  1. Streaming "sales" are absurd. As if Running Up That Hill *sold* more in 7 months than it had in over 35 years.

"UK record sales have been rising for the last 15 years, reaching £116.8m this year. In comparison, CD sales stood at £98.3 million. Vinyl's renaissance is good news for artists facing lower revenues from streaming." Yeah...completely ignoring the fact that most artists struggling can simply not afford to take the risk of printing their own run of Vinyl!
  3. 66 NEW Johnny Flynn - Detectorists (Original Soundtrack from the TV Series) Lovely to see this. Beautiful show, beautiful theme.
  4. Albums used to sell more in a week than they do in a year nowadays.
  5. Sidemen currently have 8 of the top 10 on iTunes still...with their streaming, I fancy them to at least get a 2nd week in the top 40, if not even higher.
  6. I think it will be hard to get in the chart today, as it's still full of different versions by The Kunts and Sidemen!
  7. ...The Cheeky Girls?!
  8. Who is the US/Canada/Australia/New Zealand are downloading this?!
  9. It would, yeah - but I am sure that 99% would be the UK, especially as the songs all have more than 500 sales, whereas a typical release by the band would have far less.
  10. The Kunts have sold at least 4000 downloads on Bandcamp alone today!
  11. LadBaby was talking about doing a World Cup song - they presumably decided against it as they were worried it would scupper this very record. Utterly bizarrely, they have the best ever record for a 100% number 1 hit rate - but they also have the worst record for number 1 hits sticking in the charts. Every single song has spent just a single week in the top 20. I Love Sausage Rolls was the first number 1 to spend only 1 week in the top 40, while Don't Stop Me Eatin' was the first number 1 to spend only 1 week in the top 75. Food Aid has a real shot at being the first number 1 to go 1-out.
  12. Surprised to see Love Story so high! I know it was fairly big, but I didn't think it was bigger than I Knew You Were Trouble.
  13. The Christmas streaming charts really do show how playlists on different platforms massively dictate what people listen to. Brenda Lee 3rd on Spotify, but only 22nd on Apple.
  14. 13 NEW Leeds United Team & Supporters - Leeds, Leeds, Leeds (Marching On Together) Any idea why this track - originally from 2010 - is here?
  15. The article says "We’ve tallied up the numbers using both sales and streaming figures", so I presume the title of this thread is wrong!
  16. Can't we? Why does he want it? He's not even a musician. You need to have an incredible ego to think you deserve 5 number 1 singles as someone with no musical talent, never-mind 5 Christmas number 1s in a row.
  17. 1 =LadBaby - Food Aid 2 +2 The Kunts - f*** the Tories (feat. Terry Edwards) 3 NEW LadBaby - Food Aid (Karaoke Version) 4 +1 The Kunts - f*** the Tories (feat. Cassetteboy) [The Kunts vs Cassetteboy] 10 +5 The Kunts - f*** the Tories (feat. Dead Men Talking) [12" Sausage Roll c**t Mix] 3 versions of The Kunts back in the top 10, including the main version at number 2. It's hotting up.

Eric Carmen - Hungry Eyes - Platinum - 1988 Mis-read this as "Eric Cartman" at first!
  19. Wanting streams is missing the point - no-one actually wants to listen to their songs.
  20. Sidemen releasing a new version of Christmas Drillings, and rising the iTunes chart! They are going for it!
  21. I'd also say that wanting 5 Christmas number 1s, despite not having a modicum of musical talent, is such a Tory thing to do. ;)
  22. People said the same before RATM in 2009! There will be a dip in sales for LadBaby this year, definitely, without the Sheeran/Elton involvement. He was asked in 2019, but "refused to say" who he voted for. He went on to say "I'm sure the government will do a brilliant job" - let's just say that I wouldn't expect someone who is left-wing to say that, given the Tories record since 2010.
  23. No-one knows. We will see how The Kunts and Sidemen's sales stack up in the midweeks.
  24. Sidemen already have more streams for their lead Christmas single than LadBaby has managed for any of his (apart from last year's one that has help from being in Ed Sheeran/Elton John playlists). It's also currently climbing the official chart organically, even before Christmas number 1 week. I really hope either them or The Kunts can blow LadBaby out of the water.
