  1. I'm annoyed that they are doing the XF final with Robbie - that will only benefit Robbie and nobody else. Why aren't they promoting and performing OOUH, since they've already released it as a single? They can perform with Robbie on the tour or on other gigs, but, for GH promotion purposes, they should be focusing on their task at hand. What's the point of releasing a new song if they're chasing other rabbits?! I'm really pissed at them for being all over the place.
  2. I, for one, am very happy with everything I've heard so far. For me, Wonderland was their worst era, by far, music wise. Promotion continues to be their main issue. I don't understand why they decided to release OOUH without a video and big promo lined up for this week. They don't seem to be learning anything from past experiences. Gary's release of his book was much better handled, in my opinion.
  3. Gary has talked about TT forming in 1989 in several interviews and in My Take. There's no doubt about that.
  4. I'm pretty sure Gary exaggerates a lot when he puts himself down - that, plus the fact that a lot of his self-denigration is probably the result of what the others have told him, especially Robbie. I'm sure there's a seed of truth to that and that he made his mistakes - any talented young man would want to have his work appreciated and be the center of attention-, but Gary does tend to blame himself a lot nowadays. Plus, in My Take, some of the examples Gary gave kind of contradict the fact that he was selfish or didn't care about the others. For some reason, Robbie and, to some extent, the others as well, probably, have instilled in Gary a sense of guilt, trying to justify their own behavior. For me, nothing can excuse Robbie's conduct in the 90s. Out of all them, Gary's the one who stood up to Nigel, trying to defend one of another - Jason, Robbie etc. As for him seeing the group just as a step in his career, that's perfectly normal. The group was formed very much like Pussycat Dolls, around and for Gary. He's always been honest about that. He treated the boys as his friends, but, when it came to the group, he was the only one who felt all the pressure -while the others were out partying or spending time with their family, he was busy making them more famous and successful. It's only natural that, at some point, he wanted to do music to his own taste and only for himself. And it's not like the others were too bothered about the group splitting.
  5. Take That's new single is the most addictive song I've listened to in the past year.
  6. That's what I'm wondering too. So many sales wasted :( The song is no 9 on iTunes - these sales would have been more useful tomorrow.
  7. Please, keep posting extracts from the book, guys! It's still a while til my copy gets to Romania.
  8. Out of our heads is....exactly as advertised :D I was expecting a ballad, but this is sooooooo much fun and it's so catchy and retro and modern at the same time. If this does nothing on the charts, then people have no taste at all.
  9. So far, Everything Changes is the only one I dislike. Love Ain't Here sounds really good.
  10. I'm no music expert, but the video you posted with Shane's vocals proves he has a very limited range - one octave? Gary has a 4 octave range. But, aside from the technical part, it's pretty evident - Shane's vocals are ordinary. He couldn't hit the notes Gary hits on Lie to Me to save his life, in my opinion. It's ok if you prefer his voice, but, objectively speaking, Gary is an extraordinary singer, while Shane and Mark are pretty ordinary.
  11. It's not really fair to compare TT's yt views with Westlife's, in my opinion. Covers of big songs always get a lot of views. It would be more fair if we looked at the numbers for Westlife's original songs - I understand they had a few of those as well?
  12. You'll probably have finished it by the time my copy gets here  I've seen bits and pieces in the press - especially about Poppy's death, Dawn's diabetes and the tax scandal -, but I want to read the whole thing. I'll probably stay up all night to finish it :D
  13. I like your optimism :D Fingers crossed it happens this way.
  14. For some reason, I much prefer Boyzone to Westlife. I never warmed up to Westlife and I can't really see their merits. At least from Boyzone, Ronan had a successful solo career. Boyzone did not choose to cover If It's Not Love on purpose. They had no idea til they released the single that the song is on TT's album already. I have no idea how that is even possible; surely their label or management should have informed them. They did a good job covering it, though. I've always loved that song and I'm glad that now more people get to hear it, albeit not from TT.
  15. If you show me the same kind of evidence for Westlife, I'm ready to admit I'm on drugs.
  16. No one in Westlife can come even close to Gary vocally - range wise, tone wise, technique wise, control wise and so on. Even their 2 main singers are still very average, in my opinion.
  17. Actually, they formed in 1989, so, by 2019, when they tour, there will be 30 years since they started.
  18. Got tickets too :) Can't wait. I'm actually disappointed I won't get to hear the new version of Pray live on tour, but hopefully there are other goodies in store for us.
  19. That's what I was wondering too, Pipa. I love this version so much I went to buy it on iTunes Romania - suffice to say NO ONE ever buys music here, especially on iTunes :D I find that beat so sultry and sexy.....it gives me feelings the original never did. And my sister loves it too and she never liked Pray.
  20. I may be amongst the few that actually love the new version of Pray and prefer it to the original. The beat is so catchy and modern and the lyrics are really highlighted by the new arrangement. I never really got into Pray until this new version, cause I found it a bit shallow and boyband-ish. Now, I am in love with it. I am really looking forward to the whole album, contrary to what I was expecting to feel.
  21. Love Said It All, I'd Wait for Life, When We Were Young, but my vote went to Higher than Higher...I just love that single...it's a shame nobody did anything to promote it.
  22. I have now 2 box sets of Gary's limited edition of signed copies and I'd like to sell one of them - both are perfectly new. If anyone is interested in buying a box set, please let me know. Package and posting worldwide.
  23. So, then, how does an album that's no 9 in the sales chart end up at 25 in the official chart? It's really strange.
  24. How on earth did the album drop in 1 day from 11 to 25? Based on sales is no 9, I didn't know streaming counted that much for albums.
  25. If there had been at least some promo, OR would surely have been in top 5, if not top 3. It's a shame the record label wasn't more inspired. There are quite a few tracks on that album that could have benefitted from more live sessions: Hang On in There Baby, Are You Ready Now and I Fall So Deep - these last 2 are amongst my favorites. I really hate it when people say that Forever Love is cringeworthy, when it's one of the most beautiful songs ever. and that Love Won't Wait is the best song on that album - the only good thing about that song is that Gary is singing it. I, for one, would have much rather preferred he sang Are You Ready Now on tour than that stupid song. Having said that, I'd love a top 15 for 12 M 11 D, one of the most underrated albums ever.
