People need to stop thinking that it takes huge impact to reach a very high position on itunes. Matt terry and his however many followers on twitter could easily get the what 1k or 2k it takes these days to get high up on itunes, then some airplay to keep a steady few sales. However that fanbase wont be able to do much at all for it on spotify, it would need genuinely big airplay and playlists for that.
Geri Halliwell got to #21 on itunes this year through I'm sure just a tiny fanbase buying the song.
I think a prime example of this is Samantha Harvey a few weeks ago managing to get to #4 on iTunes for a few hours

the Linkin Park effect on iTunes! has been much much bigger than I expected... by comparison there was barely any effect when Chris Cornell died... and let's not forget the small effect for George Michael, only 1 song going top 10, Careless Whisper peaking at #10 for a couple hoursIndeed, but let's not forget that George Michael died during one of the busiest weeks possible, with gift card effects in full swing, so his songs will have made less of an impact on the charts than if he had died during the summer months. Still, a huge achievement for LP, still in shock.
Edit: someone beat me to it :P

Rudimental ft. James Arthur are on the front page of hot songs, so should be set for a top 20 entry this week, and should definitely go top 10 on iTunes.
'Chinatown' by Liam Gallagher and 'The Line' by RAYE are on the front page of hot songs, though how much they'll do is questionable. If this doesn't get RAYE into the top 50 on iTunes I don't think anything will.
'Location' by Khalid, on the other hand, is already a hit on the other side of the pond, and I can definitely see it becoming a moderate hit if it stays on the hot songs list and picks up a bit of airplay.

Usually reliable from what I've seen.
Fair enough! I just don't understand why they'd release on a Sunday, unless they've got a live performance booked somewhere to premiere it?
