Yeah thats a idea we thought too when discussing the film the other week....and yeah the film is not really about the joker its really the story of Dent... and yeah get "In The Company of Men"....perhaps in a double-bill with either Eckhart's Thank You For Smoking or Labute's The Shape of Things.... Well obv theres been speculation on whats gonna happen next, and fantasy role casting with a lot of people seeming to want (from one of the best comic book films ever - American Splendor) Paul Giamatti as the Penguin...on the other hand one poster to teletext's vortex the other day wanted to see either Angelina Jolie or Jessica Alba as the Catwoman...which would be a bad idea as Jolie would be too obv and Alba's a plank... Maybe it would be better bringing a lessor villian to the front rather than the big names of Penguin, Catwoman and the Riddler like the Scarerow in the first film and Two-Face in this (tho obv overshadowed) "Vortex: Casey for The Riddler Casey Affleck for the Riddler. Christian Bale is by far the greatest actor of recent time. I also believe Pierce Brosnan is a fantastic actor and under-rated. Si, Felixstowe" "Vortex: Catwoman unwelcome Let's face it people, Halle Berry killed off Catwoman (a ridiculous concept of how she became the manx). If ever Catwoman or Penguin were to be revived they would certainly kill off the Batman franchise. Also thanks to Lee and Decky for the Gambit info. Can't wait to see him incarnated. Mac, Northeast"

when i first heard it i thought it sounded very 1987. very much like those English bands who you dont know who they are but had one hit in the USA and are on those type of VH1 1HitW shows like When In Rome - The Promise from Napoleon Dynamite. dang!!...but perhaps ones more in love with Prince... _unHjRntc9I listening again after reading the Simple Minds comment...it actually reminds me also of another Scottish band (esp in the vocals)..... DImZO6SNAx4 THE BLUE NILE - HEADLIGHTS ON THE PARADE and actually think the Keane record is not too far away in sound from Eg White and Alice Temple's Doesn't mean that much to me (from the previous Sam Beeton thread)...which also has Blue Nile overtones later on in the track 0ZwPRbaI9BI
  4. Is that because its another record penned by Eg White....?? http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B000006YFD.01._SCMZZZZZZZ_.jpg oLyKTrBAbck Eg White and Alice Temple - Indian 0ZwPRbaI9BI Eg White and Alice Temple - Doesn't mean that much to me now if a chart bound duet is needed that might feature a couple of the following... Natalie Imbruglia, Tina Dico, James Morrison, Beverley Knight, James Blunt, Sam Sparro, Adele, Duffy or Will Young think they should look at the above.... and actually was reading the criedits to my mum' Will Young album and noticed the Eg White mixes his tunes at his studio called the Eg Box - which is just a bad pun to far - seeing as it has been reported that he has signed to Parlophone - maybe he needs to release an album under the name Francis White...? 4NI9PUGftuA
  5. Hopefully she will get pregnent like for ever  and never bother anyone again (well i guess apart from ending up presenting some cheapo beauty programme about feet on BBC Three  )
  6. True...but seeing as they came free with an English Newspaper - the Guardian - it would be a bit pointless as everything would have to be translated into English...(tho i guess someone might one to post the reply - but Guardian readers - their so civilised surely they can all speak French already  )...maybe Le Monde might pick up on the idea and produce a series of Chansoners.

But then again unlike Nirvana (which i guess like Hendrix, Sid Vicious and Marc Bolan comes under that continuing marketing/obsession of an icon thing) and also acts such as R.A.T.M. don't think that Pearl Jam would be widely known outside their dedicated fanbase - i guess those dudes who would be intested in buying all their like 50000001 live albums, and i guess would probs be more likely to turn up next to Trey Anastasio/Phish and the Disco Biscuits in Relix magazine than something like Kerrang! these days... As for the film's soundtrack - actually I thought it was alright and possibly a better listening experience than trying to find all the old Pearl Jam singles that my bro left rotting in a box somewhere in the house...

but obv its seems to be against the law to say anything bad about turner and co...tho obv some of their songs might sound more like benny hill than scott walker

Cascada - Because The Night?!?!? a new song or a dance cover exactly the same to the Jan Wayne version from a few years back???
  10. After being high in the airplay chart over the last couple of weeks - thought Ava Leigh would get higher than this - well i suppose the world doesnt want a reggae Joss Stone even more they want the original Joss Stone now - though at least if the public remains unmoved by her reggae-lite and this is the last we hear of ava, i suppose she could slways do a jentina and become a ficture in fhm - not an option that will ever great boy george however he does his face up... DBn5TUQatF4

btw do we include U2 in the indie desperate pile or with mcfly....as they've had #1 doing this as well
  12. Even though the sound of it was compared to like Prefab Sprout doing a Prince track (perhap not the trendyist thing for a bunch of cool newbies) i think Magistrates - Make This Work is great! Should be all over daytime radio!!! 9UPUmqsOBZs

feeling - #67, despite the album re-entering cos of it. so the feeling single didnt flop as it made people buy the album - ad thats the most important thing - thats what singles are for....and i suppose in the download era you cant get people to buy the same thing once they got it on the album (keeping radio play out hype of the equasion for a min)
  14. Kid Rock for one week then Katy Perry
  15. tigerboy posted a post in a topic in Television
no - but looking forward to the second season when it comes on itv
  16. Guy Ritchie's new brilliant film RocknRolla, thats right Guy Ritchie's new brilliant film RocknRolla getting 4 stars out of five and a good review in Total Film this month "Lord love a duck, Guy's only gone and made a belter"... as one 90s hero loses his mojo another regains his....was any one expecting this or do you think when the other reviews come in TF will be shown to have mis-judged it...?
  17. tigerboy posted a post in a topic in Movies and Theatre
yeah i agree - think long term star wars will end up rated higher - once all the hype has died down
  18. pity the last option wasn't Panic Room  reminds me - i know its not to do with the thread that much - but has anyone seen this?? http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/e/eb/Garage_poster_lg.jpg
  19. yeah omg! the reviews for the love guru have been so bad that it might actually be worse than both good luck chuck and steve martin's pink panther....with Alba's career looking more and pointless by the day... on the other hand Get Smart might be alright and be worth watching if nothing else is on - tho obv it's not gonna be in the same league as the Naked Gun (Get Smart's director Peter Segal also did Naked Gun 33⅓) maybe just a bit better than Spy Hard, which I ended up watching last night and wasnt that bad even tho it was a bit cheap spoofery and may be the film really responsible for epic movie, meet the spartans, superhero movie rather than the more sophisticated like airplane and blazing saddled (which were spoofing more the genre than actual films - which works better when watching then 10, 20 years after they were made - tho i had been reading a feature in empire about 80's comedy king john huges just before watching spy hard - and it was quite amazing to think that in the mid-1990s you could get away with spoofing a film - home alone - from 6 years previously esp when the movie spoof films now would try and reference a film weeks before the film has come out) http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/4/42/Spyhardposter.jpg

and also seeing as my bro's kid is a 7 year old boy - i dont think the kinda romance between eve and wall-e would be something that be would be into...plus the fact that he prefers things like jackie chan and wants to watch robocop

Yeah i can see what you mean - havent been inside the Wood Green Cineworld but what i've seen of wood green can imagine what it would be like later one...the Enfield one is alright with many decent screens - tho its one of those usual big box retail park types that you find nearly always next to a pizza hut and the like... tho i guess you probs would have to drive to it (so no getting pissed in Old Orleans just before the love guru  )??? So with the "Adulthood" audience i guess they wouldnt be searching your bag just for smarties smuggled in from morrison's across the road  yeah i know what your saying - there's things i've watched on the big screen that i've loved - and didnt think to impressive once shrunk down to size on tv (tho sometimes film on tv look realy really $h!te - like they've been dipped in a tub of vaseline before transmission or left to fade - was wastching one hour photo the other week and it didnt have the same clear coolness as the film looked on the dvd)...on the other hand something like daywatch enjoyed better the second time around watching it in english on dvd (tho still muddled in parts) where as other things i wonder why did i buy this again??

my bro's kid is 7 and didnt like it - thought it was boring as not enough action or fart jokes...my dad was gonna come watch it with me on the 241 but after hearing his grandson's review not too intersted now and will perhaps watch the 1 star film on five us instead

its got some bad write ups in the press - one one hand too childish and on the other to many random references to old 80s films for the reviewers liking meaning that it doesnt meet in the middle coherently as a good family film - will go and see it but maybe not this week probs will wait till my bro comes round with his kid (who thought wall-e was boring0

and she was on more4's music show the other week as well
  25. I like it and have bought it - like her last dingle - tho tbh I played it next to an old punk track from 1980 (think it was teenage kicks or turning japanse) the other day and wasnt as good as the old punk song
