  1. What a slow start Mariah had in the UK, Someday and Loves Takes Time #1 in the US, but barely making a dent in the UK. Hopefully Emotions can keep rising through the years, it’s one of her most recognisable songs Great to see a recent single almost make the top 10 #Beautiful
  2. That actually isn’t bad? Most songs drop out if they are not on any big playlists to stabilise the initial fall. You obviously don’t understand how Spotify works, hun.
  3. Sweden showing taste as usual. This needs to be HUGE, the best new pure pop song in a long time.
  4. Isn’t it bizarre that Till the World Ends never appears? As it is the show closer. Is it suffering as it’s does not appear on the Greatest Hits albums?
  5. Good effect from London. Toxic - 332 Stronger - 488 ...Baby One More Time - 823 My Prerogative - 838 Work Bitch - 866 Circus - 1056 I’m a Slave 4 U - 1057 Boys - 1062 Womanizer - 1086 Make Me - 1105 Lucky - 1117 Born to Make You Happy - 1245 You Drive Me Crazy - 1388 Everytime - 1378 Oops I Did It Again - 1432 Albums: Glory - 1074 Circus - 1067 The Singles Collection - 973 Britney - 951 The Singles Collection (Deluxe) - 542 Greatest Hits: My Prerogative - 138
  6. I would say it was a combo of Forever Is Over being the lead single and the fact it had a ridiculous title. If they had lead with Ego - I think the story would have been very different. Ultimately it was the right thing to move on to Headlines as we got Higher from it, but I do think they gave up on Wordshaker too quickly.
  7. It was surprising that they playlisted Mariah in 2013 after snubbing her since 2008. I suppose she hasn’t really released anything since, but I would be amazed if they supported her new era. I think Lady GaGa and Katy Perry are probably the next to go unless either has a HUGE comeback.
  8. Britney Spears - Hold It Against Me (2011) Kylie Minogue - Get Outta My Way (2010) Robbie Williams - Shame (2010) Madonna - Celebration (2009) Take That - Love Love (2011) Leona Lewis - Trouble (2012) Christina Aguilera - Keeps Getting Better (2008) Kelly Rowland - Lay It On Me (2011) Jennifer Lopez - I’m Into You (2011) Kelly Clarkson - Heartbeat Song (2015) Mariah Carey - Beautiful (2013) I’ve listed some of the (still active) artists who Radio 1 won’t play and the last time they were added onto the playlist. Who (if any) would be most likely to be added in future? And who is at risk of joining them soon?

I thought it was quite good - People are so quick to criticise, but will moan “we don’t have a music show” when it’s axed. The format works well and I think it will be a hit with the audience it’s aiming for (not the 30+ year olds pining for a Top Of the Pops revival).

Selena and Demi are equal in that they are only as big as there last hit and overall in terms of album sales and relevance they are both miles behind Miley.
  11. Her "Warrior" era was a complete flop, which was a shame as it was quite a good album.
  12. Noticed that Camila is No 1 on the Hot Hits UK playlist, would be great if this could give it the final push for the top 10.
  13. Never gonna happen. I doubt Justin knows or cares where he charts in the UK and Ed already said that taking over the singles chart made him "uncomfortable", so I don't see him doing it either.

Mariah steady at #2, she's closing the gap, with 5000 streams separating her and CB.
  15. Mariah is up to 3 on Spotify already and she has the Christmas Carpool coming up, I really don't think she is out of the race.
  16. I think Mariah could do it this year, her streams should be huge that week and she has the Christmas Carpool Karaoke coming up, which should help with downloads.
  17. I'm pretty sure she's still trying to get that second album out.
  18. Albums: Piece By Piece - Kelly Clarkson (it's not as bad as most people are making out) My Everything - Ariana Grande (One Last Time convinced me to buy her album) Britney Jean - Britney Spears (uhh, it was £2 in HMV) Downloads: Doing It - Charli XCX Towards the Sun - Rihanna
  19. Couldn't happen to a better song.
  20. As someone else has said, an artist makes next to nothing from Spotify. It's essentially giving away their songs for free. I am 1 of the "12 million" that listen to her on Spotify, but I can go out and buy her CD's or download her album(s). As Spotify becomes more and more popular, album sales will keep decreasing. Unless Spotify find a way to more it profitable for the artist I can see more and more artists following Taylor's path.
  21. It's a wise decision. She's selling in huge amounts, with or without streaming. More artists should follow her lead.
  22. Disappointed The Saturdays don't get a track on the Live Lounge CD, the Mash-Up was great. Pretty much confirms they are no longer a Radio 1 artist.
  23. Go GRL!! :D
  24. It's been reduced to £7.99 in HMV.
