This doesn’t surprise me at all. It certainly hasn’t remained a fan favourite. I also just looked up the top 100 songs of 2017 and it ended 2017 as the 89th biggest selling song. That must have been one of (if not the) lowest selling #1 of the year.

Everything has changed surprised me too - I didn’t realise it had sold so much. I think either Cardigan or Exile would have made good first single choices as both were popular at the time. But I see your point though: was Cardigan only as popular because it was a single and if Exile had been pushed as a single, given just how popular it was despite it not being so, would it have gone on to perform much better than Cardigan did in those first few weeks?

Out of those five multi platinum songs, I’d probably say that two, maybe three of them are in my topish Taylor songs - but none of them would be in my top 5. Out of the following 10 platinum songs, I’d say three of them are in my top Taylor songs :lol:

I hadn’t even thought about it from that perspective - 2014 was such a great time for me too, including the housemates I was living with etc. Plus it is the time for me that I became a full on Taylor stan. Ultimately though, I can’t wait to hear Speak Now - especially Enchanted - I missed the hype of that era, only listening to the album many years later and I’m hoping I can at least get some of the hype with the re-recording. I’m also hoping it means more people will take the time to listen to it and enjoy the great album it is - all of it written just by Taylor I might add :heart:

As the first two months of this year come towards a close, it can’t be long before Taylor announces her next re-recording. As we know, nothing is a guarantee when it comes to Taylor but it seems likely that one of the earlier albums will come earlier in the year with 1989 coming later (Fearless came in April and Red November 2021). What are you most excited to hear and why?

Thanks for these updated figures - you’re an absolute star. Interesting to see that in the long run, Exile is more popular than Cardigan - just. Despite Its low peak, Delicate has really gone on to ‘sell’ consistently. All albums platinum apart from the first and the last :heart:

I know the signed CDs have been given out today and so this will save the song this week (by how much is yet to be revealed) but after this week I think it’s gonna tank. I’ve got to be honest, I played it so much the last few days since release but I’m kinda bored of the song already. Think I’ll go back to playing All Too Well…
