I said in a post other day she needed to aim for 140,000 and she has surpassed it now she needs to aim for 165,000 to 170,000 this week to compensate for the inevitable slowing of itunes sales. The three versions on itunes are now barely no.1 combined so streams increase is needed

The chart travesty that was everybody wants to rule the world not reaching no.1 would hopefully have been avoided.

I was wondering if it's possible for someone to create theoretical streaming /official charts for before 2000 and see if people agree what could have been different about the official charts had Streaming existed in the 80s and 90s. My example would be on 11 October 1998 had streaming existed alongside sales I think Aerosmith would have been the biggest streaming song and been No.1 on the Official Chart, I am not sure Billie with Girlfriend would have been a highly streamed song and I think a big rock band with a movie hit could easily have been a huge streaming song, Official Chart dated 11 October 1998 1 New GIRLFRIEND Billie 2 1 B'WITCHED Rollercoaster 3 New FATBOY SLIM GANGSTER TRIPPIN 4 4 AEROSMITH Don't Want To Miss A Thing Just a thought it might be a bit of fun to see if any stats brains on here might be able to recalculate and reimagine the week's charts.

Interesting makes me wonder how acts like Dave & Central Cee and J Hus can manage over a million a day with that stat makes it sounds a lot of people are going on Spotify just to stream them then again of course sales are different to streaming numbers but to get a million people to go on Spotify every day is no mean feat.

Heaven climbed from 137 I assumed it was new I am not up with the current chart situation but I see it's been out for a few months still a good song.

My argument with Youtube is I pay the premium to avoid the ads not pay for the song. I do feel quite peed off I streamed Kylie on Spotify all week not knowing it was a very low count rate but to counter I have watched it Padam a number of times each day so may have made up for it unless Youtube discard the same account watching a video per day.

Out of curiosity I assume Youtube views count towards the OCC does paying for the Youtube premium monthly subscription count differently than just having a free Youtube account?

To counter that then if you had bought a song in 1990 at 99p did it not count the same as paying £3.99?

I always knew Spotify was rigged but not counting a listen as 0.1 because you haven't paid for it, seriously, a listen is a listen. Imagine in the sales era, did you buy your song from Woolworths or HMV it might only count as half a sale there would have been media stories on it.

Liking the new Niall Horan song not quite in the Slow Hands/Nice To Meet Ya level of greatness but it's a nice gentle summer chill song. I hope it can do good things in the charts.

As my streaming knowledge isn't great how many sales does 10 plays give you on Spotify is it 1 sale?

Don't forgot Drake is now almost guaranteed No.2 on Friday with 1m streams yesterday so it will be a battle but if anyone can do it Kylie can. I expect some tv appearances soon maybe on the One Show or something similar. Don't forget all the formats mean Kylie is still No.1 on I-Tunes.

If you go on the official charts website and click Kylie Padam Padam buy it only gives the option of Amazon and not i-tunes any ideas why this would be?

No time to dither the campaign to get Kylie top 10 next week starts now.

People are very downbeat about it not being top 10 this week, like the song is just going to disappear next week, if it climbs to 13 or 14 that is a huge progress, who knows what next week has in store it isn't just going to drop out of the charts next week, it could easily stay around for a long time it has found a static streaming audience, it is still top of i-tunes (combined) it has airplay and sales so no reason why this week should be it's peak

I agree with this I bought the extended it would have been nice to have had an extra verse, but they may have that up their sleeves who knows. Anyway we better stop this chat in case we are accused of taking over the i-tunes thread maybe continue this in the Kylie thread.
