  1. tho maybe too cynical would be putting "Yeah but she's on (EMI owned former indie label) Mute" and MD of (Universal owned former indie label) Island Records" into your critique...tho maybe that could be seen as being too pedantic as well   and kinda obv...not really life changing in their selections...tho i guess the resulting media omnipresence could be worse..lets hope the media dont create another blur vs oasis or even duffy vs adele hyperbole by squaring Florence and the Machine up to Rosie And The Goldbug
  2. XjblmnjLKyk Golden Silvers - Magic Touch I have been listening to this, and even tho I like it and its a catchy record...has anyone else come to the conclusion that they maybe nothing more than the new ordinary boys....
  3. artrocker is generally up its own arse much more then the nme (who normally is portraid as the bad guy of the alternapress in the pages of artrocker)...clash is a bit better (tho slightly more mainstream at times) and plan b can be alright tho a bit too leftfield - even more than artrocker
  4. yeah like them - but i do wish whoever got the rights to that film Tunde Adebimpe starred in called jump tomorrow would now play it on tv without the BSL dude poping up and doing the sign-language every could of minutes...supposed to be a good film and i'm sure it would be better if that was shown for one with out the subs and they would show something like Bond with BSL for deaf viewers...
  5. and at least ryan adams and coldplay had their albums re-issued with the second disc that was also put out with the bonus tracks as an ep for those who had bought it already - didnt mind that (tho glasvegas xmas must have been limited to about 50 copies as could i find it in the shop without buying the album that i already bought on cd/dvd - could i hell as like)
  6. well think thats obv - esp with the covers by scooter and rammstein

and which if its like most forums on here will be a pro-blur love-in devoid of criticism...personally think blur reforming is a bad idea...kinda retrograde step after gorillaz, monkey and cheese making celebrity statuses
  8. didnt get to see Waz (not waz W triangle Z or whatever its supposed to be called!!!) - tho the children looked a big dodgy from the trailer but getting some alright reviews so maybe it will be alright - better than scar 3d anyway

yeah (well thats why i was thinking Italian as well - with a hint of OSS117 perhaps but played straight)...tho quite a few people have criticized the film for using him as an Arab character (tho Strong is like Anglo-Italian)...but he was great in that role and very believable as that character..probs you could think he was an arab chacter actor playing that role if you didnt know who it was...and possibly more beliveable than some of the portrayals in something like W - where soemtimes it wasnt that believable all too rory bremner/jon culshaw at times... btw have you seen waltz with bashir
  10. Seeing that Boy George is supposed to be the 'Hear and Now' tour headliner of 2009....and that he's gonna be locked up (imo for crimes against music - guilty of being a blue-eyed soulster with lots of nasty reggae-lite bollocks)...I wonder if the organizers are franticly trying to book a replacement headline name to go alongside such names as Kim Wilde, Howard Jones, Kid Creole and the Coconuts, Altered Images, Hazel O'Connor and Brother Beyond (i'm guessing Worlds Apart would probs be headlining if this tour was going thru France) Wondering (and obv seeing that Hellboy II is gonna be out on DVD on Monday and that i have already mentioned it once today) is it time for Matt Goss to join the tour as headliner (tho imo think Right Said Fred or David van Day might be more fun!!!)?!?!? btw Music Week reported Craig Logan as saying that his management client P!NK really wanted to work with omnipresent chart writing guru 'Eg White' as she couldn't believe someone could be really called that...which is quite funny seeing that this would be coming from someone who has been trading under the name of P!NK for about a decade or so (and who's started to act in films under the name of Alicia Moore anyway  ) bUAp9QZHED0 'Kid Creoles' best record: Machine - There But For The Grace Of God There Go I also isnt the clubland aping dance nation live tour from hard2beat getting too much like a hear & now tour with sash!, lasgo and ian van dahl on the bill
  11. maybe he was thinking well at least it isnt 9 million-billion bicycles in bloody bejing...and thats a fact!!!
  12. dont know it - never heard it..and thinking its queen it should be on tv like every year...and actually dont think it was mentioned in the queen feature that was in mojo the other week that i ended up reading (tho i think that should be queen + the bloke from free...tho i think wyclef jean and pras got to the credit featuring queen and free before queen and paul rodgers) btw vindaloo was great...and the flipside of last christmas - big time by whiggy i liked a lot at that time - hi di hi di hi di ho (and you didnt have to look at jonas the joker's big huge face from ace of base either)
  13. Christmas Records that probably wont get played in any shops in-store sound systems for being too rude or risque... cwWoeXiEmpU 1. Judge Dread- Christmas In Dreadland any ruder examples???

  15. no no no wouldnt want to do that - unless it is supposed to have been a shoreditch t*** kinda spoof in the first place  tho unlike the proper cd cases of mojo or songlines and those cardboard boxes of the word - the artrocker cd is not in a proper box - so i guess it could have 'accidentally' fallen off artrocker and inside a copy of DVD Review with all those card fall out wanting to give you 33% off if you subscribe Nooooooooow!!!!...

Self released and free due to the fact he's like a really really $h!t $h!t $h!t version of phil collins and i dont think Paul Carrack has any credibilty for being a bit prog in the 1970s - think he only was writing that dumb song that only has one verse...how long..how long?!?!? about a minutes effort to come up with that $h!te as it only has one verse repeated over and over again??? and they call it a juxebox classic??? :puke2: :puke2: instead think you should download Squeeze - This Summer...as its a lost britpop classic (tho very much sounding like Crowded House i guess) lN8KurJDXPY or The The - Uncertain Smile (i think this is the record with Jools Holland on it at the end doing his boogie woogie thing) dz50N2_tCCg

PHaI4uZ4oeg Not the French act - 'the French Interpol' if you must....but the twin sons of Ricky Nelson...Matthew and Gunnar ( ) Nelson who from their bio can be found on the Cruise Ship Circuit and doing a tribute act for their father called "Ricky Nelson Remembered"....which is probably where this dreadful retro hair metal act should be and not like every other - releasing album on spv and appearing in classic rock with the quireboys, extreme and thunder....

after googling their video -  its a pity that that its some increadibly so nang damn cool French act and not them on the cover of artrocker...esp when sometimes reading artrocker can seem like somekinda Nathan Barley/Charlie Brooker p*** take as it is - tho i guess that would be just too silly to do something like that...  PHaI4uZ4oeg Btw do you think this is what Guillermo del Toro was thinking when he hired Luke Goss as Hellboy II's Prince Nuada   - tho obv dodgy late 80s/early 90s hair metal band might be more scary than any elf dude from the beasty underworld or any wide-mouth vampires  http://www.collider.com/uploads/imageGallery/Hellboy_2_The_Golden_Army/hellboy_ii_the_golden_army_movie_image_luke_goss_as_prince_nuada__1_.jpg
  22. If this the unoficial one - when it SA's first official one gonna be launched i read that it was gonna be soon...
  23. Did anyone else get the free cd on the cover of artrocker - so which tracks/acts did you like the best?
  24. but they also think they will get the present shoppers who normally dont go out their way to buy albums...
  25. I actually believe that the fact Radio:ACTIVE was given away in the paper very much affected McFly's sales for their singles. OFTR came out on the week of the Sunday the paper had the album and Do Ya was on that and the Deluxe edition. Lies did the best, even though it charted lower than OFTR at 4, with it not being on the free album but the Deluxe edition album was due out soon afterwards. The main reason has to have been their single choices though, with OFTR and Do Ya. There are only about 2 weak songs left on the album now, but the way they're going they'll release them too. But seriously, they'll probably have a strong single next. Lies has been the strongest release but still isn't the best on the album, there are about 3 better at least. Well its becoming that because of all the hype on the first single and albums - third and forth releases by established acts (but not including add ons to deluxe reissues) are becoming more and more pointless - as by then the album is retailing for about £5 and the radio stations are still playing the first hit over and over again...
