the best from that lot so far (even tho its still slightly overlong)
  2. yeah this is good - tho Frank Turner is like David Ford from Easyworld to me...one of those acts that you like some times get pushed to the side for other stuff until you see there stuff for a few £££ in the borders sale
  3. yeah but it should be all over the radio...esp if its instead of an irretating scouting for girls record
  4. thats a pity as if it was by the Last Shadow Puppets it would go top ten....i think its a strong tune and should do better than her last single - great late 60s Love/spaghetti western type of vibe (always a good thing)
  5. they seem to be a big cult band on teletext...had loads of people going on about them in their fogotten stars thread... i heard it once last year on an MP3 blog....havent come across it since and can really discuss it...
  6. yeah some of it is truely shocking..dont think shifty stuff was as bad as this can be - bring back crazy town
  7. would nickelback sound better if the Pearl & Dean screen titles theme 'Asteroid' was played over the top  IrcbHQXwlk4 Goldbug - Whole Lotta Love

however i think an really really really important part was missed out on the history of Cameron "Booga Bear" McVey (tho in cirKus he is calling himself 'burt ford')...and yeah its not about somebody in fashion..or a fashion trendsetter (so not Alexa Chung then!!!!)..or remotely fashionable... well not in these parts....obv  can you see who it is yet.... "Morgan-McVey From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (Redirected from Morgan McVey) Jump to: navigation, search Morgan Mcvey were a mid-1980s pop duo with a background in fashion photography, video direction and modeling, composed on Jamie Morgan and Cameron McVey. Jamie Morgan has been highly influential as part of Buffalo, a styling team whose streetwise look was typical in the style mags of the time. The group released a single, "Looking Good Diving," through Sony Records in 1986, produced by Stock Aitken Waterman and mixed by Phil Harding. The B side, called "Looking Good Diving (with the Wild Bunch)" featuring Neneh Cherry, was a tribute to the buffalo stance. The B side was rerecorded 2 years later by Neneh Cherry as "Buffalo Stance" and it went to #3 in the UK Charts and the Top 10 around the world in 1988. Jamie J. Morgan also released a single through Sony, a cover of the Lou Reed classic "Walk on the Wild Side," which peaked on the Australia Charts at #23 in April 1990"

was watching some old chansons this morning - including Charles Aznavour's She...and then brought up the Vegas version of She..much better than Elvis Costello's reading which should be avoided at all cost...and even tho the Vegas video is ruined by the introduction of Dave Stewart from the Eurythmics...it a good video and one which you could shed a tear to if you were feeling emotional... FaJBDyXM3TE Terry Hall - She promo (Vegas) however could put the specials up against some moaning Annie Lennox touture...as some people seem to like her output...maybe even No More I Love You's :puke2:
  11. its actually on there..this is hmv's track listing (think the one above came from amazon or cd-wow) and so you do get Walking On The Milky Way on the album but not Stand Above Me....which is a bit tragic seeing as they've put a lot of $h!tty stuff from the mid 1980s when they've decided to stop being kraftwerk and wanted to be to be (fellow four piece one member duo) tears for fears instead (and even tho Walking On The Milky Way is much better than the god awful Closest Thing to Heaven...working with Emiliana Torrini is better than Atomic Kitten  ) vnw2KLSrAHA OMD - Stand Above Me PjQwJZN4Rfo Tears For Fears: Closest Thing to Heaven disc 1 1. but seeing as people are now talking about Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazlewood...think we can sidestep that one altogether....yeah Summer Wine is great...tho i havent got the original (got to have a look at the rhino website to see how much the Hazlewood best of is....or hope it turns up in the random £3 or less selection)...but have got the Ville Valo / Natalia Avelon version of Summer Wine...which i think is a good version as well as its very much like the original isnt it.... EOs2TSXTOkQ Ville Valo / Natalia Avelon version and back talking about Nancy Sinatra...i think - as much as a fan of pulp as i am - have to say Nancy Sinatra's reading of Don't Let Him Waste Your Time has to be viewed as the definitive version...as it is much much better!!! lets just hope that Jessica Simpson just stays well away from that one  PViDnXZdZBk Nancy Sinatra - Don't Let Him Waste Your Time c1oMtwmTaNQ Jarvis - Dont Let Him Waste Your Time bonus video time - that might come into the conversation at this point: PEQZWlxEUbU Sandie Shaw - Please help the cause against lonliness fmugzUxSdj0 Sandie Shaw - Hand In Glove
  15. SAAAM7V-bbQ yeah its actually alright...and you probably wouldnt turn it off it came on your Ultra Best Ever Balearic House Chill Out Classics Album vol552 (tho something like fellow Ultra Best Ever Balearic House Chill Out Album classic La Passionara - below - i think is better in that kinda vibe)....however cannot compensate for all the terrible trash made that he has also been associated with - see guide at bottom of quote - which is a zillion times worse than anything that Pete Waterman's ever come up with... ZDWcE9LfsdI The Blow Monkeys - La Passionara 'I Specialise In Loneliness' would be good if it could be covered by Billie Ray Martin in a style like this below... jI5fhIu3lWQ Hell feat. Technique is a totally brilliant album..... Lowlife is great (Subculture's my fave NO single)..... but after Republic (ok in parts... Ruined In A Day, Spooky and Regret were excellent singles)...they should've called it a day... Sirens Call and Get Ready were truly abysmal. New Order albums were always worth getting for the gorgeous packaging alone, I reckon..... every single one of their album covers has been a masterpiece. yeah Peter Saville is a great designer..(have you got the Factory design book btw?)... tho i guess it could be said that he could have easily used the sleeve for Movement for OMD by just turning the artwrk around a bit  http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/8/84/New_Order_Movement_Cover.jpg (btw New Order's Movement is a recommended re-issue release in this month's artrocker alongside OMD's greatest hits - the mag is the one with those dancing days looking extra swedish this month  )
  17. But stations are so scared of losing their audience reach they will play all the big hitters agin and again - all the ones that have been market r esearched to death and get good scores in audience research tests...not about music really about advertising to these people..music dont matter
  18. though it came out physical in like a 'box set' - tho not actually a box

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/9/98/Taken-poster-0.jpg What did everyone think of Taken? - directed by Pierre Morel, written by Luc Besson With Liam Neeson, Maggie Grace and Xander Berkeley - yeah George Mason from 24's CTU...and talking of 24 seeing as star Kiefer Sutherland in fellow French directing sensation Alexandre Aja's Mirrors (out soon and not supposed to be that great) maybe you would like to talk about that as well in here..a general talk about French directing wonderkids and whether their latest films are up to the very high standard they have set at the beginning of their careers (i'm thinking maybe Sutherland would have been better in the Neeson role with it reformulated as 24 in France - the movie)

What do you think of the New look Music Week mag and site?
  21. and in in other (associated) news teletext say.... "Frazier Chorus have reissued their 1989 debut album Sue on Cherry Red. It adds B-sides from the era, two 12" mixes and new sleevenotes by singer Tim Freeman". i'm not surprised that this would be a news item on teletext as people have been going on about for most of the last few months on their latters page...
  22. Below is the track listing for the DVD part of the OMD sight & sound Greatest Hits best of Messages... Please rate these OMD singles on the patented Clancykatona scale from 1 to 100...100 being for the most awesome record they ever did - the kind you wouldn't feel ashamed playing to the most sexy supermodel (or Molly Ringwold if you prefer) that you happened to meet at the local Otara Millionaires Club even though secretly you know that OMD could be seen at best as some kind of 'Primark Joy Division'.... but still a high score means that these are records that not even Sugababes could ruin if they half-heartidly adapted them in a couldnt be arsed current single type of way (though i will not mention the scooter album at this point ) on the other hand a score of 1 means its the most bankrupt load of bargain bucket bejam bollocks you ever did hear - and i guess a lot from the mid 1980s might fall here.... Electricity Red Frame/White Light* Messages Enola Gay Souvenir Joan Of Arc (Live Top Of The Pops Version) Maid Of Orleans Genetic Engineering Telegraph Locomotion Talking Loud And Clear Tesla Girls Never Turn Away* So In Love Secret La Femme Accident* Hold You* If You Leave (Forever) Live And Die We Love You* Shame* Dreaming Sailing On The Seven Seas Pandora's Box Then You Turn Away* Call My Name* Stand Above Me* Dream Of Me (Based On 'Love's Theme') Everyday* (please note: *not on album plus also the album doesnt feature any SASH! remixes)
