Nine Inch Nails
I wouldnt get that yet - unless you can find it very cheaply - as i would see if it will get re-issued as a deluxe package in the next few months - as i think thats the kind of album that would get remastered and re-issued with loads of extra stuff esp if NIN are true independent now...well thats what I'm hoping anyway (though you never know what I'll come back from the £3 and under shop  ) I wanted that - I found that on CD-WOW for £3 and ordered it - however i guess they couldnt get the order and so cancelled it - arse!!!

Gavin Rossdale of Bush fame returns with his debut solo
from Universal Music UK: Gavin Rossdale of Bush fame returns with his debut solo album Wanderlust. The new material is his best since iconic tracks like 'Swallowed' and 'Everything Zen' saw Bush sell over 12 million records worldwide. Lyrically though the mood is more optimistic, with Gavin in a reflective mood, drawing on new influences and a guest vocal from one Shirley Manson of Garbage. The album Wanderlust is out on June 9th Seeing that there is also Shirley Manson - maybe it wont be as bad as Institute or even 3 back to back episodes of the 2008 Glamour List on Fiver with Daisy and Peaches  and did you know if you search for Lodger - Always Round Here on youtube - you are firstly directed to this: ZP95btX8NJE Counting Crows and Round Here  however if you go via Google you can find: 'i'm leaving'by LODGER here: http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseacti...VideoID=9544909 ...which I guess is more interesting than some of the shows you may find on the former Five Life

Indie Soundclash 9
but sad to say Ernie the fastest milkman in the west is the better song...  - Benny Hill is the 'Breeit' McKenzie of Alex Turners
-
Indie Soundclash 9
i also voted Mystery Jet - probs because the other tune is a not very good approximation of 'Ernie the fastest milkman in the west' cLKaLvrtn-8 Benny Hill - Ernie the fastest milkman in the west

Alanis Morissette - "Flavours Of Entanglement" Era
Noticed a few copies of the new single stocked right at the bottom of the chart wall in HMV - so i doubt it will hit the top 75, maybe not the top 100...

Reasons why I don't buy the therory of'Political/Neighbourly
Well some of this maybe true esp if you are taking a Songlines Magazine - but as far as commercial pop music goes there not that much of difference between what is produced in say in one European country to an other- apart from say differing languages - you just have to look at a popular music compilation series like Now Thats What I Call Music - theres overlaps between the UK ones, the American ones, the Thai ones, the Czech ones, the Dansk ones, the Aussie ones - in fact the only part people may have 'trouble'.'be totally alien to' is with a Now Dance Arabia compilation (see below for track listings): However there might be a point to make in the nature of camp that may be alien to viewers outside certain Westernn countries who view it wit irony, cynacism and bad taste camp - where as countries without the history of dodgy 1970s, 1980s - 1990s clip shows - prob view it more seriously. However also I guess there may be slight 'political' voting going on - not actually to do with anything really political just the fact after being bombarded with so many song that merge all into one - its easier just to remember a country rather than the artist Now Dance Arabia: 1. El Ead Albou - Baha Sultan 2. Baddi Hebik - Melhim Zain 3. Reyeh Balak - Tamer 4. Zai el Soukar - Diana Hadad 5. Wahda Wahda - Mohamed Hamaki 6. Ana Habbet - Weal Jasser 7. An Alternative Indie Eurovision Song Contest
Actually I had a thought like this not a million miles away:

MGM lines up 'Robocop', 'Red Dawn' remakes
then again i guess it can't be any worse than the TV series (mini series/DTV movies?!?!?) - you know the cheap ones you get on Prism Leisure when you buy a cheap DVD player in Tescos... ...then again if they want to make the remake all urban - at least I think I know a good theme tune.... http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/e/ee/Rodolfo_Chikilicuatre.jpg

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
Me too - I have watched the first three so many times! Havent seen the first 3 (apart from the obv classic scenes on clip shows) and the trailer makes it look like its gonna be much worse than the two National Treasure films and Sahara - so probs will only go if others wanna see it or if there's nothing else to see.

27 Dresses, The Accidental husband, Made of Honor,
How about this one.... http://www.iwatchstuff.com/2007/11/14/made-of-honor-poster.jpg

Pushing Daisies
well its not the kinda thing ITV1 normally has on Saturday nights - and I guess you need quite traditional ITV1 programming in that slot (actually works better watching it Sunday arvo) - maybe it would have got better ratings say Friday night against Dirty Sexy Money - tho this might have led to people saying oh they are just trying to be C4 - tho I think it would have been better to swap this show for something like that Audience without Beadle show that was on the other week - from the minute or so i saw of it i guess thats was more like a cheesy Staurday night show (tho I guess one thats taking the network back like 20 - 30 years  ) - tho seeing that there was already a Beadle tribute clip show when he died - they could have just not bothered with that pointless Beadle show - and skedded the additional PD show in that slot. I guess season 2 of PD would work best on ITV2 - but then again they need to move Entourage to ITV4 and stop messing it around.

An Alternative Indie Eurovision Song Contest
Yeah the Hives are great - tho would you say Hate to Say I Told You So is more essential than Main Offender Sweden is quite easy for picking indie bands - tho it does seem to be the epicentre of twee some times and over the water (or on the train thru the bridge  ) you could have someone like the Kissaway Trail and Efterklang for Denmark...

Best Europop / Eurodisco songs ever
well wiki say: French Affair is a German-French pop band, established in 2000, whose biggest hits so far are "Sexy", "Do What You Like" and "My Heart Goes Boom". Their lead singer, Barbara Alcindor, was born in Paris, and currently lives in London. Alcindor began her career as a fashion model, before trying her hand in music. After signing with the BMG record label and teaming up with the Dreyer Brothers production team, French Affair scored a pair of sizable hit singles in 2000 with "My Heart Goes Boom", "Poison" and "Do What You Like" - denting the charts in France, the UK, Italy, and Germany. In 2000 French Affair recorded their debut full-length album, Desire The band's songs have been released in more than 58 countries, selling 2.5 million CDs. well unless anyone can think of a better artist - we'll leave it in france for now tho i guess we could have Claude François with "Comme d'habitude" (original of "My Way") AmHntiV2Ebs

An Alternative Indie Eurovision Song Contest

'INDIE' - is that word just bollocks??
but not to dwell on them for too long - cant you also say that PWL had there own distinct sound and personality...tho whereas 4AD is their kind of dream-pop - PWL cheesy Hi-NRG Eurodicso??? and talking of production-line bollocks.. isnt this a big problem with indie with its never ending me too policy of signings - the if everyone else is doing it why cant we mentality (tho i guess nobody else wants to sound like the Cranberries  ) Hair-metal / glam-metal / spandex rock - call it what you want, might be awful but i guess i suppose if its there just to be dumb fun party rock music - to be enjoyed by people who like it so what...was reading about a big hair-metal concert in Rolling Stone - Rocklahoma - with people like Ratt, Poison and Quiet Riot and it might be very dumbass in comparison to the 'high arts' of the nme - tho for the people there it was just a way to let their hair down, have a beer look at some girls and just party par-tay par-tay!!! - think maybe they might have a point - they like it - so thats what they like - rather than thinking that their musical tastes owe them some great superiority over other (which can happen some times esp in some very male led enviroments of music culture - esp in the indie bore)

Hit Records
Just thinking about the terms of hit records - what do you say a hit is? top 10 top 75 top 20...so if a record has become a massive radio record and everbody knows the tune - but that record didnt chart in the 75 - can it be seen as a hit or not??

Best Dance Tunes from Europe
OK here's the Eurovision list of countries (and Austria) but if we to fill it up with rreally really cool records from European dance acts what records would be on the list for what countries (and you are not allowed here to vote for Scooter in Germany's place) Albania · Andorra · Armenia · Azerbaijan · Belarus · Belgium · Bosnia and Herzegovina · Bulgaria · Croatia · Cyprus · Czech Republic · Denmark · Estonia · Finland · FYR Macedonia · France · Georgia · Germany · Greece · Hungary · Iceland · Ireland · Israel · Latvia · Lithuania · Malta · Moldova · Montenegro · Netherlands · Norway · Poland · Portugal · Romania · Russia · San Marino (Italy) · Serbia · Slovenia · Spain · Sweden · Switzerland · Turkey · Ukraine · UK · + Austria · so for example for France - would it be Daft Punk or Justice or someone else?

An Alternative Indie Eurovision Song Contest
but would be the very best indie/alternative/metal/rock song by a Greek act?
-
Dima Bilan - Timbaland
it was done by a protoge of tim called Jim Beanz however think the ESC shouldnt stray away 2 much from Europe and become too American - tho a North America song contest would be good where you could have Barenaked ladies in Canada vs Mr Vegas in Jamaica
-
Song that would have made great Eurovision entries
Aneka's Japanese Boy has just come on my 100 Hits of Cheesypop record - now thats a record that should be at Eurovision... ...or if not covered by Scooter!!!
-
Cat Power, the too-tortured artist?
well i guess when it comes to cover they are best to be alternative readings rather than just doing it like the original and also its best if your not showcasing stuff thats not too obv - and as for Westlife..they might be average but at least they are not Duran Duran http://www.artistinterviews.com/news/DURAN%20DURAN%2010CM%20300DPI.jpg (btw if you are on a computer at uni or in a library be careful doing a google picture search for Duran with their American guitarist.... )

Beth Rowley
actually tbh - think the Oh My Life record gives the wrong impression of Rowley than the other tracks that are showcased by the album's ads - as Oh My Life you think here annother useless Melua wannabe - she's much better
