So sorry to hear about your break up :( Break ups suck :( but I’m glad that you’re listening to something fresh and new with no memories associated to your past relationship and that you’re enjoying it so much. I love this album so much - I completely agree with what you another’s have said about cohesion. I love that it’s so personal to Taylor too. Honestly though, this album has completely destroyed my Spotify wrapped for the year

It’s an interesting one for me because the highs on 1989 are probably the highest than any other album but there are so many tracks that I just don’t bother with. It’s quite hard to do a top 10 in order and I actually think my top six are all favourites at different points. Thinking about them as whole albums, my order is: 1. Speak Now 2. Red (TV) 3. Midnights 4. Evermore 5. Folklore 6. 1989 7. Lover 8. Fearless (TV) 9. Reputation 10. Taylor Swift

It’s great :) Holding up so well on Spotify so agree it will hopefully get another week at #1 even if not next week. I guess we have to start preparing ourselves for the Christmas madness too

I agree that it is a huge achievement. But seemingly not just in 2022. Since 1991 there have only been 22 albums that have sold over 1 million in a week. Adele’s 25 did it 3 times! I posted this in the other thread: Apparently, only 22 albums have sold over 1M in one week in the US (since they started tracking it in 1991). Taylor has 5 out of those 22 albums: Speak Now: 1,047,000 (16th in 2010) Red: 1,208,000 (18th in 2012) 1989: 1,287,000 (19th in 2014) Reputation: 1,238,000 (21st in 2017) Midnight: 1,578,000 (22nd in 2022) 5 of the last 7 albums to sell 1M+ have come from Taylor. The only other two albums were by Lady Gaga (Born This Way) 17th album in 2011 and Adele (25) 20th album in 2015.
