I think The Pilot was well laid out especially for those new to the show. I do recall better series openers but it wasn't awful or anything.

Definitely :cry: I'd defend Eaters of Light as well but thinking about it the storyline wasn't all that exciting other than the aspects I highlighted in my comments.
