  1. As much as I hate the JP Cooper and Astrid S effort, I'm grateful for any exposure that Astrid S can get, some of her output is absolutely fantastic, particularly 'The First One' which she released recently.
  2. Completely agree, initially thought that delaying the album was a bad move, but if 'Mad Love' continues to gain traction it could really work in her favour.
  3. She's literally never released an album outside of October/November
  4. I think I agree that it'll be around #8 if their streams hold up across the week. I'd welcome them debuting in the top 5 but can't see it unfortunately.
  5. Delighted that Becky Hill is looking to get another hit to her name, she still needs a solo hit though!
  6. I know 'Without Me' took ages to peak, but I thought Halsey might be a little higher by now with 'Nightmare' - I don't expect it to be a hit like 'Without Me' was, it's a bit meh IMHO, but still, has it even cracked the iTunes top 10 at all?

Pleasantly surprised that Marina is still top 10 on iTunes and top 20 on Apple Music. Maybe she won't have a complete and utter disaster this week after all.
  8. Zara hasn't exactly struck gold so far with the new single, has she? Hopefully it rises a bit in the coming weeks. Shame because I think it's a step up from Ruin My Life.
  9. Am I going mad or does anyone else hear any similarities between "Walk Me Home" and Avril's "Head Above Water"
  10. Ariana has confirmed that her album will be out February 8th.

Bizarre I know, I thought his sales would collapse a bit like Buble's did.
  12. Future's new album "The Wizrd" is being released January 18th

    She'll be there
  14. Meghan Trainor's album is still up for pre-order for January 25th, is there any source regarding it being pushed back to February?
  15. With the longest song title ever conceived 😂

Yes, I can definitely see The Weeknd returning in the first half of the year, especially as he’s already teased that he’s working on new music. I can see Madonna having a similar performing album to Rebel Heart in Q1/Q2 and Rihanna has confirmed her next album will be out in 2019 and can see it performing better than ANTI did.

I agree to an extent, but their album has somewhat underperformed, it hasn’t even been certified silver yet.

Any news on whether Zayn has managed to remain in the top #100 or not?
  19. Fleur East is releasing her new single "Favourite Thing" on 4th January, it's just gone up for pre-order (didn't even think they were still a thing)

I mean I'm no music industry expert, but Zayn releasing this week without a CD is surely one of the worst decisions humanly possible. And if it is indeed true that he is at #67 in the midweeks, that must be one of the largest drop off's from debut album to sophomore album we've seen in recent years.

It's the same situation as any of the big DJ's (David Guetta, Kygo, Martin Garrix), they've all released absolute stinkers with low-profile artists and bombed on the charts. As soon as you pop a big name on it, everyone is suddenly interested, nobody buys the music because of the DJ's name. Obviously there are exceptions, but the same principles apply to MR and MC.
  22. The Chainsmokers new album "Sick Boy" is also out tomorrow, though it'll likely miss the top 40 given the lack of any hits or hype.

Surprised (but also ecstatic) that XXXTinct has dropped down since yesterday

Nicki has underperformed somewhat with this era, "Bed" was a moderate hit, but the album is only 2/3 of the way towards a silver certification after 4 months on sale. Xtina, while not expecting it to do fantastically, also plumetted like a stone and flopped horrendously. Cheryl's comeback has been quite lukewarm too.
  25. It was a very different performance from previous ones though, a bit more stripped back, no Nicki, and you could actually hear the live vocals this time. Definitely suited Strictly better!
