  2. Ella speeding up Apple Music today, Alibi is now at #9!

Considering it’s dreadful playlist support, I’m happily surprised that Kygo and Ava’s Whatever is doing something on the dance chart! It’s 59 there, I wonder if it can make it into the overall top 200 by the end of the day (the top 32 on dance are in the top 200 atm)

  3. Emma won the Critics Choice award :cheeseblock: Need her to win her 2nd Oscar for this <3

I'm just out the cinema seeing this and omg it's a film I'm going to be thinking about a lot, I feel like it has so much to unpack

Firstly, to no surprise Emma Stone was incredible, what a challenging role she tackled with absolute perfection and ease, her performance alone is worth watching this for.

The conversation between God and Max is probably the most important part of the film because it clearly sets the intentions of both men, the fact these are the good guys focussed on Bella's growth and independence is so key to how her story could have played out.

Love love love the point of the film being her exploring herself and the world and breaking free from any ownership put on her by men,

the pride you genuinely feel for Bella towards the end when she realises what she wants and what makes her happy is exactly the point her story arc had to reach.

I'd seen comments from people online saying it was catering to a demographic it shouldn't have been, that it was creepy etc but people who think that have obviously missed the entire point of the film.

Even with Duncan who essentially wanted a woman he could easily control, it didn't really have anything to do with the fact she had an infants brain (he didn't even know that actually) and more to do with how she was very sheltered, naive and ignorant towards a lot of subjects, he saw that as something he could manipulate but as soon as Bella became her own person and be realised he had no control it was over for him.

At the end I did expect her to put Alfie's brain in God since his whole life was about being seen as this monster and dealing with the affects his dad's abuse had on him so being in another body essentially would have given him a second chance but no they went with the goat brain

So yea thank you guys for recommending I see it!! To anyone else on the fence please make the same decision I did and go watch it. It's a beautifully shot film too, definitely one for the big screen if you're able to catch it at the cinema

Yay I'm so so glad you saw it and loved it! And agree with literally everything you said <3

  4. Babylon and Gran Turismo deserved better x (I hate that I high key stan the latter film but I do oops)

Bottom 15 i agree mostly x I’ve seen like ten of them, my fave of those was The Boogeyman but that would also be bottom half in my ranking! The flash cgi was hideous

90-81 oh no x justice for Anatomy of a December Asteroid Fall in the Dial of Feelings Destiny x

    Hey Sam!

Murder on the dancefloor hitting #1. Amazing.

You're losing me is beautiful. Glad to see it still doing well. It really is one of my most favourite Taylor songs now.

Guilty conacygeyting a new peak is deserved definitely. A bop!

Now that we don't talk has put up a great fight on my chart. Such a bop! The vault tracks from 1989 are sublime honestly.

Messier is great and remains my favourite from the album I think. I'd like to see this become a single.

Say don't go climbing  I wouldn't mind seeing this climb into your top 20 or top 10 again.

    Fab chart ^_^

Thanks James <3 Yeah I absolutely adore YLM, top-tier Midnights! And agreed about the 1989 vault tracks, all bar Suburban Legends are essential for me! There's so many songs on TL I'd love to see become a single, I think HMF is the one for me tho as a single choice! Say Don't Go has definitely peaked here, probs a steady fall from here on!

    Hey Sam,

Nice climbs for the Taylor songs

Can't Catch Me Now climbing!! It's a bop :yahoo:

    That Top3 :w00t:

Thanks Seltin and glad to see you loving those movements <3

    Hi There!

Nice to See the classic "Murder On The Dancefloor" at the top, "Run For The Hills" in the top 10, the big gains for "Hurt My Feelings" and "Stick Season" and "Yoko" reaching the top 40.

    Great chart!

    Take Care.

Thanks Sergej and glad to see u stanning so many fab songs <3

  9. Jonny 😭 easily one of my faves in there! Mollie is probs the only other faithful I’m really liking atp.

Ik it’s easier as viewers as we know who the traitors are, but I’m side-eye-ing so many of them for not working out it’s Paul. The fact he didn’t go over Meg, who would’ve 100% been banished and such a pointless kill, should be enough to make it obvious but only about three of them seem to have any wits about that! (Not seen tonight’s episode so hopefully more will finally clock on)

  11. Film of the year :cheeseblock: Emma serving the best performance of the decade so far :cheeseblock: The actress of our generation :cheeseblock:

I'm considering going to see this over the weekend as Emma Stone is one of those never fails actresses for me and I've heard she's particularly great in this but I am on the fence as I've seen a lot of mixed reviews. I've not read the book but the premise of it sounds really interesting although I didn't get much from the trailer really. I've also heard it's a bit messed up though but in a genuine cause for concern kinda way just with how she has an infants brain but there's a big focus on sex etc?? I've seen people review it saying they were very uncomfortable watching it but then maybe that's the point, it would depend on the context and how it's been executed really as I can definitely understand how there's a fine line there.

ANYWAY has anyone managed to see this yet? Is it worth going to see at the cinema??

I'd def say it's worth seeing at the cinema, the film is gorgeous and there's quite a few funny moments that are great with an audience! For myself I had zero concerns about the plot in this film as I think it executes what could be a cause-for-concern plot in someone else's hands in a very respectful way. There a lot of sex scenes but imo they don't feel gratuitous and work with the story/character development

  12. Looking that how well “Unwritten” is doing, I have to wonder if Poketful Of Sunshine would have been a big hit if Tik Tok had been about when Easy A came out

Yeah I have been thinking about this too! I definitely think Pocketful of Sunshine would've been big on TikTok/Spotify if Easy A had come out today, hopefully one day that song will get its justice!

Also interestingly, 'Unwritten' is getting a boost from 'Anyone But You' which is directed by Will Gluck, who also directed 'Easy A'! The guy knows how to use a Natasha song to great effect in his movies *.*

  13. Sabrina moved up to 5 and Sophie moved up to 10 on Apple Music’s Today Hits! ❤️ (And those positions are including the eventual Ari add, as she’s greyed out as track 1 currently!) - Ella/Rudimental added as track 22, Lil Nas X track 24, and Marshmello/Venbee track 30
  14. A really really strong year for non-top 10, top 20 hits!

-2 Skrillex, Fred Again.. & Flowdan - Rumble

  15. 140. Kenya Grace - Strangers - #14

    Sales: 750,800

    Chart-Run: [73-79-53-24-17-14-19-41-42-48-61-73-90] (13wks)

Kicking off this section is a huge chart hit and breakthrough for Kenya, this was instantly catchy and I thought about sending it to BJSC when I heard it on NMF, but obvs it took off way too quickly! Just a great dance-pop tune, it missed the top 10 here but had a solid top 100 run!

    139. Rob Grant ft. Lana Del Rey - Lost At Sea - #07

    Sales: 756,400

    Chart-Run: [7-7-12-23-26-103-57-55-60-68-80-99] (12wks)

The first of the two Lana + her dad tracks to appear here, both far surpassed my expectations and just showed how much magic Lana can bring to anything! This unsurprisingly debuted high but held up way better than I expected it to, even managing two weeks top 10! A beautiful little song with gorgeous gentle vocals, melody and piano.

    138. Leony - Holding On - #10

    Sales: 761,000

    Chart-Run: [14-10-12-20-28-43-43-55-64-68-72-85-94] (13wks)

Leony continues to SERVE absolute bops, honestly deserves MPG status (or at least Ava Max levels of pop queen success). Holding On was one of my instant faves from her albums, its got that catchy 2000s pop feel to it and the dance beat over it works really well! An underrated bop. (and get into Remedy which was v. high up for me in 2022!)

    137. Taylor Swift - Eyes Open (Taylor's Version) - #02

    Sales: 763,100

    Chart-Run: [2-10-20-30-40-50-78-81-90-100] (10wks)

This has never been my fave Taylor track but it hit a lot more with TV to the point that I now love it, its so atmospheric and I love this rockier side that Taylor serves here. It nearly went all the way to the top, but as always it was blocked by the far superior The Hunger Games soundtrack song, which has always overshadowed it x Still another great moment and a song where the TV is an improvement over the original! Also this loved hitting positions ending in 0 in its chart-run, hitting seven of them within its 10 week run!

    136. Sabrina Carpenter - Feather - #08

    Sales: 766,100

    Chart-Run: [24-49-55-64-57-58-83-87-91-x(x27)-37-43-63-87-8] (14wks)

A song that will be A LOT higher next year, already reaching a new peak of #2 in 2024 so far! I really loved this as an album track, an instant bop, but bad timing of release meant I never returned to it as much as I wanted to! So thankfully the music video gave me the chance to give this the attention it deserved (and what an ICONIC video, a church carpenter indeed! So many iconic shots, potential best video of 2023 x). This fully clicked with me and is probs top 5 Sabrina songs for me atm so glad to see it smashing irl too! Just an absolute perfect 00s vibes pop BOP.

(also fun this + Eyes Open entered the charts in the same week + Holding On week after!)

    135. (143) Rihanna - Lift Me Up - #03

    Sales: 768,800

    Chart-Run: [...-19-20-3-14-32-37-46-53-60-66-43-74-90-96] (14wks)

Onto a holdover now, which actually reached a new peak in 2023 (I thought it was due to the Oscar performance but dates don't work out at all, must've been just cos of how competitive late 2022 was with Midnights/Xmas songs!). Not my fave RiRi song but its a gorgeous ballad (and tbh ballad RiRi>>'modern' RiRi) and it packs a punch.

    134. Jorja Smith - Little Things - #29

    Sales: 772,900

    Chart-Run: [53-49-47-50-40-47-50-127-77-74-82-83-92-x(x7)-29-92] (15wks)

A huge BOP and probs the best thing Jorja has done to-date! This had a long chart-run but struggled to get a great peak due to tough competition! Still such a bop (original version only, so much better than that mash-up) that reached a new peak on album release, its so catchy and great vibes <3

    133. Freya Ridings - Rise - #08

    Sales: 766,300

    Chart-Run: [8-58-28-25-29-36-43-53-55-55-72-98-x(x13)-22] (12wks)

After serving one of the albums of the year, Freya had this absolute ANTHEM of a bop come out for the soundtrack of that Ruby Gilman Teenage Kraken dreamworks movie! Rise is so anthemic and would be top-half on 'Blood Orange', such a fun melody and I love Freya's vocals on this track. Its a shame this song went so under the radar! And the fab live version allowed this to re-enter quite high at the end of the year!

    132. Maisie Peters - Two Weeks Ago - #10

    Sales: 779,700

    Chart-Run: [12-10-25-31-20-34-107-58-57-61-67-79-95] (13wks)

More Maisie now! (tho I do prefer the two album tracks in the previous section, this one had the advantage of being a pre-album release!). Two Weeks Ago is a lovely little ballad, its very simple but it packs a punch and its another gorgeous song in Maisie's discography <3 Beautiful lyrics too

    131. Paramore - Big Man, Little Dignity - #21

    Sales: 780,300

    Chart-Run: [21-25-31-36-48-46-51-53-55-72-68-73-76-78-84-99] (16wks)

And another album track to finish us off! BMLD very quickly became my album track highlight of Paramore's latest album, Hayley absolutely slayed on the lyrics & vocals, the production is great and I love the simmering rage throughout the track!! Up there with my fave Paramore tracks, such a fab tune <3

  16. and I oop xxx

    anyway...!

    06. Gold Forever - 8.35 (H: 11 - Roba, 10 - LMFan, Pensmith, Jay, _____/\____, Jason / L: 5 - Neil2407, 3 - Jessie Where)

used to hate this but it hit way harder in the past year and is actually quite beautiful x

    05. Lightning - 8.47 (H: 10 - LMFan, Me, Cody, ____/\____ / L: 6 - Pensmith - this one had pretty consistent scores!)

Their best song, what a perfect pop bop, just pure euphoria and builds so well, insanely catchy well-crafted, a smash x

    04. Chasing The Sun - 8.85 (H: 11 - Cody,ElectroBoy, 10 - Nina West, Neill2407, Monzo, Jay / L: 3 - RyanFM)

Another bop, this was one of their biggest hits and probs their final huge smash! Ice Age 4 forever x

    03. Lose My Mind - 8.97 (H: 11 - Pippa, Jessie Where, 10 - Electro Boy, LMFan, Pensmith, Mango / L: 5 - RyanFM + I was the 2nd lowest scorer oops)

Shocked how high up this finished here, thought it'd be like 5th at best! It's good but not an essential for me!

And onto the obvs top two...

    02. All Time Low - 9.26 (H: 10 - Nina West, Monzo, Me, Jayy, ___'\__, Jason / L: two 8s - no 11s surprisingly but also all scores bar two were 9+!)

Robbed of the win x (even tho I love GYC) - again perfect example of a euphoric pop anthem that builds and builds to that final moment *.* So catchy and its easy to see why this was their breakthrough smash <3

    01. Glad You Came - 9.53 (H: 11 - Nina West, Pensmith, Jay, Jason, 10 - Jessie Where, Me, ___'\___, Cody / L: 7 - RyanFM)

And their biggest smash by miles unsurprisingly also takes the victory! This is a perfect example from the fun early 2010s pop era and is such a great throwback tune, still hasn't got old <3

we're done! and ik u were all waiting patiently for this :kink:

  17. 'Unicorn' was my favourite track in Eurovision this year. Noa provided some real excitement with her performance but I haven't gone back to the track for quite a while.

'Vigilante Shit' and 'Suburban Legends' have been my favourite Taylor tracks from the last few secions.

I'm especially loving the entries for Maisie Peters. She's definitely been my favourite artist over the past year or so.

    Thanks Lewis <3 <3

Yeah Unicorn was up there for me too! It was my fave on the night but think I slightly preferred 2 other songs, my top 4 were all very close this year! Yeah her performance was fab but same I barely listened to it for most the year until it popped up on my Spotify wrapped! Glad to see the Taylor and Maisie love and yasss to a fellow Maisie stan, she has been serving this year *.*

  18. 150. Becky Hill ft. Lewis Thompson - Side Effects - #14

    Sales: 713,800

    Chart-Run: [14-15-17-23-28-34-52-56-140-85-85-93] (12wks)

Becky scored another solid top 20 hit that failed to go top 10 this year with Side Effects, another dance banger! I actually slightly prefer this one to 'Disconnect' and it deserved to be a bigger hit, a bop!

    149. Ellie Goulding - Tastes Like You - #13

    Sales: 719,900

    Chart-Run: [13-21-24-36-31-40-45-54-61-73-79-99-97] (13wks)

I think this was a deluxe track, and who knows why considering it is way better than literally the rest of the album!!! Ellie's best in ages and I think this would've been one of my fave hits of the year if it came out a few years ago. Just so euphoric, its reminds me of a poppier more up-tempo 'Still Falling For You'.

    148. Renee Rapp - Messy - #01

    Sales: 720,300

    Chart-Run: [2-1-6-23-53-16] (6wks)

One of the most recent #1's and the first of many Renee songs in this rundown! Messy was my instant fave of the deluxe tracks from Snow Angel, another MAJOR bop and (iirc) another Ryan Tedder written or produced bop from this year. Its so so good, I love it lyrically and Renee is a star, a feel good MESSY anthem.

    147. Taylor Swift ft. Fall Out Boy - Electric Touch - #11

    Sales: 726,900

    Chart-Run: [24-11-17-23-38-49-58-66-68-87] (10wks)

Instantly thought this would be my least fave of the Speak Now TV tracks when announced due to that horrible feature, but this was surprisingly such a major bop and Foolish One exists x This was a great 2010-ish pop-rock bop and even the FOB feature worked, that chorus is so fun and rock-n-roll, I really love it <3 Got v. unlucky to just miss a top 10 peak here!

    146. Maisie Peters - Therapy - #15

    Sales: 727,300

    Chart-Run: [15-19-87-45-42-43-44-52-60-60-56-69-96] (13wks)

Another album track, this time from Maisie Peters! Therapy was another instant favourite and held on very well for an album track! Just a great pop tune, catchy production, fun lyrics & a great vocal. One of my faves from Maisie and such an underrated one <3

    145. Kelsea Ballerini - Mountain With A View - #10

    Sales: 733,000

    Chart-Run: [66-18-10-18-23-33-50-48-53-56-59-79-82-89] (14wks)

The album tracks continue! MWAV was a great intro to Kelsea's EP, introducing the themes that Kelsea is gonna tackle so good and the melody is beautiful, with many poignant and hard-hitting lyrics. It really set the tone for the EP successfully and its another mellow country triumph from Kelsea.

    144. Maisie Peters - Coming of Age - #13

    Sales: 734,400

    Chart-Run: [13-18-86-50-46-51-43-48-57-61-57-71-97] (11wks)

ANOTHER album track, this time from Maisie again! And I'm not surprised this basically ends up next to Therapy as both had pretty much identical chart-runs where they were always only a few places apart from each other! This was a great start to Maisie's album (after the extended intro), it took a few days to fully hit me but once it did I became obsessed and it was one of the highest charting album tracks on release! Just more fun bouncy euphoric pop.

    143. Freya Ridings - Can I Jump? - #08

    Sales: 744,400

    Chart-Run: [25-22-22-29-30-8-13-30-42-52-63-87] (12wks)

And let's continue with the album tracks!! Tho this one was at least a promo-single. Freya finally returned this year and Can I Jump was a fun positive anthem. Its not my fave from the album (I lowkey prefer album tracks like 'Bite Me' and 'Blood Orange' which missed my top 250), but its still another great uptempo moment from Freya!

    142. Lauren Spencer Smith ft. GAYLE & Em Beihold - Fantasy - #05

    Sales: 745,500

    Chart-Run: [5-7-22-22-34-41-48-54-65-71-98-98] (12wks)

Three of my fave recent basically one-hit wonder flops teaming up x This was always going to be a hit here! Fantasy is a great collaboration and allows all three of them to shine, they all delivered *.* Its nothing groundbreaking but this deserved better, and all three artists deserve more chart success than they get! A cute early year hit for me x

    141. Rita Ora - You Only Love Me - #04

    Sales: 747,600

    Chart-Run: [4-9-10-20-28-34-44-53-68-74-81-84-90] (13wks)

And Rita finally released her next album with this serving at its lead single. It was typical good fun Rita, a nice bop with a drop sounding straight out of 2016. I did enjoy bopping and listening to this, but it was such an obvs flop as a lead single - should've been Praising You (which idk how that bombed as badly as it did) or Waiting For You (which won't show up here but I rly love and is a summer anthem). Still another solid song to add to Rita's discography x
