Thank you for that. I was quoting from Alan Jones in Record Mirror in 1982. Back then the album chart only went back to 1958 in the Guinness Book Of Hit Albums when South Pacific was number 1. It was many years later that they added album charts going back to July 1956.

It was 44 years ago this week that we had the first tie at the top of the album chart ! https://www.officialcharts.com/charts/albums-chart/19820718/7502/

I often watch their Glastonbury performance from 2019 with Johnny Marr on you tube. Incredible performance in front of about 100,000 people.

Mr Brightside was in last Monday's midweek chart at 38 but could not hold on. Can Mr Brightside hold on from 34 today ?

Ella Langley back in the top 5 and resuming her leisurely rise to number 1 !

Will last night's result give Wonderwall a boost ?

Indeed - how about 3 hours !!

That was cut short - less than a minute of Silva Bumpa

back in 2 years time at the next Euros !!

Sign Of The Times back up 7 places

Very unusual - not a single comment so far ! Have people given up on the charts due to the Sam / Olivia domination ?!

Drop Dead is on ACR and starred out - replaced by Honeybee at number 30

Ella Langley back in the top 5 next week !

So pleased that Bonnie is back in the top 40. What a great tribute.

James Cusack will be leaving Radio 1 soon so is this his last Chart show ?

Maybe Jack will skip it as nobody wants to hear it now !!

With the football songs leaving next week, Ella Langley can return to the top 5 !

Wonderwall 2 - OUT next week

One other chart related change is that James Cusack will be leaving Radio 1. I preferred James presenting the chart show when he covered for Jack so I wonder who will be the chart show cover from September.

Looking forward to Jack playing Mr Brightside on Friday !!

Shakira up 9 places !!

Big climb for Shakira ?

Wonderwall at number 8 tonight. Where will it be on Friday ?!
