  1. I cannot believe that Calvin /\ Weeknd are only 14 placed above Xtina... in 2020

For reference, PVRIS' last album debuted at #4 in Aug'17 with 9,549 sales. Presume/hope that they'll break 10k with this one so wonder if they'll sneak into the top 5, or if the rest will be too strong.
  3. Slow start for Calvin Harris

Troye Sivan still being top 15 at this point is encouraging, even if it is an EP, given that the songs released did absolutely nothing. I was concerned it wouldn't even make the top 40! It's a solid EP though, good on him.
  5. October 2nd looks busy already! - Blackpink - Bon Jovi - The Hunna - Jonsi - Mariah Carey - Mel C - Queen & Adam Lambert - Robert Plant - Ward Thomas Exciting!

Surpised but pleased that Miley and Little Mix are holding up as well as they are at the moment. Both likely to stay in the top 20 I presume?
  7. Really impressed by Miley's new song, absolutely fantastic. Originally I had her down for a top 30 debut but hopefully based on this she might be able to go top 20! I doubt streaming will support her enough to go top 10 though.

  9. The key change in 'You'll Never Be Alone' That's it. That's the message.

Kodaline's drop in popularity does surprise me. They went from having a gold selling sophomore album with 2x top 40 singles to a third album which spent 1 week in the top 100 and no hits. Yes there was a 3 year gap, but still, that's a sharp drop. Did they get any radio support for their third effort?
  11. She's a Colombian singer, had a pretty big hit at the backend of last year/early this year with Nicki Minaj called Tusa, but of course didn't make it onto the UK charts :(
  12. New Ellie Goulding is very inoffensive, can't see it being a big hit for her, even if it does resemble some of her earlier work.

What's caused Boss Bitch to fly up so quickly? Is it just the fact that Say So is becoming more popular? Either way I'd SO be here for it being a hit!
  14. Off the top of my head I'm not sure. Potentially Jedward?

The fact that PCD are still in the top 100 is a miracle, I was expecting a 45-92-OUT chart run for this one!

Great to see Agnes Obel in the top 20 - suspect she'll slide to the low 20's by the end of the week but still great to see!
  17. Nothing in the diary yet as far as I can see for August, but Lana loves a good summer release (last albums being released in June, September, July and August) and is due her new album out this year which naturally would be way way over. But it's a dodgy time indeed. Maybe given the rumours that Adele will be releasing in September will encourage more artists to release beforehand?
  18. Only went silver but Love Myself by Hailee Steinfeld peaked at #180 - not sure I can think of any more off the top of my head

I have to admit I'm a little surprised that Labrinth didn't even make it into the top 100 for one update with his new album - even though there has been absolutely zero hype I would've though he could command enough sales to do something on the chart.
  20. Harry Styles' new album 'Fine Line' is out 13th December.
  21. Liam Payne's debut album is (finally) coming December 6th... #45 peak incoming

I suppose you could say that Ellie Goulding and Paloma Faith both bucked the trend, with their first albums going 2x platinum and both going on to have more successful follow-ups. And then of course Amy Winehouse completely went the other way.

As much as I'd love Lana to get it (the album is sensational), I can't see her doing over 25k, and I'd say Tool would be pushing over 30k.

Shame about Iggy dropping out the top 100, but then again who is she aiming this album at? Who (outside her fanbase) is going to actually purchase an Iggy album? (being only available for download won't be helping). I actually quite like the album as a whole.

Thank god Chris Brown has dropped out of the top 5. Was beginning to worry.
