  1. My brother is under the impression that the Russian entry is produced by Timbaland (I've picked it as my sweep stake - so he wants it) - tho according to wiki its produced by someone else (one of his other random production dudes you know one of those random production dudes who normally gets to do Duran Duran and things like that) - but he has been working with Timbaland on some track for the 'Western' market... however as far as Eurovision goes i was thinking wouldnt it be awful if the concert became too American slick and corpotate - and all the Eurotrash was replaced by things that sound all like Timbaland productions - and/or Nelly & Fergie, Usher/Young Jeezy and the rest of those that played to death on the hits when the original bucks fizz cheesy countdown is not on...
  2. I was wondering - did More 4 show it esp for Eurovision this week - or was it by chance??
  3. Yeah they had the My Lovely Horse episode on More 4 the other night - its gonna go on my Eurovision DVD-R with the final however as for the Crazy Frog - actually a couple of years ago i thought it would be fun to see the Crazy Frog in for Germany or Sweden - just to see how they could do it on stage...tho obv the Turkey got there first. (btw Axel F and Popcorn by the Crazy Frog actually an improvement on the originals tbh give an award to those Bass bumpers just for that  )
  4. well we're lucky that there is 5 of us in our family - so each gets an equal amount from the ones in the final - tho i guess if it was different - then we would have to put added jokers in it like Austria and Ireland
  5. But - I'm guessing it will be mostly about Lordi - if its based around the 2007 final in Helsinki - Lordi will play a big part of the story - as obv Lordi will have to have won at the 2006 one for Helsinki to get it in 2007...
  6. Nothing wrong with a bit of Eurodance now and again - but which track? and Falco - Rock Me Amadeus is also on the list as it was 10 years ago that he died and he's like the Austrian 2pac or something like that  - and i guess its better thasn DJ Otzi's Burger Dance
  7. think they are French - thats what the hit singles book say - your not thinking of someone like La Bouche (who were, I think, German based but had American vocalists)

yeah i can only remember Ireland entry from Tuesday  (for obv reasons - and the fact that it replaced the Pigeon Detectives as the song going round and round and round in my mind - tho thankfully theres not gonna be a Turkey vs Pigeon contest here  )

Finns on the north-east fringe of Europe have always placed a lot of hope in the Eurovision entries since 1961. Their lack of success has therefore traumatized two generations of Finns. The documentary sees Eurovision as a symbolic passport to Europe. After World War II Europe's impression of Finland was that of a brave country, resisting occupation but geopolitically placed too close to Communist Russia. The hope to be a part of Western Europe was nourished each spring on the Eurovision stage. We shall follow the preparations for the coming 2007 final in Helsinki. If they only had replaced the one after that with Andorra!!!
  12. well i'm hoping on Sweden as well as its one of 5 I've picked out 'blind' - I've also got the old man as well in my picks
  13. OMG! not on iTunes - thats dreadful...that was the only good thing that could have happened to the chart this week...(apart from the Sparks album charting) tho i suppose the UK entry could pick up a few DLs tonight???
  14. Every week i record The Hits Top 40 show on Monday nights at 8pm - so i was wondering if Eurovision entries get downloaded into the top 40 charts tonight - will there be videos for the hits or will they just have to say we cant play the track? which have videos?
  15. Just looked at the chart predictions - that has Spritualized at around 110 in the singles chart :( Another thing i've noticed with the Spritualized record and with the recent record by the Fall - is that these two Sanctuary acts have not been moved to any other of the Universal labels that has happened with say Morrissey and V2's Paul Weller and Elbow..esp when you think there would be a home for them under Fiction or W14. Actually both the Fall and Spritualized records are being handled by Universal's back cat. marketing department so they are there with all the BBC Sessions from the La's, Cud re-issues and extended Marvin Gaye records - so does this mean both acts will be let go from Universal once they have put out these records out - as Sanctuary's recordings has been merged with this department. Also looking in the Hit Singles book at the Ocean Colour Scene hitography - its quite scary to think that al those labels OCS have recorded for - Island, Fontana, MCA, Sanctuary were separate labels once and now they are allowned by Vivendi-Universal...scary monopoly business fact there!!!
  16. 22nd
  17. Is that the Snap! remix or the Red Jerry remix - actually they do quite a good job trying to savage that record and make it good as the original is like this awful 80s synthpop record :puke2: :puke2: - horrid.

Did anyone else think that the second semi-final was much much better than the first semi-final - just the quality of first few songs (up to that Lithuanian entry obv) - thought you could have done away with most of the first lot (where Dustin was a high point!!!!) and just entered all of these into the final!!! however pity the Andorran entry wasnt in the second lot - think it would have got thru then

  23. so is your dad like mine and always going on about language on tv - i know cant hardly watch any of my dvds in the lounge when my dad is here as he will complain about the language (my room i guess is more of a mess than down town Mogadishu  - so cant watch them there) - and some thing like Fur TV (which is normally on just after he goes to bed) will have to keep turning the volume up and down depending on the lanaguge and the loudness of the compressed advert sounds (he alwsy turns off the adverts onto Mute as he thinks they are too loud) Just watching that Angus Deayton programme - you can see the shift in language (ok dont know which are pre-watershed and whats not) - even though there doesnt seem to much shift in actual comedy styles when it comes to surreal things - newer shows would use more explicit language where innuendo would have been used in the 70s or 80s (tho obv there was Kenneth Tynan on BBC3, Derek and Clive etc etc) and on the other hand maybe you should be employed by Angus Deayton to write his links
  24. So has anybody put any bets on Eurovision? or are going to do any drinking games along to it or is anyone going to have a Grand National like Sweep Stake on it between friends and family? think my family are gonna have a couple of countries pulled out of a tin to see who wins - what are other people doing - sing-a-long-a-eurovision-ing perhaps?
