  1. fro Teletext: Exclusive: Gibbons' film Beth Gibbons has written the soundtrack for new film Baby Blues, we can reveal. Gibbons has written the score for the French romantic comedy, due out in November. The film tells of a married couple who see the same psychiatrist. It's the second time Gibbons has worked for director Diane Bertrand. She also wrote the soundtrack for Bertrand's 2005 film The Ring Finger, but the music has yet to be released
  2. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/3/30/Elprsp.jpg El Presidente fan(s) might wanna look at page 37 of this months Classic Rock as there is an interview with Toby Jepson of the band...might wanna read it now that El Presidente have split up
  3. No but i guess not an act to get into the pages of EW
  4. kwwS1TQVmY8 This is the Black Magic single by Magic Wands (Chris and Dexy Valentine plus magical lion friend) who obv are gonna get labeled like a gazillionbillion times in the press and on radio as the Nashville Ting Tings tho i quite liked the definition in the guardian that had them down as 'the Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsbourg of glacial synth-pop' (yeah!!! now if i hadnt had heard their record already on the radio that would instantly make me intersted!!!) - tho think Chris and Dexy Valentine would have been a better band name than Magic Wands
  5. read the word review of the album - "the latest despatch from the pop-metal wing of the Nerd Resistance Movement" - "sticks to winning recipe of old-school heavy metal, bubblegum pop and geeky sarcasm" has 'cartoon funk-metal' in the form of Everybody Get Dangerous and the "rock-opera fandango" of greatest man...its a good job i have already got the best of Weezer DVD as i probs would have stayed like welllllllllllllllllllllllllaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwwwway from this release adter reading this description
  6. only got round to listeing to his stuff that is on my freebies over the last couple of days... yeah could be something that grows on me as the tracks that i heard would file well with like the flaming lips or mercury rev...or something else kinda otherworldy like that but think the voice is something you goota get used to as Konstantin sings like Jake Shillingford doing an impersonation of Scott Walker by the way of Ian McCulloch submerged Twenty Thousand Leagues under the Sea in 1972....
  7. maybe they need to stick Cheryl Cole or Usher in somewhere (tho the last 2 times i have switched the hits on Bros' When will i be famous has come on which even tho it wasnt nelly or fergie still has has been hell, boy, boy has it has been hell  )
  8. Is that the one where he covers like the first five songs from Orchestral Manoevres In The Dark's experiemental indie album Dazzle Ships in an orchestral style??? http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/c/c8/Dazzle_ships.jpg eAnJUq_OAmU anyway when i first heard this i thought that this just sounds like it needs covering by Win Butler and co... i guess it was repressed Factory records art-urges coming thru

  10. Don't think she falls into Electro either - more singer-songwriter, post-grunge alt.rock..and i bet a Paste magazine centrefold (but did have a embarrising cheesy pop pre-history) see also the thread in the singer-songwriter area http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=67018
  11. No Paddy is dreadful - tho maybe money spent on a new Liquid News series (but with UGC added) would be better than spending it on Scallywagga

c'est la vie was great - a good slice of faux-motown pop tho not as good as mmmmmmmmmmmbop by hanson. my copy of awake and breathe is on minidisc and is in a box on the table...tho dad would have to fix the minidisc player for me to listen to it...

anyone watched Brian Dowling's cheesy pop run-down last night on the hits or on Smash Hits TV - only saw bits of it... T8FikEflip4 however wouldn't say this tune Madonna Hung Up is in anyway cheesy...its one of the most essential, most brilliant disco-tastic tunes of the last few years with a brilliantly cool Swedish-style video diected by Johan Renck (on the other hand his Stakka Bo record is v cheesy jazz-funk-rap thing) IQR9bw-4R08 and another record from the countdown - Girls Aloud Something kinda Ooh wouldnt be at all cheesy if the lyrics didnt go Something kinda ooh, Jumping on my tutu Something 'side of me, Wants some part of you oo-ooh, Something kinda ooh, Makes my heart go boom boom etc musically its a great thumping electro-stomper!!! think the run-down could have done better in places

yeah i had noticed this in the 5 for £30 section at Zavvi - there seems to be quite a lot of DTV or maybe ex-TV movie stuff being put by this (what seems new) DNC entertainment firm - a lot of the time with stars in the films that are like Jessica Biel in Home of the Brave and the other times with people like Dolph Lungren - the mechanik for example....tho sometime with films like this it can be very hit and miss and more time more miss than hit tho DVD premieres are now a more important area of the usual big studios to extend their franchizes or rescue TV pilots/series (Blade - House Of Chthon with Sticky Fingerz). I dont know much about this newbie (maybe its someone's shingle  ) - as there is not much help on their web at the moment - tho there seems to have been a lot of movement within this area with Starz taking over Anchor Bay and New Line being folded into Warners...and the Romainians taking over Metrodome from TV-Loonland http://www.dncentertainment.co.uk/ and the logo has been very influcenced by this dont you think... http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/0/08/DMC_Logo.3.jpg eSCFAxxCO7Q
