  1. and i bet iTunes wont allow you to buy those two tracks for 79p each - just like kraftwerk's full version of autobahn and Isaac Hayes 10min+ tracks Walk On By and Phoenix from the 4 track album Hot Buttered Soul (and buying the album is more expensive on iTunes than CD in the shop!!!)
  2. not yet - but Stereolab i think is something i would like to get into - tho havent come across there albums as cheap as other stuff i've bought that i might be into (i.e £3 and under - the fall, suicide etc etc)

yeah here - a few weeks back http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?s...p;hl=White+Lies
  4. do you think Sara Bareilles will have any other hits from this album or do you think Love Song will just be in the chart for like forever....?
  5. it reminds me of something the New Radical Gregg Alexander would do for a Ronan Keating solo album - he's not involved in some way????
  6. its not a top ten list of who is best - it parts so part one comes out on the saturday, part 2 on the sunday...and i suppose they wanted to start on a sat and end on a sat - as to end mid-week would be messy in their plans
  7. btw i've just come back from reading this in the Iglu & Hartly thread... so going by this...if the Flaming Lips are a cosmic synth-pop band - they must sound exactly like goldfrapp circa supernature - true???
  8. Not too sure about them at the moment - maybe if they left that hip-hop part out they would be much better - they sound alright until that point when the spirit is like a 'Limp Bizkit doing a Pet Shop Boy' stenching up the place with a pass the the next Gym Class Heroes party.... think best to stick to MGMT imo...
  9. I'm guessing the list is coming from an American blog - esp since “If You’re Feeling Sinister” by Belle & Sebastian is credited as being out on Matador rather than Jeepster.
  10. and also how do we know if 'Your problem is your black attitude' was said and not ''Your problem is your bad attitude' instead - surely being backstage at a festival with loads of commation going on and music filtering thru - surely its gonna be a bit of noise innit?
  11. yeah too right - you'd like to think that certain bands could at least get in the bottom half the top 75 with a release that there due to the fanbase collecting it - rather than people downloading chasing cars for the billionth time as it its omnipresently played on the radio and promoed on greatest ever driving music comps...yawn yawn yawn.. Well not really in financial difficulty as Echo is not really the small indie label everyone thinks it is...more like Chrysalis Group can see a dying sector and want to get out of that side of the music business and just focus on publishing as they know thats the part of the business thats not in as much terminal decline as the record making side... btw the Chrysalis address is: Chrysalis Group plc The Chrysalis Building Bramley Road London W10 6SP (Chris Wright - Chairman)
  12. btw which store is it free on - looked on iTunes and you have to pay for it - was it only for that week? and yeah releases on USB sticks are kinda gimmicky and cr@p....regretted buying the few singles on USB that i did...too expecnsive and just end up getting lost (tho one was Keane so that might be a plus point  ) - tho i read that Anderson's USB stick album was given away for free at his recent gig... ...however think i'll stick to gimmicks dvds and special packaging are more worthwile - like my single by the Donnas thats made up to look like a stick of gum!!! t
  13. nah even the hoosiers records were good tunes once.... ...when they were originally released by the cure

according to music week's radio growers - bubbly is picking up quite a lot of new airplay (its at #1) recently - so i guess its a case of if at first you dont succeed, plug plug away until someone takes notice...well i guess just look at Gabi Cilmi's slow progress up the charts
  15. tho i guess it could join the hoosiers, the feeling and scouting for girls in the bloody annoying genre if it becomes too omnipresent on the playlist skeds of the land - but at this moment with its popularity ascending im liking it....get back to me in 4 months  than i might be sick to death of it
  16. bought the pretenders album chesp the other day - the one with stop your sobbing and brass in pocket (the one that seems to be about a skint German bloke called Dieter Leaning) and Grace Jones' Private Life turns up sung by Chrissy Hynde - didnt know that it was a Pretenders song andwith the Grace Jones version being in a similar reggae vibe to the version on the pretenders album - never have guessed - and would have expected it to sound like the kinks in the orig versh (tho i suppose since Hynde has had hits with UB40....) thtQngqG4vg
  17. Flo Rida?!?!?! whats he got to do with this argument??? I havent got anything by I AM X - but yeah the sneaker pimps had some great tunes - 6 underground is a great tune (very slinky and very cool) and a pity that no body cared much for them when the female singer left - think she was called kelli ann - left and became slightly less trip-hop (Splinter) - tho they probs ended up like jesus jones in america (tho without the corporate business lunches  ) 8teT_9_nqnw and thankfully EMI let them do what they do without too much interference, btw talking about Mute here is Laibach doing their version of hair-metal classic The Final Countdown.... o4VMDxSyLAU which sounds like Erasure remixing the Army of Lovers....so would you regard them as a "pop group" just like McFly and the Jonas Bros too...tho if its Erasure remixing the Army of Lovers surely it should be seen as a big gay disco thing  4_zA7nukoZA Laibach - Sympathy for the devil (list it with ananarama perhaps  woooooooooh woooooooogh) Q3SvjSu4R-8 Laibach - Life is Life (to be listed with Scooter?!?) MeGq4_TIB68 Rammstein "Stripped" (mmm does anybody need to be told of the connection here!!!) exactly - and if they do sound similar its because Goldfrapp leads and others follow and obv a manufactured pop act would probably want to copy Goldfrapp's styles (tho most will be wanting timbaland's number  ) as obv cheese doesnt sell these days (pop cheese and holiday hits rather than AATW's hardcore dance ) as people are trying endlessly to obtain a certain level of hipster coolness and so manufactured pop have to adapt to survive and will have appropiated the trends and styles of more boho, more leftfield, more cool acts to there own uses - as those acts have become popular (rather than being pop!ular) thanks to all the mejjjja tarts scouting for the latest cool stuff that filters thru blogs, radio one, nick grimshaw etc etc and then down onward ever becoming populaized and commercial until it implodes

    ...or played live on stage
  19. yeah they are too scared to divate from all their market research as they might lose precius audience shares (both radio 1/commercial radio groups)

  21. well i think that Universal's idea of deluxe...will have to think of of one that justifies the added cash
  22. well from the report i read it did also seem like it was one of the hangers on that said that Kele had 'some black attitude' or 'black attitude problem' - which maybe less to do with out and out racism/hatrid and more getting towards a valid point that should have been put across differently and that came out 'wrong and misguided' in the heat of the momentary lapse of judgement and tempor after troubles with Kele that we dont know about... but as for Lydon - take the same view as scott on this point...
  23. yeah i agree to that as well - tho dont know - will anyone be bothered now???
  24. tigerboy posted a post in a topic in Movies and Theatre
can only be a good thing...and esp if it helps the brothers soloman 2 NOT to be made

well i wished i hadn't read the reviews prior to seeing the film that said he sounded like Patty Bouvier from the Simpsons...as for the Joker - kept imagining him played by Frankie Howard  (tho tbh that portrayal of the joker actually reminded of another character but i cant think of now...) Yeah i thought too as i thought it was gonna set him up for a bigger role next time (tho you never know do you???) and the film was really about Dent and the journey into Two Face, which I guess would have happened at the end....as the cliffhanger....lining two face up for the threequel Yeah I agree with you there - i was kinda disappointed by it as well tbh...and yeah think this is due to the hype thats all around it and with loads of people getting caught up in the hype (fans or reviewers) and saying like its the best film ever made....yeah its good, im not disputing that and within its genre maybe it is the best but unlike everyone on imdb i wouldnt go as far as saying its the best film ever - not quite 5 stars...(and imo not as good as No Country For Old Men - which would be my personal fave tho yeah NCFOM did have that ending that divided loads of opinion or There Will Be Blood - tho most probs wouldnt want to go thru watching that again and yeah i would probs go for the dark knight as well again as its an easier watch...well unless Mystery Men is on ITV daytime again  ) I thought Heath Ledger was terrific in it though, he stole every scene he was in and you just thought of him who was some sort of physcotic weirdo, and the fact that when you find out his motives and what he lives for, it makes him even more of a menace. I thought he was better than Jack Nicholson, but it's VERY hard to compare to two, as they both have COMPLETELY different roles and motives as the Joker. http://media.canada.com/e028eb9a-84d6-4def-93db-73f7261fb08f/nocountryforoldmen.jpg Totally agree on that point - but i wouldn't say one is better or one is worse as they are both different and so like so hard to compare Nicholson's perf with Ledger rather maybe the right thing to do is compare Nicholson's Joker with Keaton's Betelguese and Ledger's Joker with a character like Anton Chigurh... and think I would rate Chigurh as the better villian over Ledger's Joker...and maybe Jigsaw in the first Saw as well - don't know (the ferry scene reminded me of something i expect someone to do in a Saw-lite film tbh) - tho obv you wouldnt want to over do the comparisions or could find yourself in the pub argueing over which is the more iconic line - Batman's Ever dance with the devil in the pale moonlight? vs There Will Be Blood's Milkshake  - and tbh could be hard to compare the two Burton films with the two new ones as well... obv the dark knight's cinematography is fantastic - very cool with great shots which have a vibe similar to something like micheal mann's collatoral...and i guess Burton's films looked fantastic when they were first released in 1989/92...but film technologies changes and those Burton films dont look too great now when they've been shown on film4 for the billionth time (like many other films from that period - they are v dated) but maybe they might turn out to be the better films as they are the more enjoyable films when in that kinda endless re-run situation? Hard to say - its too early, tho my mate seen it twice already....but he has been going on about it for weeks....tho tbh i was more impressed that they had had Gomez from the Addams Family as the Riddler on BBC Four
