Non-Top 75 Flops
Chaka Khan - "Through the Fire" #78 in 1985. Found a lease of life on that prat Kayne West's "Throught the wire" but the original is a gorgeous power ballad. Again, why wasn't this a bigger hit? ymuWb8xtCsc

I love that Mandy Smith song - shame she never had a hit :( "Madonna Eyes" is one of Jennifer Rush's best after "The Power of Love". I love the Dead or Alive track - good piece of t***** pop. #79 in February 1991 - "Secret" by Heart (Why the hell wasn't this a big hit!!): k-JpBjLXVkI "Love Hurts" by Barbara Dickson - made #153 (Zobbel supplied the information) was the theme tune to "Band of Gold" a drama series about prostitutes - she was in it hlGKjHDWkbg

As we head to the polls on Thursday, this is a list of #1s on election day: 2010 - Roll Deep - "Good Times" 2005 - Tony Christie ft Peter Kay - "Is This The Way to Amirilo" 2001 - Shaggy ft Rayvon - "Angel" 1997 - Michael Jackson - "Blood On The Dancefloor" 1992 - Shakespears Sister - "Stay" 1987 - Whitney Houston - "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" 1983 - The Police - "Every Breath You Take" 1979 - Art Garfunkel - "Bright Eyes" (Not a love song for Maggie lol) 1974 oct - John Denver - "Annie's Song" 1974 feb - Suzi Quatro - "Devil Gate Drive" 1970 - Mungo Jerry - "In The Summertime" 1966 - Walker Brothers - "The Sun Aint Gonna Shine Anymore" 1964 - Roy Orbison - "Pretty Woman" 1959 - Craig Douglas - "Only Sixteen" 1955 - Tony Bennett - "Stranger In Paradise" Not really a vintage list I may add. The Jacko song could be a metaphor for the Tories heavy deafeat that year. I remember another landslide on the 3rd of May, the UK's last Eurovision win with Katrina and the Waves.

ultimate one hit wonders of the millennium
2007 (Not a vintage year) 10 - Peter Bjorn & John feat. Victoria Bergsman - Young Folks (This was one of the best songs of that year!!!) 09 - Amy MacDonald - Mr Rock & Roll (Love Amy MacDonald) 08 - Mutya Buena - Real Girl (Shame her solo career hasnt been revived) 07 - Feist - 1234 (This was used in advert, had to check it on YT!) 06 - Gossip - Standing In The Way of Control (Good band, at their start when this came out) 05 - Robyn & Kleerup - With Every Heartbeat (It's a good song, but I can find five songs better than this) 04 - Newton Faulkner - Dream Catch Me (Laidback track, what happened to him? I remember everyone mad on his album that year) 03 - Junior Jack feat. Shena - Dare Me (Stupidisco) (Great dance track, shame Shena's solo career never took off) 02 - Dada feat. Sandy Rivera & Trix - Lollipop (Sexual and this is not a troll vote) 01 - Lee Mead - Any Dream Will Do (He did the song justice, wish he'd get a haircut - the style is out) I do not want to hear "Hey There Douchebag Delilah" or the High School Musical crap again same with "heartbroken" many memories of this blasted on the bus by chavvy schoolkids. 2008 10 - One Night Only - Just For Tonight (F---ING AWESOME TUNE!!!! Best song of that year!) 09 - Sam Sparro - Black & Gold (Still sounds fresh today) 08 - Black Kids - I'm Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend How To Dance With You (Great indie tune, was a big noise in 2008) 07 - Sara Bareilles - Love Song (This could still be a massive hit today. Shame she never took off here) 06 - Platnum - Love Shy (Thinking About You) (Prefer the original by Kristine Blond who found more fame trying to sing for Denmark in Eurovision in 2006) 05 - Ida Maria - I Like You So Much Better When You're Naked (Fun song) 04 - Panic! At The Disco - Nine In The Afternoon (They have had better tracks but this is good) 03 - M.I.A. - Paper Planes (Love this one) 02 - Same Difference - We R One (Cheesy but fun!) 01 - H "Two" O feat. Platnum - What's It Gonna Be? (Bit like Heartbroken, and again chavs blasting it but a good track) That X-Factor massacre of "Hero" was not needed. -1000 points and "All Summer Long" is the hick anthem.

2006 10 - The Similou - All This Love (Rainbow Stalin!!!! Seriously, it's a great track - underrated) 09 - Nerina Pallot - Everybody's Gone To War (Underrated singer-songwriter she is. Glad this became the hit it was screaming to be) 08 - The Ordinary Boys vs. Lady Sovereign - Nine2Five (Nice mix of ska and rap - looks a car crash on paper, but it's a catchy tune) 07 - Rogue Traders - Voodoo Child (LOVE this, catchy as anything) 06 - Corinne Bailey Rae - Put Your Records On (Fresh summery song - a big hit with the local hotel performers round here) 05 - Jose Gonzalez - Heartbeats (Very laidback) 04 - Maria Lawson - Sleepwalking (She was a beautiful singer - underrated) 03 - Paris Hilton - Stars Are Blind (Batlle of the tarts with Katie and her - at least Paris has a decent voice and a good song) 02 - Meck feat. Leo Sayer - Thunder In My Heart Again (Interesting remix) 01 - Katie Price & Peter Andre - A Whole New World (Not a troll vote, the epic live version gives it a top 10 result :D) sorry Sandi (even if "What If I Am Right" was 1000 times better) 2007 and 2008 to follow if thats allowed..........

Non-Top 75 Flops
Beyonce wasn't the first "Independent Woman" it was Roxanne Shante in 1990 making the dizzy heights of #77 - it's forgettable, but it's a decent feminist rap: gs6QlPAO2Js Jennifer Rush she of the "Power of Love" fame, was a regular in this region: "Higher Ground" made #98 in 1990 - very up-tempo and more suited to Eurovision: BOUNKLRFPgg "You're My One and Only" made #90 in November 1988 - a ballad, but pleasent. 492EyyJCQmI "Madonna's Eyes" made #84 in March 1986 - another up-tempo, but very dramatic and powerful - this could have been a massive hit mSvRMBUHiy4 Whitney Houston's first single "You Give Good Love" - #93 in 1985 - This is a beautiful soul track: EaT9NjgUNyE

Non-Top 75 Flops
This is not a good track, but deserves a LOL for the production values on the song - was originally going to be released in Summer 2003, released August 2004 and made #80! "Painted Pony" - Acoustic Love Experience 4QB9IG3z7G4
-
Non-Top 75 Flops

Not the most vintage of Now albums I may add. A lot of poor songs, including the worst song ever by Ed Sheeran. Devlin ain't that good a rapper. Saying that, overration with Ne-Yo and that odious Emeli Sande/Labrinth duet. Shame "Wonder" wasn't the bigger hit of the two. Don't get me started on that hideous Carly Rae/Owl City duet. How many minutes did it take to write that? I can imagine that song being performed very badly live.

I think Rihanna has either gotten too big for her own boots, hence the off-the-rails behaviour and bad songs or her star is starting to fade. Excluding the desperate and god-awful featuring performances with Eninem and Kayne (I hate Rihanna when she sings with that c.t Kayne), she hasn't had a hit since "Stay".

Could we ever get a 10 plus weeks at Number 1 track again?
2007 was the last time we had 10 weeker at #1 which was Rihanna with "Umbrella". It's unlikely Rihanna will ever equal that feat again, but can you see it happening again? The early 1990s it was the norm - Bryan Adams had 16 weeks, Whitney with 10, Wet Wet Wet's epic 15 weeks stay. Likely to happen or unlikely with music available on tap now?

Johnkm's ABBA TOP 100
This song has memories and OK it isn't about Harry the bank worker, but the song reminds me of Summer 2014, the last summer I spent with my partner before he died suddenly in October. My favourite song of theirs.
