The 1994 episodes will start on the 6th January with the 4th January 1994 show which was a 30th anniversary special presented by Smashie and Nicey - its basically an old clips show. The weekly 1994 shows will start on the 13th January: 7.00pm - 6 January 1993 7.30pm - 13 January 1993 provisional schedule for 20th January: 7.00pm - 20 January 1994 - last show for Tony Dortie 7.30pm - 27 January 1994 - last show for Mark Franklin It's ironic that the last number 1 for Tony and Mark will be Things Can Only Get Better !! I am going to miss both of them. The retro double bills that followed the 1993 episodes will continue into the 1994 shows with 1977 and 1983 on the 13th Jan - 1981 and 1990 on the 20th Jan.

90s Top 10 Sales- Week By Week- 1993
I've just been catching up on this thread. On your summary of the 9th October, you mention Take That and Lulu entering the chart at number 1 and then you say: " In case you’re wondering the only other group to score consecutive No 1 hits at debut were Slade." What about Queen ? - straight in at number 1 in December 1991 with Bo Rap / These Are The Days Of Our Lives and then their next hit, then 5 Live EP ( alongside George Michael and Lisa Stansfield ) also entered the chart at number 1 earlier in 1993.

Singles that were originally B-sides
The last number 1 of the 1950s, What Do You Want To Make Those Eyes At Me For by Emile Ford and the Checkmates, was a b-side - the a side was called Don't Tell Me Your Troubles.
-
Singles that were originally B-sides
The Smiths masterpiece How Soon Is Now was originally on the b-side of the 12 inch single of William It Was Really Nothing in 1984 however so many people loved How Soon Is Now - it was number 1 on John Peel's Festive 50 of 1984 - that it was released as a single in its own right in 1985.

Singles that were originally B-sides
The Top of the Pops repeats reminded me that Thinking Of You by Sister Sledge was originally the b-side of Lost In Music back in 1979 Thinking Of You was released as a single in 1984 reaching number 11.

Is Jack Saunders right for the chart?
I'm showing my age here but Tommy Vance was a rock person but he was a very good presenter of the Top 40 back in the day.

90s Top 10 Sales- Week By Week- 1993
The 8th May chart was the first time in chart history that we had 3 new entries in the top 5. The top 3 will all be new entries for the first time in May 1997 - George Michael will be one of the artists.

Boris Johnson Is A C*** - The Kunts - appropriate or not?
What will happen on the chart show on Friday with Scott Mills. You cannot say the artist name - I've not heard the song but presumably you can't play it - and you cannot say the full title. Scott could say part of the title " at number 8 it's Boris Johnson " but if he did people might think it's Boris himself so will Scott just miss the position altogether ?
