Cheering on Jessie Ware & Katy B here again. Seems like I'm supporting them more than my own entry, haha but they're killing it!

ROUND 3: album track 'Angels Like You' (from Plastic Hearts, 2020) 19IG7ZfaxZ8 This wasn't going to be my original choice for Round 3 as I was planning to save it for later... BUT I gave in to peer pressure and here it is. I'm just a spokesperson for the people after all :P Angels Like You seemed to be a highlight for many when the album was released and people have been demanding she give it the single treatment it deserves (rather than dropping the whole album era at the first chance, as she often likes to do...). However, this was put on New Music Friday playlists worldwide when the album was released so still managed to make a little splash on the charts. I'm sure it actually would have been a top 40 UK chart smash if not released in the run up to Christmas, if I recall correctly?! Anyway, fingers crossed this can be another success for us after grabbing a medal spot in the first two rounds. Let's go for GOLD this time!

I'll throw some love in the mix for Midnight Caller too! It was FAR too good to just be a bonus track...

Howl would be an AMAZING entry for one of the album track rounds !!

Round 2 finishes shortly so let's take a look at what could be our entry for round 3! The theme for this one is a free choice album track. I thought it might be nice to send a slow/ballad type track for this one as I imagine the next two album track choices are going to be uptempos. In my original road map for the competition, these were my potentials. - FU (or anything from Bangerz really... I'm not sure what is popular and what is not?) - Obsessed (I always liken this to When I Look at You which is fairly popular so could do alright) - The Driveway (This is my personal fave!!) - Bang Me Box (Left field choice for sure but I think the Dead Petz era is pretty underrated and could do with some belated attention) Any other thoughts or suggestions? Hmm.

ROUND 2: first or last single from an era 'Malibu' (from Younger Now, 2017) 8j9zMok6two The stripped-down approach worked pretty well for us in Round 1 so I'm hoping that 'Malibu' can somewhat recreate that success. This track is one of my all-time personal favourite Miley singles and was actually my most played by her until the Plastic Hearts era arrived and 'Midnight Sky' stormed ahead. It was her first step into the direction of mellowing down after the insanely controversial Bangerz and Dead Petz eras, and worked well at reminding the public of what she was capable of when she turned the crazy off for a moment. It just missed out on a top ten spot in the UK Official Charts but is now certified Platinum so it has stood the test of time. It fared slightly better in the US reaching a #10 peak on the other side of the pond. Fingers crossed it can reach a higher spot here like it deserved all along. :wub:

3rd for Slide Away! Not a bad start x Looking at Round 2, we have to pick a first or final single from an era. I reckon this one is really between Malibu OR Party in the USA based on the reception in this thread. I'll throw We Can't Stop in the mix too so but I think it's a bit more divisive than the other two. Looking at the road map ahead, this could be the last chance for any of these songs so let it be known if you have some strong opinions, or forever hold your peace :teresa:
