Speak Now and Dear John Last Kiss deserved better 😭 it always used to be bottom three on the album for me, but the lyrics hit very hard for me at pretty much the exact moment Taylor’s version dropped and now I utterly adore it, it’s lyrically superb (the second verse and the bridge are heartbreaking)

Finally! Hung Up and Biology are both in my top 25 songs of all time, so as much as I also adore it (and find it a 10/10 song) it’s an easy vote for Gwen for me this round!

(RTW is exactly where I expected it, thought WOTN would challenge for a higher place/average than that) Just ahead of Show Me Love, another 2013 single falls out in 8th. It was the 4th single from Word of Mouth and was the follow-up to Walks Like Rihanna. The song only just made the UK top 10 at #10 and was seen as an underperformance. It also charted at #94 in America, becoming their first song to chart since I Found You. The video sees the guys drinking and dancing with friends in a pub. (Hold your jars x) The song received two 9.5s here (one from myself) and mostly had solid songs. Quite honestly, this completely passed me by at the time of release, my Wanted stanning days were over and I was only really hearing their songs on NOW albums or the occasional time I tuned into the chart during that period. However, its certified itself as one of my faves by them over the past couple of months and I think this was a good shift in sound for the band, it gives me the vibes of the boybands that followed them like The Vamps. Also some lyrics in this hit 500x harder because of the past year. And in 7 with a big jump in average was their first original song released as a single since 2014, Rule The World. I instantly fell in love with this and yeah I think at this point, it just about certifies itself as my favourite song by the band (I gave it my 11 here, tho Lightning/All Time Low were so close). There's just something so euphoric about the chorus and production, the lyrics are poignant and touching, and honestly I felt this was as perfect as a comeback that they could've had sound wise, really harkening back to their best sound. I was the only 11, but about 95% of the scores were between 7 and 8.5, showing a pretty solid reaction! The song's co-writers include Max and Lauv, and was the lead single from the Greatest Hits collection. The band performed the song live on Good Morning America and at HITS Live. Unsurprisingly, their single charting days were behind them but the song peaked at #24 on the downloads chat. The acoustic version on the deluxe is also beautiful. This has definitely become one of my fave boyband songs nonstop over the past couple years <3 Another big jump in average for 6 and 5

I had Idina as placeholder but couldn’t find anything I love more to replace it 😂 (my other alternatives were returning to a genre I haven’t sent in years or returning to trolling). Move was a fun bop but Funny Kind Of Lonely is the album highlight, it’s such a beautiful dance-pop track and hope it will get some fans here! (And not my old af flag working perfectly here with the Frozen connection!!)

The song was the 4th and final single from Battleground, but struggled as a post-album track and became their first single to miss the top 20, narrowly peaking at 21. (And if it weren't for Glow In The Dark + the 2021 songs, this would be their lowest peaking song ever). Its a nice mid-tempo electropop ballad but its not their most memorable song. I'm kinda surprised it made the top 10 (I thought it would be this vs. Colours for 10th, with the latter taking it). Into 9th is the other song I'm surprised that made the top 10 as I always thought Show Me Love was more divisive than this! And tbf... looking at the scores it was divisive but led in a more positive direction! The song scored two 11s but a few scores under 5 including a 2! SML was the single released just before their 3rd album came out, and well... America were way past the point of showing them any love and the writing was on the wall x However the song peaked at 8 in the UK, helped by their 3rd and final X-Factor performance. This was the only one of their 2013 songs I liked at the time of release, its a nice ballad and idk there's something about it that I've always found quite anthemic 8th was quite close to 9th, and 7th sees us have a big jump in average

50-46: Possibly my fave section yet! Sweeter Than Fiction :cheeseblock: Ugh its such an underrated masterpiece, we better get a TV (I'm hoping the same as you!). Red/State of Grace are both masterpieces, they should be higher here x (esp the former!) Yeah Midnight Rain wasn't instant for me, but is now easily top 5 from that album for me! 45-41: I'd have these all lower but some underrated tracks here. King Of My Heart sneaks up on me, and every time I hear it I forget just how good it is! Was kinda expecting you to have TIWWCHNT higher! 40-36: I Wish You Would is like 150 places too high x Message In A Bottle also far too high x Clean also too high but ik I'm in the minority on that one x The Man gets so much undeserved hate, its such a bop! And Christmas Tree Farm stanning :cheeseblock: We love to see it! What a fun joyous masterpiece <3 I hope it becomes a classic eventually! The album is out today and I’m really impressed! Home To Another One and Reckless are her best two songs to date (I’m glad the latter is on the album despite how old it is), and Sweet Relief + Ryder have hit me instantly, love both of them
