  4. I keep hoping Band Aid 2 gets played at Christmas time rather than the other versions. I imagine it'll be back to the original next year though!
  5. They are 1 of many with multiple entries in the Top 50. Eclipsed by Sam Smith & Ed Sheeran with 3 each no doubt
  6. #Controversial

  8. I think Ed might still have grabbed the #1 that week
  9. And it's also announced before the final sales week of the 2014 chart year
  10. Seems to be really picking up now. #13 on itunes and steadily increasing. Once people lay off buying the big hits of 2014, it'll surely finally crack the Top 10
  11. Now that would've been unpleasant Thankful for small mercies
  12. Love LNFSG! Reminds me of good times on holiday but it has to be the version with Justin

I was referring to actual #1 singles that lost their #1 status in this thread due to huge #1 singles on either side. Example: Naught Boy feat Sam Smith

I would think it should clear 100K again quite easily this week as iTunes Giftcard/Hits of The Year/NYE party sales contribute as well as it's Streaming dominance - next week might tell a different story though
  21. It's a minor role - but one that is important to the story apparently
  22. Incidentally, I'm curious as to how much 'Into The Blue has sold in total. It's total sales (now that 2014 streaming sales are included) must be something similar to Santa Baby

I've been catching up with this thread over the last couple of days and found it fascinating. It does indeed whittle out a lot of the flash-in-the-pan #1's very successfully. The only flaw with the 3-week-basis for calculation seems to be that some pretty successful tracks get lost between huge selling #1's on either side of them. I imagine a '2-week sales' calculation might help these sorts of tracks whilst still weeding out the obvious non-number-ones No surprises that the likes of McFly, Westlife and other fan-led singles are the biggests losers by this calculation.
  25. Into The Blue was a Top 10 in Scotland though! It reached #10 - maybe that's why it was performed there (just like every other date  )
