  1. Enjoying your write-ups Dandy! My knowledge of 70s popular music is minimal so I’m just playing anything you mention really. So far my favourite discovery is Pop Muzik! My fave of the number ones was the Dr Hook one. I’m also a big fan of No More Tears (Enough is Enough). It’s exactly the sort of anti-men pop diva music I love.
  2. CONAN GRAY NIK KERSHAW DAVID BOWIE SHAWN MENDES (the original is way better though. Would’ve been no.1 ) TROYE SIVAN RUEL ERIC SAADE GEORGE MICHAEL THE WEEKND MARKUS RIVA GUITARRICADELAFUENTE FRED AGAIN
  3. FLORENCE HAIM BLONDIE ATOMIC KITTEN ACE OF BASE GIRLICIOUS THE CORRS THE CHICKS 1975 SCISSOR SISTERS ABBA ERASURE Never ever heard of Girlicious before this but they’re sounding iconic to me, even with a randomly sent song. Queens!
  4. LILY ALLEN KESHA FKA TWIGS KELLY CLARKSON TONI BRAXTON MICHELLE BRANCH CHAPPELL ROAN NELLY FURTADO DELTA GOODREM LISA NADIA OH ROSALIA Michelle Branch is proving to be the discovery of the competition for me!
  5. Some intriguing choices in here from the ones I know already. Glass & Patron was my entry to the recent bop Idol one-hit wonder spin off and seemed to go down well there so fingers crossed it’s well received here in the pop forum too.
  6. Could be another one where Blondie win I reckon! Or maybe Florence. Yet again the strongest category though from the songs I already know. The groups are bringing it!!!
  7. Catching up on all the results this morning. Quite amazing results on the whole. I can’t think of a time when 6/7 of the top 7 were in my votes. My tastes don’t normally align with the rest so much. It’s also one of my favourite winners since I’ve been entering. It may not be a discovery but it’s a song I’ve adored for years so I couldn’t give my 18 to anything else. People should listen to the whole ‘Palomino’ album really but I’d recommend ‘Angel’ and ‘The Last One’ especially if you’re short for time. It’s funny that I’ve loved ‘Out of my Head’ for years and never once thought it’d be suited to BJSC, so in many ways it’s a surprise hit to me. Great choice from Cheiron to have the foresight to send it. I’m excited to visit there next month. EDIT: Oh… or not ^ .. hahahaha The only bad thing is I can’t help but be a little disappointed with Florence Road missing the top ten. When I sent it, I had no expectations of it getting hype but the it’s easy to get carried away when you see the predictions thread. 14th is a good result for Ajanaeda in comparison to our mean average final position, so yay! And it’s still awesome to see my entry connected enough with people to get a few medal positions from various countries so a big thank you to them. I’ve booked to see Florence Road on tour this May so keep an eye out if they’re visiting a city near you 👀
  8. It’s nice to seee numerous ppl comment on how great a discovery Conan Gray’s song is! This era was soooo underrated . That was like maybe the 5th best song from the era and it was still 2nd in my votes.
  9. I was waiting for Milky to show up… it’s all over my tiktok!! It’s been stuck in my head loads
  10. 1 THE CORRS (fav) 2 HAIM 3 FLORENCE + THE MACHINE 4 BLONDIE 5 GIRLICIOUS 6 ACE OF BASE 7 ABBA 8 A1 9 ATOMIC KITTEN 10 ERASURE 11 THE 1975 12 SCISSOR SISTERS 13 THE CHICKS (least fave) The ABBA one seemed like a rogue choice (only because I’d never heard it really) but turned out to be a mega bop. Thanks for the discovery!! Excited to see what Atomic Kitten do offer up elsewhere because I have a huge soft spot for them!
  11. 18 Jealous Type - Doja 15 Jump - Blackpink 13 Breakin dishes - Rihanna 12 What was That - lorde 11 Folded - kejlani 10 Mystical Magical - benson 09 Born Again - raye 08 House tour - Sabrina 07 The Dead Dance - Gaga 06 Madeline - Lily Allen 05 No Good Deed - wicked 04 One Thing - Lola Young 03 What It Sounds Like - huntrix 02 Arms length - sam fender 01 Nobody’s girl - Tate
  12. 1 CHAPPELL ROAN (fave) 2 KELLY CLARKSON 3 DELTA GOODREM 4 NELLY FURTADO 5 MICHELLE BRANCH 6 KESHA 7 TONI BRAXTON 8 LILY ALLEN 9 FKA TWIGS 10 NADIO OH 11 CHER LLOYD 12 LiSA 13 ROSALIA Michelle Branch was my biggest discovery in this round! Ranked it immediately higher than some songs I’ve been familiar with for years!!!! I feel like the one person on Earth who doesn’t really get Rosalia (aside from a few songs) so that seems to have continued here. I bet she goes far though! I think Kelly is a strong competitor for the win if we stick with 14 songs from the first few eras. If there’s an album track round then Twigs could storm that too. So many 10/10 choices.
  13. 1 TROYE SIVAN (fave) 2 CONAN GRAY 3 NIK KERSHAW 4 THE WEEKND 5 SHAWN MENDES 6 FRED AGAIN 7 DAVID BOWIE 8 ERIC SAADE 9 RUEL 10 LUKE BLACK 11 MARKUS RIVA 12 GUITARRICADELAFUENTE 13 GEORGE MICHAEL (least fave) I’ve been doing a bit of an 80s deep dive this year so I already knew ‘The Riddle’ but I’m excited to see what else comes from Nik Kershaw as I’ve liked everything I’ve heard. I expect I’ll know all the Weeknd/Troye/Conan/Shawn songs, but all have made good choices with this first entry. You could just end anything from that Troye era and I’d probably rank it first. The others will hopefully give me some good discoveries as that’s usually a great thing about this contest, and why I was still keen to vote last time despite not entering.
  14. I think this is the most competitive of the three auditions which I wouldn’t have expected!

i cried and cried and cried watching this. essential viewing!
  18. These are great recommendations. My two faves of hers are 'The Walls Are Way Too Thin' and 'Sleep Tight'.
  19. Didn’t really take much notice of the Semi 2 songs but just noticed that the First Aid Kit song is actually “Out of My Head”, a song which I adore !!! In fact, that whole era racked up 100s of plays for me. So yay for that!
  20. Crazy how strong this month is because th at Bronzil song is the sort of thing that’d usually qualify easy! Thanks for the discovery anyway
  21. Yay 100% qualifiers in our household this evening!! We can sleep easy now
  22. Deep sigh of relief after getting through a tough semi!!! Happy for Herbilore too 🤩

They are accounted for in a film’s lifetime gross, but box office charts often focus on just the weekends. If you look at an overall 2026 box office list the it will include the weekday takings in their totals.
  24. Yes love the method that makes our entry more successful use that one!!
