No No No...in comparision thats like rammstein meeting nin...
  2. and Femi Kuti rates them as well!!!
  3. I am just happy I got to see them live before everything went so awfully wrong. I loved both albums even the second, critically-panned one. on one hand its sad but on the other you kinda cynically think - in regards to the success of the second album and coming so soon after Dirty Pretty Things - that maybe they would have split up anyway and the illness even tho tragic - is a damn good excuse for a split.... http://leafandlime.hobix.com/pic/edc.jpg btw just have to say ...Hooray for Edwyn Collins :cheer: :yahoo: :cheer:
  4. Ladyhawke in the pop section? so some records must have been sold then

and actually you could say thats also why P!nk was number one as few weeks ago - as it was sold not only on the song (tbh just another P!nk song and also could be seen as yet another Max Martin variation on kelly clarkson's Since U Been Gone) but also on a kinda safe packaged punk rebellion image that trades on that alternativeness but not really even tho it had my dad complaining that the video could be a bad influnce on people Max Martin is Swedish....and tbh it could be seen that so what is just essentially roxette with added spunk. http://stoyanoff.net/Images/roxette10.jpg

and i guess would have made neighbours more intersting if harold bishop turned up like that on a recurring outings

yeah thats made me smile...tho i dont know if it becomes even more ridiculous if you listen to it with sound on (my dad's around with the tv on now and dont know where the headphones are)...yeah what a pretentious bunch of dildos....and on a theme not too million miles away were Warren Cuccurullo's missing persons videos from the 1980s as bad? i'm guessing they would be dumb for extra mtv maximum exposure (not to be confused with Cuccurullo's c**k out expose or tmf's late night porno reality strand when it comes to maximum exposures) i wouldn't they are that great videos...yeah the bowie dvd has some great songs on it...but tbh think most would work as well with old totp stock than thinking about the video in its creative enterty...

wow - that's nice! you remember Minty - the Angela Kelly show (and obv not Leigh Bowery - that would have been a very f***ed up kids tv show  )... used to love watching that show...it was almost proto-montana/cyrus in it's set up...but i guess if you watched it now and compared it to montana/cyrus it would be like comparing prisoner (cell block h) to the sopranos... btw when it came to byker grove...point break may have not have been as good as ant & dec...but thought Freaky Time was great...pity most of them freefalled into oblivion after that... 2lL0m0qMtKg Point Break - Freaky Time http://www.bigshinything.com/wp-photos/807120625.jpeg http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcfour/documentaries/images/leigh_bowery2_lead.jpg that's nice!!!!

Black Lace were on TV the other day...on one of those list shows - i couldn't stop laughing at them - great!! and also may have been the true originators of that limihl/lesbian lady haircut circa 2003 style

well i suppose everyone was buying Bush's Razorblade Suitcase at the time http://www.virginmedia.com/images/lowe-chung-dkprem-gal-300.jpg Institute!!! Blue Mercedes!!! Suddenly the boomtown rats has become not that embarrassing yeah totally agree with both - even tho Imbruglia's fantastic - have to say that record of the year may have to be Music Sounds Better With You....
  11. P8-xDzOecHQ yeah - tho the singer ended up in the Brand New Heavies for a bit (via Paul Weller's albums) and yeah they were a bit bland in parts - which is the point that the reviewer of the recent ffrr gold, silver platnum box set brought up as well....and here is the artful dodger remix of the BNH version of Apparently Nothing - and you think how bad remixes of this sort sound these days...(even with tv advertised best of bassline albums coming no doubt this 4x4xMas  ) ....when Artful Dodger was in the chart used to think that they were really good...have got an Artful Dodger album but think i may pass over it for something from the 1980s  2QYafXpDEug The Brand New Heavies - Apparently Nothing (Artful Dodger Mix) but here is something better... z4_9PZ-_EAA Coldcut - Autumn Leaves

well i suppose the ones that have been mentioned are the most obv for rock, pop and dance...tho i guess if somebody came up who was really really knowledable about their jazz and blues..then they could go on for ages...tho even tho i like this stuff i would say in comparison to something like Aqua only a novice... however he's some good stuff.... 5T3FXFnoTzE NINA SIMONE- "DON'T LET ME BE MISUNDERSTOOD" (1964) mR81PGlBeqE SCREAMIN' JAY HAWKINS - I Put A Spell On You h3yd-c91ww8 Black Snake Moan - Blind Lemon Jefferson Iq0XJCJ1Srw Nat "King" Cole - Nature Boy IY17gMP5QvI Nat "King" Cole - Autumn leaves
  13. at this point Alexa Chung would like to say how very very cool she is and how very she very much likes indie bands...like the horrors, Klaxons, Lostprophets, Arctic Monkeys and esp, ones that sound like the Rolling Stones... http://img.thesun.co.uk/multimedia/archive/00461/Alexa-Chung_280_461381a.jpg aSfcDL_mcrY Blue Mercedes - Nixon - Sweet Temptation so that'll be Blue Mercedes then Alexa, won't it Ms Chung?  DNLFx5C3wyE Blue Mercedes - That Beauty Is You... http://earbuds.popdose.com/will/BlueMercedes/BlueMercedes1.jpg btw Nick Grinshaw is looking at this cover at this moment and thinking those funk ass shorts look mighty damn fine!!! on the other hand maybe another thread could be started - one called $h!t Pop Star - great photographer...then we could have David Titlow and Bryan Adams in the same thread... KNE3et9vs00 Chicane " Don't give up " Ft Bryan Adams however i'm sure that both chicane and Bryan Adams may fall under the $h!t artist, good track banner - tho most might think are just both $h!t... however i guess other Nick Bracegirdle projects may get a better reaction....
  14. NOT RETRO and not $h!t...their covers would go in great artist c**p tracks tho...and while we're talkig about girls aloud and retro i think a play of Nazareth is in order.... 99b9WyG8WRU Nazareth - "Hair Of The Dog"
  15. ..but at least The Laughing Gnome is so rubbish with puns so bad is it essential and hillarious....esp compared to some of the c**p you could end up with on the best of bowie dvd from the mid 1980s.... btw think Tears For Fears and Duran Duran may fall into a $h!t artist good track feature...along with boy george
  16. this reminds me that i should have brought up this point the other day when i was having a beer with some of my mates...was talking to me mates girlfriend and she's like ms alternative...liking all the usual suspects when it comes to retro music (who, kinks etc etc) because she cant do with people who are not original - tho a big big fan of radiohead who are like so original and such innovators that she cant deal with anybody who might be seen as radiohead-lite from the last few years... yeah i read a few months ago in something like the word that in like the early britpop era everybody hated radiohead for being like soo american and grunge-lite and like wannabe seattle types that it was only till they had a massive massive hit on the us alt-rock and billboard charts - than anyone in the uk not into the now passe grunge scene took much notice.... so that quite ironic tho tbh she would have only been 7 when creep came out  yeah thats bad but even worse is open your heart...i tried to play dare the other day but couldn't get past that song - i guess it has the same effect as a dog whistle to a dog - high piercing noise of c**p synths.... :puke2:

Its good but I dont think its anywhere near their best offering. I liked them for being cheesy and revelling in it. My favs are still Cartoon Heroes, Around The World, My Oh My and Doctor Jones :D at least someone gets the idea - Aqua were fun! Aqua (at least when they first came out) were brilliant and Barbie Girl (unlike Sugababes Girls) still sounds great after soooo many repeated plays - even though the basic production sans vocals may have been heavily influenced by the Todd Terry remix of EBTG's Missing...a record which may have also been a fave of Frank Farian as you can see the influence heavily in his No Mercy project....while Aqua may have been ripped off wholesale by ToyBox and Daze but to close to call... uADgHFntj4I No Mercy - Please Don't Go Yt-KMPvgKPo No Mercy - Where Do You Go WY8kxbaIDmg Daze - Tamagochi dswjG_rTBEM Everything But The Girl - Missing (original) 1zfXaMCJUso Everything But The Girl - Missing Todd Terry Mix KcJAlGByg98 Everything But The Girl - Rollercoaster and seeing that Missing works well in mixed and unmixed version i think barbie girl would be intersting if it was re-recorded in a style more similar to ebtg's rollercoaster - i think it would work very well - and would bring out the great melody thats burried under the great dollop of cheese! However in comparision Daze and Toybox were not as good as Aqua...tho liked the Cartoons who should have got to number 1 in the UK with which doctor NOT AS GOOD AS AQUA 9kld18pWQdI Witch Doctor - Alvin & The Chipmunks (why try to make it sound like the new Michael Jackson single?!?!?! i hope Ross Bagdasarian Snr is turning in his grave of what they've done to his creations!!!!) mYdk89hMyss Tarzan and Jane - Toybox zs8UcjLJHx8 Daze - Superhero AS GOOD OR BETTER THAN AQUA EevTBq01QYY David Seville - Witch Doctor TPIjX53JRaE Cartoons - Aisy Waisy BtwSxi9BGIU :cheer:  :cheer: :yahoo: Whigfield - Think Of You :cheer:  :cheer: :yahoo: (must better than Saturday Night imo) 9L9QLoQYHmU Everything But The Girl - Wrong (tho Single is probs their best record ever)
  18. well maybe thats because it was posted by me..still convinced there's some very petty petty people around here still holding personal vendettas when it should only be about the music....but at least its picked up since Music Master posted some clips
  19. tho maybe with the bankrupcy and demise of Tartan - the pages of DVD montly will be filled up with other stuff now (tho if turns out to be all Jason Statham dtv spin-offs that dont feature Jason Statham might not be a good thing  ) and Hole in the Wall should have been done like Takeshi's Castle...with original footage and comic voice over

but you dont compare it with NCFOM - its like if you were a member of a metal band and you had a side-project doing olde worlde bohemian folke...its still you but not the same kinda vibe...
  22. tigerboy posted a post in a topic in Television
but comparing it to HSM this looks very amature and shoddy...

well its Black History Month... and so what are the Best music artists in Black History...(well apart from Prince and M Jackson...who would probs be mentioned within the first few posts anyway  and like so obv...true???)
  24. but for some of the records thats a good thing
  25. then again seeing as the four tops will be on tour for about the next 50 years this is a good thing (tho obv there is only one original top left with various ex-temps and the like making up the number...its like Menudo but on a grander scale)
