probably due to most of them being drunk
  24. I finally managed to get back home, after 3 nights in a row of TT :) Best nights of my life. The visuals aren't as elaborate as I've seen on other tours, but, for me, at least, that was completely fine, cause they were distracting me anyways from the boys. I loved the moments I could focus entirely on them. I can honestly say that I fell in love with Gary's voice all over again. Love Ain't Here and Pray were stand-outs for me. I have no idea how he can sing while displaying so much energy on stage - they were literally moving all the time. I was surprised of how good Howard sounded. Mark was a bit hit and miss. Babe was definitely a great live moment and he sounded nice, but, when he shared the leads on other songs, it was very inconsistent. But I don't think anyone really cared or actually noticed, cause everyone was there to have a good time - well, some more than others (I had no idea that some people could drink this much :D ) The best surprise of the whole experience for me was Rick Astley. He's truly an artist on his own right, he's charismatic, he has a strong voice and his songs are really really beautiful. I wouldn't mind seeing a full concert of his own. I was really glad that, on Saturday, the venue was full for Rick's act.
