5 Star • (with Lil Wayne)
wV8HedOp17k New track from Wayne's new mixtape that Nicki features on. It uses the instrumental from Post Malone's "Rockstar". All of her features have been SO GOOD in the latter half of the year, please tell me this is the warm-up for the solo album coming ASAP :drama:

Krippy Kush [Remix] • (with Farruko & Bad Bunny)
3ATQvgkXT9E Can't get enough of this right now! I know I wasn't huge on it in the post above but it has grown on me so much, her verse is life and the chorus is super catchy - glad to see it taking off a little in the US now. She looks AMAZING in the video too

RESULTS: Buzzjack's Top Musical Films Of All Time
04. Hairspray | 2007 | 215 pts | Biggest lover: 2nd (HarryEzra) | Josh's Song Highlight: "Welcome to the 60's" (performed by Nikki Blonsky & John Travolta) lu5zrI3eUL0 Hairspray first debuted as a Broadway musical in 2002 and was adapted into a film in 2007 starring A-listers such as John Travolta, Michelle Pfieffer & Christopher Walken. The film was a financial success making over $200 million worldwide at the box office and there were even talks for a sequel which unfortunately never came to fruition. I do like Hairspray quite a bit and know it is absolutely heaps of fun but I'm not sure I'd rank it quite THIS high on my own countdown. John Travolta is a big highlight especially and it has plenty of laughs but I'm not sure it compares to some of the classics that have dropped out before this. "You Can't Stop the Beat" is the easy choice for song highlight but my own personal favourite is definitely "Welcome to the 60s" - I've always just found it super catchy and it was stuck in my brain for ages after first watching the film.

RESULTS: Beyoncé Singles Rate
15. Deja Vu Average - 7.85 Lovers (11 - Riser) Haters (3.5 - Euphorique // 5 - Cremey) RQ9BWndKEgs This is one of the earliest Bey songs that I actually remember being old enough to enjoy at the time of release and I think that is why it has remained one of my favourites by her ever since. It seems pretty underrated to me, most people just seem to like it but not love it whereas I think it's pretty perfect as far as pop songs go - I'd rather listen to this than Crazy In Love any day to be completely honest :o I couldn't quite give it the 11 due to my love for Drunk in Love but it definitely came close for me  14. XO Average - 7.87 Lovers (10 - Harry, Liam, mr Aly, Jonjo, Jay) Haters (4 - vibe // 5 - Sean) 3xUfCUFPL-8 XO was the joint lead single from the self-titled album but ended up being massively overshadowed by Drunk in Love which was a bit of a shock as this seems so much more radio friendly. It's quite nice but a bit dull and forgettable, it gets a bit lost for me in such an impressive discography. I like it but don't revisit it very often and is probably one of my least favourites on the album to be honest, alongside Superpower and No Angel.

RESULTS: Teenage Dream vs 1989
24. Peacock 22 points (Biggest fan: Harry - 10 points) iZEBNioAMxU 23. I Wish You Would 28 points (Biggest fan: Harry - 12 points) Cr0IuBFzbaA One from each artist falls out in this batch. Peacock has never been one of my Katy favourites to be honest so I'm not too gutted about it being pretty low, it's a bit too cheesy for me and is probably the biggest dud on Teenage Dream for me. I guess it's fun if you're drunk enough but I don't like listening to it on my own ever as it cringes me out a little bit. I Wish You Would is a lovely little track and is yet another one of the very high quality tracks on 1989. It's not as good as the singles really so I'm not fussed about it being fairly low when I look what is still to come. I do like hearing it on the album though and it's probably one of my album track highlights from any of Taylor's albums. So far... 23. I Wish You Would (28 points) 24. Peacock (22 points) 25. Pitch Perfect | 2012 | 198 pts | Biggest lover: 3rd (Theo) | Josh's Song Highlight: "Cups" (performed by Anna Kendrick) yhECTE2-Oqc I might be over-using this phrase a little bit now but ONLY ON BUZZJACK would Pitch Perfect be ranked as the FIFTH best musical movie of all-time?!?! Sure, it's a fantastic comedy, has some really cool sounding covers and even a lovely original song with its own dance routine but it really doesn't compare to some classics like Annie and Oliver that couldn't even make the top 10. I haven't seen this in a couple of years now but I'm a big fan of the Pitch Perfect franchise and this is obviously the film that introduced us to the amazing character that is Fat Amy. I've found all three films so far pretty much on par with each other quality wise so I'm a bit shocked this has ranked so much higher than the sequel but I guess it did feel slightly fresher the first time around. "Cups" is the obvious song highlight for me. The covers are cute and I like hearing the a cappella versions but Cups is a really good original song and I remember spending many hours trying to learn how to do the hand movements so I could sing along. I never mastered it but at least the song was lodged in my head for many months :heehee:

http://www.slate.com/content/dam/slate/blogs/browbeat/2012/06/16/2WOZ_YellowBrick2.gif.CROP.original-original.gif 06. The Wizard of Oz | 1939 | 194 pts | Biggest lover: 2nd (Chez Wombat) | Josh's Song Highlight: "Ding-Dong! The Witch Is Dead" (performed by Billie Burke & The Munchkins) kPIdRJlzERo If I'm not mistaken, I believe that The Wizard of Oz is the oldest film to make the countdown here. It's just one of those films that completely stands the test of time and pretty much everyone I know has seen it because it's such a classic. It tells the story of a young girl who kept swept up in a tornado to a magical faraway land, accidentally landing on and killing off an evil witch with her house. It has gone down in history as one of the greatest films in cinema history (unlike a certain High School Musical which is still yet to come... ONLY ON BUZZJACK!!) known for its use of technicolour and memorable characters. Every can remember the likes of Dorothy, Toto, Scarecrow, Tin Man, Cowardly Lion, Glinda, Wicked Witch of the West, The Wizard of Oz himself from their childhoods and it's just crazy to think how many iconic characters this film has in it. I haven't seen this in a long, long time now but it was one of my favourites during childhood so I really should re-watch it some time soon. It always seems to be on TV around Christmas so I've probably missed my window of opportunity now so maybe next year :P "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" is obviously a lovely song and Judy Garland absolutely nails it despite being a teenager at the time of filming but my favourite song has to go "Ding-Dong! The Witch Is Dead". I always used to find it rather morbidly fun as a child and of course The Munchkins were my favourites when I was younger too

Motown Appreciation Thread
I don’t know why it took me 18 years but I’ve come to the conclusion that Motown is clearly the best music sub-genre of them all - such a timeless sound  I think my top three are Baby Love by The Supremes, I Want You Back by The Jackson 5 and Jimmy Mack by Martha & the Vandellas. I know Motown is technically a music company but it obviously has a distinct sound that has influenced many songs since. Here is a place to discuss all your faves and maybe give me some recommendations? (wasn’t entirely sure what subforum to put this in so hopefully this works for you mods !!)

Clean 22 points (Biggest fan: Andrew - 10 points) 0r5B85_Czts 1989 is still not on YouTube for the most part so have these lovely chorus from random internet people :) I'm completely shocked that Clean has managed to finish this high, it's always been the obvious weak point on the album for me and would firmly be at the bottom out of both of these albums, oops. I Know Place is a bit more exciting but nothing that thrilling, there are definitely much bigger highlights on both albums so #26 seems about fair. So far... 25. Clean (22 points) 26. 07. Les Miserables | 2012 | 186 pts | Biggest lover: 5th (Jade) | Josh's Song Highlight: "I Dreamed a Dream" (performed by Anne Hathaway) WzNVmZfNoa8 We go from one of campiest musicals on the countdown to one of the most serious ones now with Les Mis which touches upon all sorts of topics including war, death and prostitution. It follows the life of a convict and his life of hiding his past under his new identity, constantly running from the police. Les Miserables has been made into countless films by now but it's the 2012 Hollywood adaptation that brought it new levels of fame. It was nominated for 8 Oscars that year and took home three awards for Anne Hathaway, Make-up/Hairstyling and Sound Mixing. I've seen this twice now on the West End but in all honesty, I probably do prefer this film adaptation of the story. The plot is a bit dark and serious to be one of my absolute favourite musicals but I remember being mind blown when I first saw it in cinemas and there's a good reason that the story has stood the test of time since it was first released as a novel in 1862. Speaking of Anne Hathaway taking home the Oscar that year, "I Dreamed a Dream" is the big MOMENT in the film so there really is no other option for song highlight - her delivery of every line completely sells every word! Shout out to "Master of the House" too for being ridiculous amounts of fun :cheer:

08. Little Shop of Horrors | 1986 | 173 pts | Biggest lover: 1st (Josh) | Josh's Song Highlight: "Skid Row (Downtown)" (performed by Rick Moranis, Ellen Greene & Cast) z0kSBiu1IGk And here comes the time where my #1 favourite musical drops out  I wasn't actually expecting it to get this high so I'm really pleased that others love it so much too. Based off the 1982 original stage show, Little Shop of Horrors tells the story of a blood-thirsty plant and the lengths his owner must go to in order to keep his human-eating shrub happy. I feel like this is one of the most well known classic musicals and it's not hard to see why so many people love it for how fun and campy it is. I remember watching an amateur production of it when I was much younger and just falling in love with the songs as well as the bonkers storyline  The doo-wop/motown sound of the songs makes them super catchy if you like classics from the likes of The Supremes and The Jackson 5. I've gone for "Skid Row" as the highlight just because it has such a gorgeous chorus. "Little Shop of Horrors", "Suddenly, Seymour", "Dentist!" and "Somewhere That's Green" are all 10/10 too though.

Ray BLK - Doing Me / / (38-12-5-7-18-24-x) 6 weeks Two Door Cinema Club had a really good run last year with their album so it was no surprise that Lavender was also a big hit for me in my weekly charts after it was announced as a single because it was always one of my favourites from the album. It had a really healthy chart run but I don't go back to it very often at all now hence the kind of low placing here. I wasn't sure what to think of Amsterdam at first and I remember posting saying that it was my least favourite single of theirs to date, it ended up growing massively on me and was stuck in my head all the time, the chart run for it here really does not do it justice. I had never even heard of Moose Blood at the start of the year but I heard Cheek though Radio 1 and it just kept on growing on me until it became a top 10 hit, I hadn't heard anything from them until recently but I'm enjoying their new single a fair bit too. Milky Chance are obviously most well-known for 'Stolen Dance' but I think that Cocoon could well be my favourite of theirs yet. I'm not sure why the chart run was so short for it in hindsight but it's super catchy and I enjoy listening to it when I remember it actually exists. Doing Me also has a ridiculously short chart run for a top 10 hit but it was a super busy time in my chart back then so it's not really fair. The most promising track from Ray BLK yet in my opinion so I'm excited to hear more.

Josh's EOY 2017
Easy Love definitely remains his best for me. Say You Do was fabulous too so I think I'd rank this third of his big hit singles. Hope he comes back with another Summer smash next year :heehee:  Thank you very much for commenting, Pete <3 I agree that 21 Savage probably has the catchiest part actually. I'm sold on Post Malone after the holy trinity of this, I Fall Apart and Congratulations though  Thank you for commenting Lewis!!! :D Glad you like! Thanks for commenting Harry

Joseph's Hit 250 | Year-End 2017 *COMPLETE, FULL LIST PG 11*
:hi: Joseph Didn't realise that you never loved either of Despacito or I'm the One. The former was definitely my favourite for a moment but it burned out so quickly with all the overplay and now I massively prefer the latter. I'm glad he added to his already impressive hits tally though because both are bangers, I'd love to hear him on some more urban hooks like ITO  Yay for RFI appearing too, I'm glad she did officially release it as a single in the end anyway even if it didn't do much either side of the pond post-video. Hoping Gorgeous can be a hit here in the UK at least <3

RESULTS: Reputation ● Rate
Basically this. It's in the top three album tracks on Reputation for me alongside "I Did Something Bad" and "End Game". Sure, it's super petty but then so are some of her best songs (Better Than Revenge, We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together and many more ). So It Goes... is quite nice too although it is a little on the dull side. New Year's Day should've been last :o

Liam's EOY 2017
Hi Liam Yay at Sorry Not Sorry appearing here, I'm glad it eventually grew on you. It wasn't instant love for me either but I think it may be her best ever single for me now. It's a toss up between that and "Give Your Heart a Break"! Beautiful Trauma is a catchy little track too, definitely stronger than WAU in my opinion as I went off that really quickly. Hopefully she pushes Revenge and Secrets as singles in the future *.*

Sergej's Year-End Countdown Lists 2017
Melodrama is unfortunately the only album I've heard in full in the top three :( I love it though, I'd pick "Writer in the Dark" as my absolute favourite from it though. I've been meaning to listen to DAMN. for ages but still haven't got round to it yet. HUMBLE, DNA and LOYALTY have all been excellent singles to add to his already impressive discography :music:

Wombat 2017
Not seen a single one of those TV shows and probably won't have heard many of the songs but I'm super excited for the Movies section which I hopefully will be a bit more familiar with :') I've still been enjoying the commentaries anyway. The Handmaid's Tale was on my watchlist for ages but I never got around to it, your write-up really makes me want to see it now :drama:

Lewis's Top 100 of 2017
Still can't get enough of Little Mix at the moment! All of the new songs from the re-release are fabulous so they BETTER push IYLE in the New Year, has the potential to be one of their best singles yet in my opinion. I'd love to see a video for it too!! Kendrick has had a great year too, still haven't listened to the album yet but that is definitely my fault as I think I'd really enjoy it. HUMBLE is definitely his defining track of the year but I've loved DNA and LOYALTY a lot too. Getting into LOVE at the moment too now that it's taking off in the US  Loving this so far Lewis!!

Thermo's hot hits | EOY 2017
Hi Dan Yay at By Your Side making the top 100 here. It's still my favourite Jonas Blue single to this date, I'll never get over how it never took off in the same way that his other singles before & after have  I'm a big fan of the chopped vocals and RAYE is a fantastic vocalist too. I'm not keen on YDKM though so I hope something can prevent it being #1 here :heehee: It's nice to see a little indie representation in the top 100 too even if Arcade Fire is the only example of that. I wasn't expecting to like a song by them as much as I did too but it ended up being one of the soundtrack songs to my summer, so joyous and it never failed to lift my spirits

BridgeCow's Chart EOY 2017
Hiya! First Time is super under-rated, it seems to get a hard time on Buzzjack but I've always thought it was really catchy and I like Ellie's vocals on it too. It's certainly not as good as IAM as you mentioned but it's still a bit of a banger, I was hoping it would be a bigger chart hit than it actually was  Rollin' is really good too, I wish he had pushed it as a proper single rather than just a promotional one. I always liked the funky production on it and it was my favourite track of the era until Feels came along. :music:

HarryEzra's EOY 2017
Hi Harry OMGMOGMOMGM save as draft as album highlight!!! I would say it's the worst song of her career but now she has stuff like Swish Swish, Miss You More & Into Me You See fighting for that title too  There are some brilliant pop songs on the album for sure and I do enjoy returning to it but it's so much worse than her other three albums that it's hard not to be disappointed with it. Long gone are the days of no filler with Teenage Dream  I think Reputation has become my second favourite Taylor album now (behind 1989 though instead) so I hope it can do so too for you in time. I wasn't keen on the second half of the album at first but it has really grown on me. I hope "I Did Something Bad" is a single in the future though because it goes OFF, I love the instrumental to it especially :music:  Loving this!! :cheer:

RESULTS: Buzzjack's Top Musical Films Of All Time
09. Mamma Mia | 2008 | 167 pts | Biggest lover: 2nd (Josh & Jahq) | Josh's Song Highlight: "Does Your Mother Know?" (performed by Christine Baranski) qefnmCJI8IM Another one of my all-time favourites drops out know but I'm super glad it made the top 10 anyway so yay! Mamma Mia uses the classic songs from ABBA's discography to tell the story of a young lady who is getting married and wants to seek out her biological father to invite him to the wedding. Little does she know that all of the potential fathers will turn up to the island without her mother knowing... Up until Wonder Woman was such a huge success this year, Mamma Mia actually held the record for highest grossing (worldwide) live-action movie directed by a woman! :o It was such a huge financial success as ABBA are obviously such a global phenomenon and now the studio have finally made a sequel that is due out in 2018. Meryl was nominated for a Golden Globe for her performance here but ended up being nominated that year in Lead Actress at the Oscars for Doubt instead. Meryl is easily the best thing about the film but Julie Walters & Christine Baranski are heaps of fun too and there aren't many other movies you get to see serious actors like Colin Firth & Pierce Brosnan wearing flared trousers singing Waterloo by ABBA during the closing credits. I was about to go for "The Winner Takes It All" as the song highlight because it is my personal favourite ABBA song ever and Meryl sells the emotion in that scene so, so, so well but then I remembered how hilarious "Does Your Mother Know?" is and HAD to go for that instead. Christine Baranski clearly knows how to flirt and her performance here during this song is one of my favourite musical moments ever
