  1. This is because sales are so low and one song is not dominating ie 1k between 1 and 2 in today's spotify. When a big new release comes out it people will go off again for a while, it's a bit ironic as Alanis would say that people get more interested when less people are buying or streaming and when more people are buying less people want to talk about it.
  2. Everyone ignoring Louis Tomlinson now i-tunes top 5 and top 20 on Spotify
  3. They paid for it out of their own money it is their record label they are far from skint Lisa has a successful business in Dubai for a start.
  4. Why don't Apple just merge both and you could choose to download or stream why have two sites?
  5. Spotify is trying to do exclusive deals with big record companies so it can float on stock market so apple needs to get something done quick before they sign them all up.
  6. Not green anymore
  7. The charts have always been bias to be fair when I actively listened every week from 1989 to 2006 it was always a young person's thing but I am surprised that Spotify doesn't attract mid age people as most songs are on it from 80 and 90s. Since Spotify though it seems that this has been purely aimed at teens and because they are the main contributor to the chart it has left the pre digit generation behind.
  8. I think most of us around 40 are not spotify users we are still the CD generation and most Steps fans are traditional CD users and if we did use spotify it wouldn't be a subscription. I think if most people around 40 used spotify they might find it quite an experience finding all the old songs they loved at the touch of a button but it's getting them onto it. As I said earlier I use youtube rather than Spotify and that doesn't help Steps if others are like me. What confuses me is why people will buy a song at 59p but not 99p are music buyers really that tight?
  9. As explained they are not on any playlists and most plays on spotify are people using playlists and being forced to listen to songs they don't like as you cannot fast forward a playlist if you don't subscribe to Spotify. Which is why Brenda Lee, Andy Williams etc get into Spotify at Christmas but would never any other time of the year.
  10. Big climb for Steps considering they didn't perform the song on Loose Women 9 Little Mix 0.3571 0.3479 0.3497 0.3418 0.3472 0.3446 10 Steps 0.3470 0.3182 0.3005 0.2833 0.2885 0.2899
  11. Most of us who are around 40 are the last cd generation and the last generation to not grow up with gadgets such as laptops and i-phones so we are more reluctant to look towards spotify I only looked myself for the first time last year but am not an active user I look up songs on Youtube which doesn't help any artist.
  12. Steps and Olly Murs needs to get together to highlight the ridiculousness of the charts on acts that don't attract Spotify plays because it needs changing in some way to allow all acts to benefit.
  13. They have defied the odds and stayed almost top 10 since Friday (except early this morning) so I don't know if continuous top 10 will give them a top 40 place.
  14. They have got the management team spot on they said on This Morning that their management is organising them and they just turn up where they are told, the have got it just spot on, I think maybe 5 weeks ago they didn't quite have an idea what to do but have made up for it.
  15. Who knows it's weird everyday they find a show to promote it on and it goes back top 10 but hoepfully the Loose Women promo today will keep it in i-tunes to give it a top 40 slot and then they can get some plays on the MTV channels next week with the video..
  16. Went down to 12th overnight but have a green bar now and are back in 0.3000
  17. Steps are on Loose Women today and have just gone back into I-tunes top 10
  18. Steps have just gone 9 from 10 after their repeat appearance on Mrs Brown tonight
  19. It is brilliant for an act like Steps to be back in the top 10 of i-tunes with a song that was released 6 weeks ago I just find it strange that exposure to 5 million people did not generate much of a lift. I was also watching This Morning when H was saying how different it all is now with i-tunes and spotify and I wonder if they realise that the single is a big success despite the No.37 tag of the OCC or will they feel it didn't perform as well as they had hoped. It must be frustrating to be told you can't get streaming as you are not on many playlists and no one is buying much on i-tunes so your single won't chart from that either even though you have worked your arses off doing publicity, they looked quite tired on This Morning and I don't think Rylan jumping around probably helped in that respect though even though I think he is an idiot he gave them exposure by being an idiot. Kworb just updated and as expected a drop 9 Steps - Scared of the Dark 0.3794 0.4004 0.3997 0.3989 0.3970 0.3640
  20. You were right, the current charts still confuse me, you perform in front of 5 million people during a time when sales are low and still don't get much of a lift and end up at No.8. Maybe it was because the show finished at 10.15pm and people couldn't be bothered to buy at that time then forgot when they got up or the demographic of Mrs Brown don't use i-tunes but always seems rather odd that Mrs Brown's music guests never really benefited from the exposure of 5 million people on primetime Saturday night. The song has dropped from 8 to 9 now and no further promotion that I can see apart from the repeat of Mrs Brown on Monday night.
  21. Steps are at No.20
  22. They on This Morning performing tomorrow and Mrs Brown on Saturday
  23. Stabilised overnight because everyone was asleep the last update was a 0.0300 drop same pattern as yesterday.
  24. I know but he needs to be advancing more rapidly at least keep the streams fairly even.
  25. Harry Styles up one place to 12 but loses 25,000 streams
