Steps learned a big lesson with regards to I-tunes and Spotify when "Scared of The Dark" came out and it was no.1 on I-tunes but not Spotify, the group learned that no matter what they do if Spotify ain't interested they ain't going to chart so concentrate on the album sales and physical promotion and don't worry about the charts anymore.

They chose to release it at midnight Australia time I don't really think Kylie is chart bothered these days as to release it midnight UK time.

The answer is probably the same as why America never really had big Christmas hits because the charts are way to slow to accommodate a Christmas hit plus tv channels like Magic have their Christmas programmes already recorded so for example Kylie Minogue released The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year but all the music channels had their special programmes made so it didn't get played. Spotify and I-tunes have made the UK charts so slow a Christmas song would have no time to build an audience, look at Niall Horan new song been out around 35 days and only just dragging itself up Spotify, I-tunes and the Official Chart. Artists and record companies now realise there is no money in the Christmas single chart anymore it isn't worth the time to release a specific Christmas song, they will most likely be album pluggers on limited release rather than a specific single.
