Just listening to the megamix on Spotify now - it doesn't sound too bad after all! I highly doubt it will emulate 'True', but I'm looking forward to its release now for a proper listen. :music:

The James Bond theme has actually already been played twice by Nick Grimshaw on Radio 1 this morning, so it should start climbing before midday. Not sure I'm a fan personally...

The Kygo remix of 'Younger' can be bought both from the single release, and from the EP. Maybe sales are split between the two, hence why the top version isn't climbing very quickly? Then there's the original version too, which is what Radio 1 seem to be playing. Possibly a reason why it is underperforming? Fingers crossed it will continue to rise!

I'm not really a fan of the remix of Bloodstream, not sure it really adds anything. But I like the album version, so would be happy if it's number one. It's a shame that Kygo looks to have stalled for the moment (on iTunes).

Martin Garrix added a teaser of his next single "Don't Look Down" on Instagram earlier today. Sounding much more like "Forbidden Voices" than "Animals". Seems like he really has changed his sound up! I think 'The Nights' is quite similar to 'Wake Me Up' and 'Hey Brother', which likely explains why it's proving to be popular. It's also on the Fifa 15 Soundtrack (excuse the repetition) which might be attracting a few buyers if they recognise it from the game. In some (very loose) respect, it's sort of like a held back release as lots of people might already know the track, even though it hasn't been promoted by being played on the radio.

The Weeknd sings the second verse on the *original* version that appeared on the Hunger Games soundtrack (currently ~160 on iTunes). I suppose they've just confused the crediting and assumed that the album and soundtrack version are the same?

Not sure if Sam Smith and Ariana Grande really count.. Didn't Ariana Grande release quite a few singles before 'Problem' that didn't make the chart? (I know it mentions that, but still..) And I thought Sam Smith's debut single as a lead artist was 'Lay Me Down'. Or do we just ignore that one? Seems a bit of a muddled list, but interesting nonetheless. It's a shame 'Rude' didn't enter at number one - that would add another to the list.

If the effect lasts more than a week, anything featured on the New Years fireworks could get a good boost. I think 'Rather Be' will be the biggest beneficiary of the effect. Would quite like 'Outside' to get a boost out of it, or something a bit more obscure like 'Faded' by Zhu. I can only dream about the latter, I suppose. :P
