  2. well if its just half as good as the first one...that would be still a great recommendation...pity that it will be ignored by most and that the KOL album will be like one of the biggest sellers and this will sell about 567 copies...
  3. Got albums by both of them...I like Glasvegas better even tho the album is not as good as all the hype has it be (tho maybe the proclaimers singing barry manilow might be to someone tastes   ) and the Kings of Leon seem to be just a neutered black crowes tribute band  ...there alright viewed at a level of a '2 albums for £5' type of act but dont convince me with all the hype around them at the moment... was discussing this with my mates the other night...how did they become so big...
  4. yeah that sounds like a good tour...got a few songs of theres...yeah good band tho not seen them live as of yet
  5. Dont know... if its getting airplay then that alright and at least its better than the last single which was one of the worst things she's done
  6. damn my dyslexia!!! misread it for a moment as something much more intersting  RfH5EeoOMXI I Can Only Disappoint You tj7aNPWbvgo Wide Open Space -8MPDK0gW9w She Makes My Nose Bleed
  7. oh and that reminds me that i wanted to watch The Name of the Rose, the film of the novel by Umberto Eco (tho like to say 'Nice one Pete' - you've made yourself look a bigger t*** than nick grimshaw!!!)
  8. on the void/letters pages...look who turns up again.... "After the mention of Frazier Chorus in great lost bands, I notice their great album Sue has been reissued with B-sides and such. This is great news". by Rod Barton (who then goes on to mention the fatima mansion...) ....and no mention of "former Creation records band Technique" either   on the other hand here s some mansun: RfH5EeoOMXI I Can Only Disappoint You tj7aNPWbvgo Wide Open Space -8MPDK0gW9w She Makes My Nose Bleed

but imo that just makes Marc Almond seen totally pointless..as you cant beat those originals...and also i see you've missed one of the best floor-stompers of all time... _hVDQmt4XWY Frankie Valli - The Night on the other hand...here is a marc almond cover...by Katarina Kovac (listen to this its very lovely and much better than the original!!!) Jg_1gw07p60 4F59yKd3TRk and i hope nobody here watched the pee wee herman film on film4  ...here is something from the fabulous Pierre et Gilles...which may or may not go down with all the texas cowboys..unless they're on brokeback mountain at the time   j_5QrgFTl1o Marc Almond - A Lover Spurned. however probs the best soft cell record is... w7CD_hMXmQo Soft Cell - Torch and the other hand.... 11. there was a maillion video on power ballads weekend the other day...obv marillion invented themselves as they were pissed off with peter gaberial not being in genesis...as obv he was hired as he is a bit of a gabriel sound-a-like...tho i then thought maybe genesis tried to replaced phil collins with fish but accidentaly hired his lookilike from stiltskin instead... btw the best instant of band changing their lead singer imo was Shane Fenton with the Fentones...who replaced Shane Fenton with alvin stardust.... ...under the same name however as people might have come to this threaD from the stiff records thread...i wouldnt want them to vomit too much at the thought of alvin stardust...so here is something quite brilliant by Adam F & Redman instead :cheer: :yahoo: :cheer: Pj5BNgd6F_I Adam F & Redman - Smash Sumthin
  12. the singer cant sing, cant play guitar, bloke playing basic drums...isnt that 95% of all punk bands in existance in 1977 ...but then again i suppose you really love old whistle test prog-rock with their overly technical brilliant solos...when band could actually play their equipment and then some....or your never-ending touring american jamband.... maybe not the best to have used Thomas Tantrum as a comparision there as i guess if you'd played this below to most people in the pop section they would have probs just thought this is like a more tuneless version of the ting tings... 13. Well i suppose it could have been worse - you could have gone down the Hepburn route to Johnny hates jazz...and the best of Colin Campsie!!!! 9p97zsQ51Rw Hepburn - I Quit p0Kn8t8ukp8 johnny hates jazz-let me change your mind :puke2: Lbj2sWtiquQ Giant Steps - Another Lover (isnt this the worst thing you've seen all day tho i bet Darren Hayes has studdied this vomit awful video so much..that his copy is warped now and he hasnt got anything to make love to!!!) http://www.smh.com.au/ffximage/2007/08/21/hayes22807_narrowweb__300x449,0.jpg Mr Campsie not pictured above - tho Darren Hayes might be stuck in the 1980s at this moment now)

Edward Ball - isnt he from the Television Personalities...they're supposed to be a good cult band..i recently got a few of their singles in a big batch of Domino promos also including Cass McCombs, some more wild beasts singles :cheer: ..which is always a good thing...tho the best of there's still has to be... PgfX8BZfHhc Wild Beasts - 'Assembly' :cheer: :yahoo: :cheer:  and guess where this is gonna take me......yes thats right...not to Orange Juice or Sparks but to here.... o4gXrYHnbXA Billy MacKenzie - Kites think this a great haunting version of the simon dupree song - the original something being one of those records that on somedays..i dont like it when i hear it and other days it just fits the mood perfectly...(maybe tues and wed after batman   ) D0svzLY-u7E simon dupree & the big sound - Kites and i believe we're back to the start of this comment...with records called kite(s)

one of the videos that turn up last night on youtube had billy idol presenting it - which made me laugh as it was like so cheesy even more than the video that followed it - which was probs Modern Talking... Looking at the celeb impresonations for Tracey Ullman's State of the Union show - it doesnt seem that she has done Paula Abdul or sharon osbourne yet - tho Victoria Beckham and Dina Lohan are listed...pity as that would be fun and kinda ironic (but not in a canuck teen singer with a bit of power ballad angst type of way...) http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/9/9f/Celebtrace.jpg and talking about talent shows...here not only the German Simon Cowell, but the german pete waterman's greatest hits...Dieter Bohlen U6CzZVWiVBE Modern Talking - Ready For The Victory QEO5nf2Ce_k Modern Talking - Only Love Can Break My Heart 4IbPGxYWS_k modern talking--you're my heart you're my soul ect3VoEUJn8 Modern Talking - Brother Louie 2Y7c1_gK8Os Modern Talking - Cheri Cheri Lady M5rzLS8d8Ck MODERN TALKING - SEXY SEXY LOVER DteIcZ1A-VM CC Catch - Heartbreak Hotel 9sUmwfraH28 C.C. 16. well yeah you can understand why it would get airplay in Japan - its the kinda thing they would like (and also obv the Puffy Ami Yumi connection) and here's some more totally kitsch japanese wig-out from the masters of totally kitsch japanese wig-out tunes...Swing Out Si....sorry i mean....Pizzicato 5!!! yay!!! AeZUZaLt0Fw Pizzicato Five - Happy Sad z22nzBVLCto Pizzicato 5 - Twiggy Twiggy D4ueFzla04 Pizzicato Five - Sweet Soul Revue Km-06xvD8z0 Mon Amour Tokyo - Pizzicato Five also to be found here..... http://i24.ebayimg.com/03/c/01/a3/02/38_8.JPG and imo much better than the new sam beeton or will young singles!!! oLyKTrBAbck Eg and Alice - Indian 0ZwPRbaI9BI Eg and Alice - Doesn't mean that much to me tdmvStF-7uc Natalie Imbruglia - Shiver
  17. but its about 'underrated bands' - i suppose not just about what band should have sold more records - and all those above have had many chart hits (even Duffy - tho i guess tin tin tunes are best forgotten) and i guess someone like Cocteau Twins would not be under-rated at all...tho they could have done with selling more records..but then again this might have spoilt their charm to some...would you want them to become the ting tings and be moved to pop now...!!!! and i guess Cocteau Twins getting back together would be in some circles akin to one of the greatest mastorbatory thoughts in indie history..tho maybe not on the same scale as reunions from MBV or JAMC obv... if your looking from some viewpoints (esp indie) wouldnt big commercial success (well at least for Ferry and esp without eno), be a bad thing...esp if it was in that era with nice suits and with cultural retro obsession focused on the 1980s at the moment (hello Ladyhawke fans!!!) thats probs would be brought up making ferry look abit like a smooth-synthpop weller to either duran and spandau's enemy - and this would probs make them under-valued culturally and make ferry seem as culturally important as phil collins or bono... and talking about bono......someone who probably hasnt sold as many albums as the last few u2 singles did  and would probs be best to be mentioned here... B8VPdKEsv1k Gavin Friday - Angel AogdDM9sU-M Gavin Friday - Falling off the edge of the world 6pVlDugMQKE Gavin Friday - You, Me and World War III btw yeah the badfinger tragic story was intersting...i like reading those kinda ones...like the Harry Nilsson one as well...

well its not surprising Goldfrapp tuned up - tho as the interviews were small here's hoping that they were asked other things for other bbc four docs at the same time...could do with having a follow up about french/cosmic disco...tho obv this wouldnt fit well with the britainia doc brand  also was looking at all the free cds this morning, seeing if there was something decent to play and noticed something.... http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/6/6c/Adam_Ant.jpg free album by Adam and the Ants. made by Adam Ant, Merrick, Marco Pirroni, Terry Lee Maill, Gary Tibbs a Gary Tibbs was mentioned in that roxy music documentary and its the same person... now wiki says that - Gary Tibbs member of Adam & the Ants, Roxy Music, The Vibrators, and The Fixx (?!?!? - who ever they are its a worse name than phixx)...and seeing as that early roxy music track worked so well with that footage of punks...maybe you could say yeah its all interlinked...and almost the same thing...well if not totally the same sounds - really just just about dressing up...

  20. and that opinion is based upon what factors (well apart from the fact you think they are $h!t)..that they are female fronted 'pop' act who have big number ones...that they are not the new black crowes
