  1. 10. Chicago | 2002 | 152 pts | Biggest lover: 4th (Josh) | Josh's Song Highlight: "Cell Block Tango" (performed by Catherine Zeta-Jones & The Cell Block Girls) qrrz54UtkCc Yay, this is one of my favourite results from this countdown! I wasn't so how liked Chicago was on Buzzjack so I was really chuffed when it sneaked into the top 10 as it is one of my favourite musicals ever. I'd love to see the stage show one day too, I think seeing this live is top of my list from the ones I've not seen yet. It tells the story of two murderers who fight for fame in order to prevent being sent down for their crimes. The film was a huge critical success and it one six Academy Awards that year (more than the likes of The Pianist, The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers and Gangs of New York) including Best Picture and Best Supporting Actress for Catherine Zeta-Jones. Renee Zellweger, Queen Latifah and John C. Reilly all scored acting nominations that year too meaning the film scored an overall 13 nominations :o This is one of those really fun musicals that never fails to put a smile on your face. The humour is dry at times but certainly laugh out loud funny, the songs are super catchy and the visuals and choreography are all top notch. The characters are all pretty hilarious too, I've always thought Renee Zellweger as Roxie in this is super under-rated  I guess "All That Jazz" is probably the most well-known and iconic song in Chicago and whilst Catherine Zeta-Jones completely nails her version of it in the film, "Cell Block Tango" will always be my favourite. It's sassy, it's fierce and wryly humorous too - what's not to love?
  2. All of this!! It has some of the best musical songs ever in my opinion and characters like Audrey II and the Dentist are just so much fun. Theo's post is actual blasphemy :heehee: :drama:
  3. The trailer isn't doing anything for me really... Meryl made the first movie what it was so lack of new footage of her makes me really worried, I'm hoping that's just a red herring and she hasn't been killed off or just reduced to a tiny cameo or I'll be so upset  :drama:
  4. It's nice to get another high-budget visual feast music video from her but she urgently needs to STOP with the terrible "humour" that she's trying to put in to her recent videos. I thought Swish Swish was bad but this video is just as physically painful to watch and impossible to not cringe :drama:
  5. This is super tough because her collaborations with David always seem to be bangers. Turn Me On is probably the one I love the most but Hey Mama would be super close behind. I'm not as huge on Where Them Girls At but that's probably because there's not enough Nicki on it :heehee:
  6. One final recap before we hit the top 10 :cheer: Any predictions or hopes for what is to come?! :o 40. Beauty and the Beast (2017) (48 pts) 39. Dreamgirls (48 pts) 38. Evita (51 pts) 37. Sing Street (51 pts) 37. Sister Act (51 pts) 35. Jersey Boys (54 pts) 34. Sing (54 pts) 33. Blues Brothers (60 pts) 32. Trolls (61 pts) 31. Muppets Christmas Carol (68 pts) 30. Dirty Dancing (69 pts) 29. The Bodyguard (73 pts) 28. Moana (75 pts) 27. The Muppets (80 pts) 26. High School Musical 2 (83 pts) 25. Into the Woods (85 pts) 24. Mary Poppins (85 pts) 23. Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (87 pts) 22. Enchanted (91 pts) 21. Bugsy Malone (110 pts) 20. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (117 pts) 19. Pitch Perfect 2 (118 pts) 18. Beauty and the Beast (1991) (120 pts) 17. Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory (125 pts) 16. West Side Story (130 pts) 15. La La Land (131 pts) 14. Oliver! (133 pts) 13. The Lion King (139 pts) 12. Annie (141 pts) 11. Frozen (145 pts)
  7. 11. Frozen | 2013 | 145 pts | Biggest lover: 2nd (UltraReputation) | Josh's Song Highlight: "Let It Go" (performed by Idina Menzel) moSFlvxnbgk One thing I was NOT expecting when counting up the results was Frozen to rank as the highest animated musical in the countdown :o I really thought the likes of Beauty and the Beast, Lion King (and even Little Mermaid etc.) were going to finish way higher than this and I certainly wasn't expecting it to land just outside the top 10! It tells the story of two sisters, one with magical ice superpowers, and the tough relationship they must deal with when the magical powers get out of control. Frozen is obviously one of the biggest financial successes of all-time, currently ranking at #9 on the all-time worldwide box office highest grossing movies list with $1.27 BILLION made. It was popular with all ages and even won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature over tough competition from Despicable Me 2, The Wind Rises, The Croods and Ernest & Celestine. In terms songs, "Do You Want to Build a Snowman" is probably my favourite to watch because I really like the way they grow up in the visuals and I love the image of the two girls either side of the door wanting to be together but knowing it's not possible. However, "Let It Go" as a song is easily my favourite, an undeniably impressive vocal performance from Idina Menzel and it just creates such a huge moment in the film that it's impossible not to love
  8. 101. Post Malone feat. 21 Savage - Rockstar / / (12-10-9-11-10-8-15-20-32-50-x) 10 weeks 102. Bastille - Blame / / (9-6-12-19-27-42-48-x) 7 weeks 103. The xx - Say Something Loving / / (10-10-11-11-20-21-28-40-x) 8 weeks 104. Sigala feat. Ella Eyre - Came Here for Love / / (26-20-18-17-22-30-43-xx-42-x) 8 weeks 105. Zayn & Taylor Swift - I Don't Wanna Live Forever / / (8-8-12-11-17-26-39-40-45-49-47-x) 11 weeks Rockstar is definitely the biggest hit on my personal chart to appear here in terms of weeks near the top of the chart but it is starting to get a little old already. It's not overplayed enough that I despise listening to it anymore like Despacito but I am a little worried that I'm going off it quickly now. I saw Bastille live at the O2 Arena late last year and Blame was a big highlight of the setlist so I was really pleased when it was picked as a single, it's not as good as "Good Grief" but definitely one of the best on the album. Whilst most people highlight "On Hold" or something else as their favourite from I See You, Say Something Loving would definitely be my pick, gorgeous is the only word to describe it really  I'm not sure why the chart run for Came Here for Love isn't much better but I just never had a week where I absolutely loved it so its peak looks pretty low. It never got old though and I still love listening to it now to put me in a good mood so it deserves to be up this high with the higher peakers. I Don't Wanna Live Forever seemed to be pretty marmite here on Buzzjack but I'm in the big fan camp on this one, it's hardly the best track from either artist but I like how sensual it sounds and it really works for a movie like Fifty Shades. I seem to remember forgetting to chart this for a little while because it wasn't on Spotify so it probably deserves a slightly higher peak on my personal chart, oops.
  9. Shocked at you hating Chasing Highs so much! I've always found it really catchy and I think ALMA is a really cool artist too, I hope "Phases" hasn't destroyed her hype completely. I'm quite glad she went with Everyday over Greedy tbh, I've always found the latter a little overrated but then I always do seem to prefer her more urban tracks to her proper pop hits. Give me another Love Me Harder/Side to Side any day over Into You/One Last Time etc. :o Thank you for commenting Lewis!! It's such a good track, I'm still really gutted that most people in the UK never really got to hear it. Could've been the first big smash for Shakira in years  Thanks Lenny!! How Long is still to come! I seem to just prefer that really but Attention is indeed a banger. I liked his sound from the first era too though so I always had high hopes for his return. Thanks for commenting Liam!! How Long is still to come at least!! WDTA had been his biggest hit on my chart before but I think HL might be his best song yet for me. Very excited for the album based on the two pre-album singles we have heard so far  Thank you for commenting very much Lenny!! :D
  10. Hi Jordan! Definitely agree that the Homemade Dynamite remix is a little overcrowded. I think SZA works best on the track so it would have been nice to hear a version with just her in my opinion. "Writer in the Dark" is my favourite on the album but would have made a hopeless single so I don't blame her for going with HD even if it is also one of my least favourites too...
  11. Loving lots of albums in that section. Couldn't agree more with you on the highlights for the HAIM album, I'm praying they're going to push Ready for You as a single at some point
  12. Hello Dan For a track that I didn't like at first, I was shocked at how much Pretty Girl ended up growing on me! I couldn't look past the cheesy lyrics at first but the more I heard it, the more it grew, and now I'd say it's one of my favourite tracks of the year. Ridiculously catchy and the dance remix makes it even better. In the Morning is such a banger! I really thought the R1 play listing as going to be the start of taking off really rapidly so I was gutted when nothing happened for it charts wise. I'd love to hear it out and about but I guess it's already a bit forgotten
  13. Hi BridgeCow I was like you at first with YDB where it was an OK track but nothing particularly exciting and I didn't go back to it for a little while. It ended up being a massive slow burner for me though and one of the longest personal chart runs on my chart this year :o I'm glad he finally got his solo hit in the UK but I do wish Location was a huge smash too :(
  14. Hi Joseph Shocked at how low No More Sad Songs here, it underperformed a bit for me too compared to all of their other singles since Black Magic but I still love it a lot. I really appreciated the Machine Gun Kelly remix too, that definitely made it feel a bit more fresh again after I had burned the album version out a bit. LWYMMD is my favourite Taylor lead yet, I think! I seem to be one of the very few people that still think it sounds amazing and haven't got sick of it at all. I agree with you 100% that the album isn't as good as 1989 on the whole though but that was always going to be a tough ask
  15. Hello and welcome to a new series in the Nicki Minaj forum! Nicki is known for her numerous collabs and that means that she has multiple collaborations with particular artists so here is your chance to rank them. First edition is David Guetta so how would you rank the Guetta & Minaj collaborations we have had the pleasure of hearing?
  16. 30. Pearl 07 points (Biggest fan: SeanGrey - 6 points) GStRUH2kqTw 29. Who Am I Living For? 12 points (Biggest fan: Jade - 7 points) uIRf-nFKfsU Things get worse for poor Katy as two more of her tracks drop out. That means 5 out of 6 at the bottom are Katy tracks, oops! Jade commented on how WAILF better not be paid dust and here it is in the next batch  These are both quite nice tracks but Teenage Dream is full of some really amazing singles so I guess it is hard for the lesser known tracks to really compete. I am shocked some of the dull 1989 tracks like Clean and This Love aren't out yet though :o So far... 29. Who Am I Living For? (12 points) 30. Pearl (07 points) 31. Not Like the Movies (06 points) 32. Last Friday Night (feat. Missy Elliot) (05 points) 34. Dressin' Up (00 points) 34. Your Are In Love (00 points)

Annie | 1982 | 141 pts | Biggest lover: 5th (Josh!) | Josh's Song Highlight: "Little Girls" (performed by Carol Burnett) a1FOB95QUg0 Much like Oliver, I thought this was another one of those classic musicals that would be a shoo-in for a top 10 placing but I have been proved wrong  Annie tells the story of a young orphan who is looked after by a wicked carer until she is lucky enough to be picked to live with a billionaire for a week. I think this is the first (non-Disney) musical that I ever saw because I was in a production of it when I was six years old. I remember loving all the songs and learning all the words within days and my love for musicals has been there ever since. I remember that I had a VHS boxset with this and Oliver on it and I used to watch them on repeat when I was little. Annie is one of those musicals that is just fantastic song after fantastic song so there really is loads of options for song highlight. "Tomorrow" is probably the most famous track and it is such a lovely moment in the film but I'm definitely a bigger fan of the fun/cheeky tracks such as "It's the Hard Knock Life" and "Easy Street". Carol Burnett as Miss Hannigan is one of my favourite performances in a film ever though and the personality and humour she injects into "Little Girls" makes it a song to remember

fupYIggOq38 Not entirely sure what is going on in the trailer but the cities on wheels concept certainly has me intrigued. Omg at getting trailers for films due out in 12 months time though, feels like forever away :drama: Sam informs me it is based off a book so may have to pick that up and give it a read too !
  19. 2ktuvx9hrMw Not familiar with the actual story of the Nutcracker at all really so going to try and avoid spoilers until the film is released so I can experience it for the first time. It's giving me a whole mixture of Narnia/Hunger Games/Black Swan/Alice in Wonderland vibes so I'm super excited to see what it's all about.

NyBgZzQT-NA I liked the tension of the first one lots and this trailer promises a hell of a lot more tension so I'm hyped for this. I'm very excited for more Taylor Sheridan scripts too after how good Wind River was. A bit gutted Emily Blunt isn't in this but Benicio Del Toro was the real MVP of the first movie anyway so at least he is back :cheer:

  23. This is all up to date now with the runs of her more recent singles. Haven't been keeping much of an eye on the charts recently and I was unaware that "MotorSport" was hanging about lower in the charts - would love if it could be a minor hit here now that it is taking off in a big way in the US :w00t:
