On the albums front... I can see Taylor hitting #1 in the album chart around October then dropping and staying in the top-5 for a good couple of months around the Christmas period Fifth Harmony and Camila will both debut around #10, then drop drastically and last 3/4 weeks in the top 100 The Script will nab #1 but tail off quickly Foo Fighters & The Killers will debut at #1 and stick around for a few months in the top 40 Shania Twain will underperform massively, maybe even missing the top 10, as there's been no hype with the album or singles Sam Smith will, as has been mentioned previously, be this years Emeli Sande Liam Gallagher and Miley will most likely stick around in the charts up until Christmas Rita will pull a Zara Larsson with the album, miss the top 5 but hang around the lower regions for a while Avril Lavigne will come back and miss the top 10, disappearing after a couple of weeks Christina Aguilera will push her album back another couple of years Ella Henderson will come back and hit #1 Eminem will have one of the biggest selling albums of the Christmas period (if he releases as is predicted) George Ezra will flop completely Louisa Johnson will perform similarly to Fleur East, who will also attempt to relaunch herself and flop P!nk and Paloma Faith will be hanging around the top 10 for months and months Zayn and Liam will hold back until 2018

Avicii is releasing his new EP, "Avici (01)" on Thursday 10th August. It has 5 tracks including a collaboration with Rita Ora. Edit: iTunes lists the release date as 12th August, while Billboard and other sites are listing the 10th

I think a prime example of this is Samantha Harvey a few weeks ago managing to get to #4 on iTunes for a few hours

Indeed, but let's not forget that George Michael died during one of the busiest weeks possible, with gift card effects in full swing, so his songs will have made less of an impact on the charts than if he had died during the summer months. Still, a huge achievement for LP, still in shock. Edit: someone beat me to it :P

Indeed, I think that The Vamps could easily drop out of the top 30 next week, and maybe even the top 40, hence a new largest-drop from No.1 (assuming they get there)

Rudimental ft. James Arthur are on the front page of hot songs, so should be set for a top 20 entry this week, and should definitely go top 10 on iTunes. 'Chinatown' by Liam Gallagher and 'The Line' by RAYE are on the front page of hot songs, though how much they'll do is questionable. If this doesn't get RAYE into the top 50 on iTunes I don't think anything will. 'Location' by Khalid, on the other hand, is already a hit on the other side of the pond, and I can definitely see it becoming a moderate hit if it stays on the hot songs list and picks up a bit of airplay.

Holding up better than I thought, given their last album dipped from 12-37 in its second week.

Looking at Imagine Dragons, i'd be astounded if they didn't do more than Nickelback did last week, given the fact Nickelback haven't had a top-40 hit since 'Gotta Be Somebody' hit #20 in 2008, with their last album missing the mark a bit, and Imagine Dragons have already had a silver certified single and a single climbing the top 40 as we speak.

I think in the next update we'll know more about how the Foo Fighters have sold, as they're #1 on iTunes and if they stay there, should have a chance of breaking the top 3 and potentially #1
