New Album 'III', lead single 'These Days'
Heard the single. An 80's electronic sound with elements of the Pet Shop Boys. Mature men singing Hey Boy on the dance floor etc. As I feared - generic, throw away over produced pop with few redeeming features. Whoever wrote this song should hang their head in shame...... pure, unadulterated tosh!!!!!! :( It may be positively supported across the fan base, but this fan is extremely underwhelmed and frustrated with the direction they've taken.

Will TT release a following III EP like Progressed?
Heavy promotion or not, I think the lll era is dead in the water if this is the kind of material they're going to release. Rumour has it the ID single is released on the same day. If so, I can't see any chance of number 1, and based on what I've heard they'll struggle to make the Top 10. Sorry to be negative. I so, so wish I'm proved wrong and my initial concerns about the single prove to be unfounded.

On a big downer now. After listening to it a few more times it sounds like a Eurovision entry!!!! :(

Will TT release a following III EP like Progressed?
Sadly, I agree with you, Pippa. Can you think of any reason why their have moved away from the BW and Circus sound? This single sounds dated and 80's to me. They must realize that their most popular records stem from a traditional pop sound and not an 80's electronic sound?

Will TT release a following III EP like Progressed?
So, so disappointed with the snippet I've heard. Although I really like lll I was desperately hoping for a more traditional ballad for the next release. I know it's too early to predict sales on the back of 15 seconds but it sounds very generic and over produced. I don't think it will have wide appeal or encourage previous fans to buy it. Who is guiding their sound at the moment? Gary's music for FN is very much in the tradition of classic pop/old style TT. I am rather exasperated, I'm afraid, but I hope to be convinced!!

Take That & Westlife
Well on a TT forum chances are most would say: Best TT. As for sales, as a guess I would say Westlife have sold more world wide.

New Album 'III', lead single 'These Days'
Milly, I love your passion!!!! I really hope that TT keep their promise and do small gigs around Europe. If the venues hold 1,000 people or less, so be it. For those TT fans who haven't seen them before, it will be a dream come true. I see no egos in TT this time around. It can't have been easy to change the Vienna venue to a much smaller one. Regardless of that TT gave a passionate and energetic performance for the small crowd who was there - and their love of performing was a joy to behold.

I thought the tour reviews had been very positive, is that not the case? Last night's reviews of the Vienna gig have been largely faviourable, although I have read some negative comments, mostly from fans who have travelled a long way and expected an extravagant show - so I can understand their disappointment. Having seen their high production shows I would relish the opportunity to see a more intimate and stripped back show. I think they showcase their music and vocals, which the special effects sometimes distract from. I also think it highlights the wonderful dynamics in the group and a more intimate gig allows their personalities to shine through. In my opinion the best concert from them in recent times was the Apple Music Festival - brilliant! No special effects, no elephant or mechanical man and no dancers - and all the better for it.

Take That - Live 2015 Tour
I'm glad they're getting decent crowds, if not sell outs. There was some indication at the Danish concert that the production element had been down sized, but that might have been just that show. I would defy anyone to stand up and say that TT don't, firstly, give value for money and secondly, put on an absolutely fantastic pop experience. They may not be everyone's cup of tea musically but they are a brilliant live group and it's sad that they're not more widely appreciated around the world.

Take That - Live 2015 Tour
Hi Elisabeth. I don't think many of us disputed your views. Most of us recognize that Rob is significantly more popular than TT. I'm sure I said at the time, but I'm too lazy to check back through the posts, that the large number of German dates was optimistic. I was surprised they didn't go for smaller venues, and less venues to start with. Ironically, I think the Dubai date will be a sell out - Gary had a big crowd when he played solo there. It's a real shame that more people won't get to see the tour. It's a great one and it's very unfortunate that they won't reach a wider audience. Their stint at the Apple festival showed that they're at the top of their game and still outshine much younger performers.

Take That - Live 2015 Tour
At the moment it seems to be just the Vienna date. The new venue holds around 2,000 - 3,000. I think the original venue was an arena so I guess in the region of 10,000 plus capacity. Info released states that GA and Golden Circle tickets are fine, but anyone who purchased seating must re -purchase. Reading between the lines this suggests that they sold fewer than 3,000 tickets, in which case the original venue would have been less than half capacity. I sincerely hope this isn't indicative of other European dates, but I have a bad feeling. I thought they were too ambitious with the amount of Germany dates they put out, but I never thought they'd miscalculate to such an extent. I think the lack of promotion and touring in Europe may have come back to haunt them. The BW tour sold ok, they didn't tour with Circus (and they should have ) and then they did a big European tour with Rob, which didn't truly reflect their popularity, so much as Rob's.

Take That - Live 2015 Tour
Re above. Worried for fans who purchased tickets for the Vienna gig. The new venue is tiny!! I don't know how they'll fit the production into such a small space. I'm no stage designer but to replicate the lll production in the Gasometer will be problematic, at best, and impossible, at worst. If they've changed the venue due to poor ticket sales then the bands management/promoters need a kick up the backside. To leave it so, so late to inform fans of the change, is to say the least, very inconsiderate. They should have released a small number of tour dates for Europe, and if sales were healthy, they could have added additional dates at a later stage.

It seems the lads have changed the venue for their Vienna concert ( a very late decision). Does anyone know why? When the European dates were released I feared they'd over estimated demand. I think the new venue, the Gasometer is a much smaller venue than the original one? If the change is indeed due to poor ticket sales, I hope this isn't indicative of European sales across the board.

New Album 'III', lead single 'These Days'
I think you're probably right, Milly. Gary sounded fantastic and his high notes were very much on point. Pray is one of my top TT songs and I loved last night's interpretation. I really liked Mark's shirt by the way:) He has a distinct sartorial style!! It must have been mighty hot in there as Gary never noticeably sweats, but last night he certainly did. As for Mark, the man must be dehydrated when he comes off stage, he sweats so much!! It's such a shame they don't have wider worldwide appeal. They're amongst the best pop acts around, they really are. I can bet you the coverage ID get for their appearance in a couple of days will be off the scale. I use them as a comparison as they're in the same 'genre' as TT, well according to the general public. Interesting times for TT - concert in Dubai, European dates and if rumours are true, possibly gig in the US and new recordings.

Thanks for posting the link , Milly! I made a similar comment on the other thread. They were absolutely fantastic. I agree Pray was brilliant and RMF - although not one of my favourites, was, perhaps, the best rendition I've heard of the song. I would have liked one or two more songs from lll and Said It All on the set list. TT are without a shadow of a doubt, a premier live act. I still miss Jay very much but they work brilliantly as a trio.

Sorry, Jay. Rubbish IT skills. I found it by chance. It's about 10 minutes long but haven't been able to find it again on You Tube. It was something to do with Periscope - Finding Neverland. How good were TT at the Apple Festival last night!!! Day off work today and full concert in on You Tube- fantastic, and it goes to show that they don't need a full production to put on a great show. My only criticism - yet again a lack of songs off the lll album.

We've all commented previously on this era of lll being an odd one. Without a doubt a large section of their fan base deserted them this time around. I would have bet anything on them achieving a million plus album sales, despite Jay leaving and the tax issue. All their albums since 2006 achieved 2 million plus - it will be so interesting to see if they make a recovery sales wise. Extensive promotion of the next album and a massive ballad as a first single is essential in my view. If anyone is interested there's a video on you tube of Gary and Eliot's performance on Broadway the other night.

Unfortunately, I agree with you, Pippa. The public seems to have a long memory where TT and tax are concerned. I would be very surprised if Gary organized a CIN concert this year; which would be a great shame as I always look forward to them. The one held at the RAH was fantastic.

Jay, I really don't know where Gary gets the energy to juggle so many things at one time. It seems he's in NY next week for a performance at the theatre. It does indeed appear that US fans will get some kind of TT show, as well. Keeping my fingers crossed that they extend performances out to other European countries - would be so lovely for fans like Milly to see them live.

Pippa, I think Gary has tweeted that new music will be out in around four weeks. No clear indication whether it's a re-booted album release or a new single.

Take That - General Chart Topic
To add to my earlier post it seems that the festival is over 10 days and will be broadcast around the world. Some big acts playing over that period, but unfortunately I can't see TT getting many headlines with the likes of ID playing. Nevertheless it will be great to watch their live performance. I'd like to think that they'll showcase some of the other songs from lll, such as HTH, Freeze, Into The Wild - but it's unlikely :(

It seems TT are booked to appear at the Apple Music Festival this month. This follows on from the Car Fest Festival. Not sure about this new strategy, as I can't see TT gathering new fans from these type of events. I do wonder why they've suddenly gone down this route? What they should be doing is booking TV slots. As there are few shows outside of X Factor and Strictly in the UK their own "Audience With" type show would be most effective.

Take That - General Chart Topic
I really can't see any major change in how they promote and release their music. Their output has been relatively stable, with an album release every two years, up until their three/four year hiatus. Any attempt at breaking into the wider European , Asian, and America markets should have been considered on their return in 2005/6. For whatever reason; family commitments, a lack of confidence in their material, poor marketing and management, all will have played a part in the strategy they chose. I'm afraid, however good their music is from now on, there is little possibility of success outside of their core fan base. It isn't all negative in my view. I strongly believe that they can regain some momentum in the UK market and have another million selling album - outside of this their chances are negligible.

Good to have you back, Milly. The lll era has been a strange one for all sorts of reasons. It's a shame that HTH and other good songs haven't received a wider audience.
