  1. I am loving Rapper's Delight being in the top 10!

Dominic Frisby -17 Million F**k Offs Vera Lynn - Land of Hope and Glory Ed Sheeran - Perfect (mainly because it's been around too long) The Frisby one in particular is incredibly awful.
  3. To be honest, if the last couple of Children In Need songs couldn't sell enough downloads to make the top 100, then producing a physical single would have been a bizarre decision.
  4. "Cause all of the stars are fading away Just try not to worry, you'll see them someday Take what you need, and be on your way And stop crying your heart out" I've never thought this was SUPER positive, to be fair...
  5. The last 2 Children In Need songs didn't chart at all, so it will be interesting to see how this one does. I guess that all they need is 1000 fans of each artist to download the song, and they'll get the first top 10 for a CIN song since 2015!
  6. If it's still getting played that much, then it should still be in the charts. People can't complain about ACR applied to Christmas songs in one day, and then say "kick out Mr. Brightside forever!" the next. It's currently #254 on iTunes, so people are still buying it, too. It usually gets into the top 75 around New Year, too, as it's on a lot of people's playlists around that time!
  7. Has the trend of Halloween songs charting every year died out? Or does it just depend on when Halloween falls?
  8. Imagine if he did that, and that stopped Mariah from getting to #1...
  9. Interestingly, Beat It is actually Michael Jackson's 2nd biggest song on Spotify, behind Billie Jean. Anyone know how many sales Beat It has? It must surely be near a million.

A fair few acts from reality TV fame only had 2 top 40 hits, as it happens! X Factor: Jedward Chico Joe McElderry Leon Jackson Lucy Spraggan Ben Haenow Rak-Su Matt Terry Fame Academy: Sinead Quinn Alex Parks James Fox Pop Idol: Rosie Ribbons Rik Waller Sarah Whatmore Sam & Mark Michelle McManus In total, 7 winners of reality TV shows have only had 2 top 40 singles. Quite mad, really.
  11. I am not an Everton fan, but this is very funny. Good on them.
  12. Pleasantly surprised to see this doing relatively well! It's a sweet little song.
  13. 199 NEW Robb Johnson - Tony Skinner's Lad Charity single about former MP Dennis Skinner.

    Ray Quinn.

It seems weird that a sale can count towards both the Greatest Hits collection and the studio album...but I think the album format is quickly dying, so if they didn't do that, we'd have albums selling 1000 copies and making the top 40. Even with the current format, we had an album that sold 1,625 copies and made #49 just last week. They are trying to keep the album chart interesting, but I presume the thinking is "why would anyone care about the album charts if you can get a top 40 with so few sales?" - although we are heading towards that reality either way.
  16. Managing to appear in the top 25 on iTunes...17 years after Fame Academy? I know it won't trouble the actual charts, but that's still a decent achievement for him. Good on him.
  17. Great to see We Are The Champions back in any chart!

Didn't Pete from Big Brother release some music? I am guessing it didn't chart...
  19. Shayne Ward's version of Over the Rainbow is much better than Amanda Holden's, but that's not saying much.
  20. I don't think James Arthur even released his new recording on a Friday, so I think he's doing it for the right reasons, not to grab a re-entry for a 2016 song! :P The most cynical use of charity to try and get a hit definitely goes to Amanda Holden, though...
  21. Why is Stevie Wonder at 15? It is a tune, just surprised to see him there!

Simon & Garfunkel - The Graduate OST - Silver - Released: 1968 I wonder if many albums have taken longer to get their first certification?
  23. What a quote that is. With Dominic Frisby having a grand total of 951 monthly listeners on Spotify, he would need absurd download numbers to even make the top 200.
  24. Thank you for this. I was about to stream it to see what it's all about, but now I know not to bother! Hope Jarvis Cocker does well. I don't think he's had a solo top 40 hit...
  25. I swear that Hurts was in a similar list last year....I don't get how combined sales of 26,000 over 9 years makes it worth mentioning. Regardless of whether the writer thinks it is a great song or not, surely the OC should talk about chart songs, not ones that have probably never hit the top 200? It's also a bit strange to omit Matt Terry's Christmas song, which was written by Ed Sheeran. That charted at number 3 less than 3 years ago.
