Predict: Taylor Swift - The Tortured Poets Department
I think the idea of an artist being "overexposed" only matters if they are pumping out an album every year, of poorer quality than they can achieve at their best. If she can still put out a top quality album that people love, then I don't think it matters.

Biggest Falls and Climbs
Killing in the Name by RATM went from 80 to number 1. I think the biggest jumps ether way will probably be either through campaigns like that, or through a song leaking early then being officially released.

Streaming Services Chart Discussion
This. There's every chance the next Adele comeback song will get much higher streams that Easy On Me got, purely because the shift towards streaming has been even bigger since then.

iTunes Weekly Thread w/c 15th December 2023
I mean, the past 5 Christmas number ones got there on massive downloads alone, so I guess we've got used to that being the case! But download sales really have plummeted over the last few years: LadBaby paid-for sales in 2020: 148,749 Total paid-for sales for all songs in the most recent chart week: 299,937

iTunes Weekly Thread w/c 15th December 2023
He did a video asking his fans to download it, to see if they could get another week in the top 100. I am bemused who is downloading it, though, as surely his fans will already own it? Can you buy a song multiple times on iTunes?

LadBaby "Chirstmas Legacy Song"
I've just seen this link appear on Facebook: It goes live in 2 hours. The description mentions "100% of the profits from every download will go towards the work of the Trussell Trust and their network of food banks in the UK." My bet is that it will be a melody of their previous 5 songs, so they can say "SEE, IT'S NOT A NEW SONG! HAHA AREN'T WE CLEVER, NOW BUY OUR SONG OR WE WILL CRY." These grifters don't know when to quit. It honestly depresses me, they have destroyed a once great tradition.

...Rock Choir go for it every few years and never chart! Why do the official charts keep giving them coverage?

The same artist charting with different names
For some reason, the chart rundown counts them as "Michael Jackson and the Jackson 5" for the song "Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town"...no clue why! It would be like crediting "John Lennon and The Beatles". It makes no sense.

Pick your favourite song that missed #1.
Man in the Mirror by Michael Jackson. It's mad that it never got to number 1, but it's probably because of how big his album sales were!

Christmas #1 2023 odds & discussion
I will explode if we see "Creator Universe feat. LadBaby" as a surprise new mix on Monday... What makes it even more annoying is the fact that the original version of "I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday" has never charted higher than #4! If a rubbish cover of it gets to number 1...ugh. Anything but that.

Christmas #1 2023 odds & discussion
I think it's the first ever UK release on CD, though, so that niche market of people who still buy CD singles will want to get it. The thing on the Amazon listing says "600+ bought in the past month", so yeah, it won't make a MASSIVE difference, but it means we will have a small battle for the CD singles chart between Sam Ryder and Wham!, which is a nice novelty!

Christmas #1 2023 odds & discussion
Hold on...surely this means it will not longer be on ACR? As they are actively promoting it? So it will run away with the number 1, if that is the case...

Christmas #1 2023 odds & discussion
Ugh, can we PLEASE not have a 6th Christmas number 1 in a row that is rich people using poverty to sell their rubbish song?

Christmas #1 2023 odds & discussion
Saying "this song is for charity!" never screams quality in terms of the song, either. About 1 in 50 are actually any good.

Christmas #1 2023 odds & discussion
The Sidemen did a decent job of it last Christmas. Didn't get the number 1, but Christmas Drillings already has more Spotify streams than LadBaby's entire career. What was really notable about The Krown Jewelz success was how much of it was fuelled by Bandcamp sales. They did very little on iTunes, but shifted thousands on Bandcamp!

The same artist charting with different names
Yeah, they don't work  I was thinking more of it being the exact same artist - so a solo artist, or a band with the same line-up - but charting with different names!

The same artist charting with different names
The Krackpots are due to release "Proper Christmas" on Friday, which will be their 4th attempt at Christmas number 1. With previous efforts charting under the names The Kunts and The Krown Jewelz, I was thinking that there can't be too many cases of the same band having chart hits with 3 different names. Prince is well-known for being called The Artist Formerly Known as Prince for a period, but I can't think of any other examples.

OCC: The Top 40 biggest Christmas songs of the 21st Century
Ah, good call. That means that over half of the list are covers! Rubbish.
